Awesome trick, I love this method more than the standard way everyone seems to do by cutting away the front bezel, I always wanted to keep it as mint as possible. Definitely will try this.

Update: Did it ... small unit in window however some simple mods... 1972 Ramada use a 60 inch piece of 1x12 (ripped plywood will work) across top of AC between the supports of the wall shifting the weight of the unit over a broader area to avoid stressing the side panel... NO HOLES because holes mean leaks someday... placed AC on ledge and board across top then slid the window closed... beautiful. for no reason really other than added safety added bungee cords across rear and under bottom hooked on the aluminum track... works great... no holes or plastic just simple mod... probably dozens of mods out there with common sense but I love the window idea as no real change is made to the unit like a hole in the rear end would be... Thanks...

Insulated the roof since the a/c addition making for much cooler room and a great heat trap... I will make a vid soon and link it

I have a 1972 Ramada (the longest version) was thinking about running a 1x4 at 4 to 6 feet across the top and possibly the bottom of the AC to further disperse the weight of the unit against the plastic frame... I am hoping to avoid any possible bending/warping of the sidewall... Your opinion?... and have you experienced any leak potential since the install? TIA

I had a 76 Ramada and I cut the front bezel to accommodate an 18,000 BTU heat pump which was supported on the trailer tongue. Not exactly an easy install .Most Apache lovers cringe at the thought of defacing original parts but you could hang meat up in that bitch.

You think that tiny unit will cool down an Apache? The world's worst insulated trailer.

You wouldn't happen to have a real tail light cap red

No I don't, we ended up switching one of the Apaches to LED tail lights because we couldn't find originals. If you ask in the Facebook groups there's a chance someone might have one because they switched to LED. Here's the video: ruclips.net/video/62RwLw8yfYk/видео.html
