Retired for almost 30 years and the chirps of the ESM Stack bring back all the memories
Just incredible footage. It captures so much. Thank you dearly for not overlaying music. This is perfect.
Lots of good memories. ET2(SS/DV), SSBN747 Blue - _The Hilton_
Hail to the silent service and ALL who serve! In the spirit that goes back to to the men who served in WW II and before. True courage and humility yet strength of the U.S. Navy!!
Our family was aboard this sub when it stopped in New London for a one day tour before heading off to pick up it's nuclear payload. It was in port to offer tours. We waited with our two small children almost 7 hours to get aboard. It was amazing.
It was indeed amazing. Lucky you. 7 long hours with two kids...but at the end you are inside in one of the complex machines of US Navy...
You all then play basketball to sharpen everyones skills
Take the ball
From the one who has it
If you can't beat up your computer your files will fall out
Great video!! I love that you have no goofy music or narration. Thanks for showing what it's really like aboard a sub.
เยี่ยมยอด
Love how the crew make a point of celebrating success of their crewmates.
I absolutely love submarines, I think that they are amazing and the technology that they incorporate is mind-blowing. However, I don't think I could work on one!
I served on for 3 yrs at the time it was 110 straight days without seeing light ....
Me either but I got to work on them when I was in the navy
I got a invite to tour the USS OHIO when it was in SEATTLE during the city’s SEAFAIR DAYS during the summer many years ago. I bought a patch and a tee shirt that the sub was selling. I don’t how they stay sane in such cramped areas. Once I was inside the sub, I had to get out in about 15 min. You really have to get along with everyone. Never seeing the sun for weeks/months at time. Hats off to the men/women that serve on them.
John Diczhazy I leave for navy bootcamp September 23rd, I am going to be a torpedoesmen any advice on it?
Better than any Sub movie I've ever seen. Well done.
So young, so good.
USA has the best submarines in the world, thanks for the tour 🇺🇸
And Germany...!
And the Netherlands
I LOVE IT THESE MEN ARE DISCIPLINED SUBMARINERS !!
So cool. Wish there were more submarine movies..
Retired form the navy for 15 years and still watch the boats in action
Thank you for your service !
@@kahvac It was a pleasure to serve
Carlos, thanks for your service.
Carlos: You and others are the BEST! I appreciate your service, thank you!
Proud you are on our side. Thanks for all your sacrifices while on duty!
Thank you for your service!
You Boys Rock!!!
John diguido @1
Boys?
Don't forget the girls, gays, and transgenders. So proud of our military.
NOT.
I think the nuclear submarine looks beautiful as it glides through the water. I love too look at submarines. I would love to go on board one.
Sheer awesomeness and quantum-induced-nuclear power. Blow anyone out of this earth with a push of a button.
I served on the SS395, the SSBN635, and SSN604. Good documentary. The one thing that I see in documentaries that does not look right to me is the large number of the crew in the control room during the filming. Typically there would be few in control: The conning officer, the diving officer, two helmsman / plainsmen and a Chief Petty Officer on the BCP. (Ballast Control Panel) Often on the SSN604 the Chief of the watch would serve as the diving officer and either the Auxillaryman of the watch or the ICman of the watch would handle the BCP due to a shortage available officers. FWIW.
SSBN 735?
Thanks for this. MMCM(SS) Ret. 742 Gold 2002-2006
They are so young...all of them!
Young but all very intelligent and disciplined.
valentin cristache : Yes they are young, and highly trained submariners. Old folks would find it difficult to maneuver inside with their arthritic knees, hips and shoulders, wouldn’t we? God bless these fine men and women, America’s finest!
@@e.conboy4286 Amen. I would never make it to the top bunk, and it would take 5 minutes to get out of that lower one.
Amazing fire power!
It is rare to see a ship like that on the surface. When I was on the Vallejo, except when in port, we spent about 4 hours every 3 months on the surface, leaving port and returning. The rest was submerged.
Real American Heroes!
Great program.
Bellissimo video ho sempre desiderato visitare un sottomarino
A submarine tour would be nice....but i'd hate to be on one stuck under water when the toilets back up, lol!
Hooyah M-Div!
Gold Crew 2015-2019
Great people!
Subs is an Shark of Naval Warfare
Great stuff. Good tours, without a ton of annoying narration to go with it. More, more, more!!!
I never saw a ballistic submarine underway, but I heard destructive testing on the nose cone. They were dropping it on it's nose! Not the whole sub but a good three hundred feet forward!
Good luck and God blessed all.
Very impressive.
So great
much power USA submarine
Was a prevalage to do weld on that sub.
In the Kreigsmarine the traditional truth is U boat men got the best food,i think the same is true for the US Navy, submariners have the best chow!
Its true, the food budget for ships is the highest in the U.S Navy
It's true especially right after leaving port. After you've been out for a couple of months though there is nothing fresh left. Even the milk is powdered at that point.
Nice video
great! thank-you
Thanks to all of the brave sailors that suit up and punch in each and every day below the waves insuring our safety here at home. ONE of our ballistic missile subs could literally remove several nations from the face of the Earth if needed. Not to mention the fact that it could sink dozens of enemy warships including submarines without being detected. “Death From BELOW” for real.
Good
wat was going on at the end? love the no commentary in these vids tho, able to hear the chatter and operations
If ya mean the new patches, they were being initiated into submarines, I dont know if they still do the Order of Neptune ritual though en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Line-crossing_ceremony A friend I was stationed with was ex navyt and told me about that, and said they grabbed the fattest guy which was usually the cook, greased his belly and all newbies to the Equator kissed his belly. www.veteransunited.com/network/the-navys-line-crossing-ceremony-revealed/
They earned their dolphin patch- now qualified submariners. Combination of study and practical training.
Best of the Best!!!!!!!
Do not let no-one defeat your post spot place you have been stationed
The one on the periscope every 10 seconds put one of your hands on the vertical steel for one second Mississippi to check for vibration direction.
What a fucking hell of a reminder that you're currently living in the most powerful object on the planet than all those orange missile tubes you walk past everyday during your deployment.
A literal reminder that with the push of a button you have the capability to bring about a total nuclear winter over the Earth by releasing all 24 missiles with anywhere from 8 to 14 warheads a pop. Each of those 8-14 warheads with roughly the equivalent of 25 times that of the bombs dropped on Japan in WWII.
I pray to whatever higher power that is out there that they're never launched.
So do we. But if they are ordered to, they will.
God bless the USA! Question for anyone who knows (please forgive my ignorance here). @0:40 what’s that circle etched on the plastic? And does that whole thing retract once the ship dives? And to all who have served and are currently serving our country, thank you all for your sacrifices you provide us! May God bless and keep you all safe and grant you His favor and grace.
USS Woodrow Wilson. SSBN 624. Part of 41 for Freedom
USS John Adams/SSBN 620 Gold crew. 41 for Freedom...and we didn't lose a single boomer.
SSBN-644B
Nice
May god protect and guide you all.where ever you go god bless you all.
Great video! QMCS, well technically ETCS SS retired. 742 Blue ANAV 2001-2004
Great video. I wish videos like this one would show the officer's berthing areas. I know how the enlisted looks like. Just want to see if the officers get more space, like 2 or 4 to a room?
WoooooW !!!
I give all the submariners respect and credit but I preferred on top of the water USS FORREST SHERMAN DD931 1970-74
A big boat.
DIVE. DIVE. DIVE.
USN is very capable of protecting Americans & allies in SCS & lots of other places that international law allow
"Shome thingsh in here don't react well to bulletsch."
This boat would turn a large country into a parking lot before they knew what hit them.

Dang I'm Old ... even the Chiefs look like kids to me
Thanks for pointing that out and I concur ... dang I'm old. Lol.
Breakfast looks good. I wonder if they serve a lot of Garvey and biscuits.
I just hope no one ends ups nuking their food.
Preston garvey and biscuits
Lumpy Midge Mmm! Country Garvey?
Garvey . . . gravey, think I missed something, Lol !
I would think they'll make whatever you want in the mess hall.
Damn this shit looks mad depressing, salute to these guys.
Looks fairly cramped in there
7:11 This person's face resembles Freddie Mercury's face. This is an interesting scene.
Because it's a white guy with a mustache? Yea.. looks just like him! ....
Go Navy
I always told the admirals not to allow guys with prescription glasses on sub back in the day.
Go Pokes!
Compared to World War II submarine you guys are living in luxury !
I am a bit surprised that the mess tables don't have a "ship's lip"around the edges to contain liquid spills. Just a small observation. Ex-R.A.N CPO.
Действительно так. Но у подводников- нет качки )))
If it ain't Fast Attack it is a Glamour Hotel that can submerge! Fast Attack Tough!
Periscope could use a little oil.
Is it a sub transition serving pizza dinner on Saturday only ???
Somebody knows? How many days submarines are going to Asia from the USA? How many additional passengers can take such a ship? I mean soldiers of Special Units- JW GROM.
I love the chow! Shit on a shingle!
I wonder what do u do if u have a itch while driving or gas??👀👀😃😃
I think Americans have best submarines
Mistake. The best submarine fleet in RUSSIA
The Russians
White Great Shark(Subs) is Ready to Terorrize the Enemy
Those piers on the new london base are pretty small I've never seen a ohio class pull into there before
💪
Would have been cool if you put a go pro on the deck to see it submerge
Probably wouldn't get that gopro back
Actually, there is a go pro video of it attached on deck to see it submerged. Can't remember the title though.
Iam sorry, my English not ferfect, iam from Indonesian , i am Verry interesting see live in the sub marine ,i know duty in the sub marine Verry danger, but one challenge interest in duty,i proud you all and greating from Indonesian nitizen
WTF- I didn’t see any cinnamon rolls being served on the mess decks. What’s this, the new Navy?
there no camera on the sub to see in the water not the periscope others camera...?
What is the temperature on the sub ??
About 65 to 68
There's a Heinz deep down in the ocean, God knows where.
Heinz
Thats Everybody body have the same jobe everyday?
Muito bem. Uma carga de profundidade e já era.!!!!
🇺🇲 : has U S S. WYOMING, broken the ice

ocean floor as well ? How deep is it?
Pressure / inch?
'dolphins" is what they received ?
100 guys going down... 50 couples coming up!
Haha ..thanks.
Big Sky 1991: Silly boy.
@4:31 This is referred to as "Sherwood Forest"
Only by those who never went to sea on one.
What happens to the machine gun and the controls when they dive
Is all that stuff on the outside taken off before they dive each time or does it stay there ?
Yes.
I am too old to enlist now, but I think I could handle that, cool stuff!
Just one of these in 1861 and the war would be over in an hour.
Any War...
Who authority allow sherwood forest to be filmed....
Guess this isn't so secret anymore if they are showing videos... Times change.
How much submarine?
177 submarine
I am really behind the times. I thought that women were only allowed on surface ships. With the very tight quarters it must be a challenge. Good to see it.
What’s the point of a machine gun mounted to the top of a sub?
What are the normal duty rotation? Six on six off?
On fast attack: used to be 7 on, 0 off. Days were 18 hours long. 6 hours on watch, 6 hours duty, 6 hours sleep. Hope to God drills or field day didn’t happen on your 6 down. Then your “day” turned into 30 hours. You only knew what time it was topside by the meal being served. I hear this has all changed now.
@@FLYSUBS89 Thanks.
Must be near end of tour, didn't see a bunch of steward s stores stashed all around.
