Excellent video. You got me over a couple of hurdles. Thank you.
I've got a '73 Ramada that has clips on the top of the bottom extrusion to to keep it from falling too low, and I'm pretty sure there's one on the bottom as well, as I cannot remove it. The bottom stop is also a bit different as there are no holes for the three pegs (?), but there is an extra piece screwed into the side that serves the same purpose as the longer piece with the pegs. I don't think I can remove any of the original pieces, including the bottom extrusion, without removing the entire bevel.
I'm scouring the forums to see what can be done with this and I'll post a link with pictures when/if I'm done with my project.

You stated in the video that you had a method of cleaning the track with a snake you built? would you mind posting that? i am going to change out my chains and the stops at the same time and would love any easier ways to clean the tracks. thanks

I have a thin metal strip that came from a child's play tent but a small plumbing snake would probably work as well. I attach a rag to the end of it and pull it through multiple times.
Here is a snake that may work: www.amazon.com/IIT-49720-Sink-Drain-Cleaner/dp/B00448EA5K/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1505100524&sr=8-7&keywords=plumbing+snake
Here is a similar tent: www.amazon.com/dp/B00KTDZ4GI/ref=asc_df_B00KTDZ4GI5163805/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=394997&creativeASIN=B00KTDZ4GI&linkCode=df0&hvadid=198072474455&hvpos=2o8&hvnetw=g&hvrand=1522194468766384712&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9032898&hvtargid=pla-320255499031

It's hard to say without taking the lift system apart and inspecting it. The first thing to do would be pull the gear boxes and see if they turn freely. If not, they may need cleaned and lubed. While you've got the boxes off it's a good idea to look in the holes where they were mounted to see what kind of condition the chains are in. I've had lift systems that were difficult to raise because someone had dropped rivets into the channel where the chains go. So if the lift system is hard to move after you've serviced the gear boxes it may be necessary to remove the chains and clean the channels.
