I just stumbled across this video. In my local area of rural Maine we have something similar. What we call them up here is a weird-ass looking deer. The natives have another name for them I don't recall what that name was. It's a fairly common occurrence. I know just down the road from me we have this deer that just keeps sticking its tongue out for some reason I actually hit that deer in a Buick once, it's still alive. For the longest time there was a deer that had a twisted face.
I wish I saw that before, having the episode called "Weird-ass Looking Deer" would have been so much better haha you should take a picture of the deer sticking it's tongue out that sounds super strange!
As someone who works with wildlife, many animals are underestimated for their intelligence, but deer, deer don't have this issue. I love deer, but honestly, they aren't topping any iq charts. And they can get many different illnesses, including ones that change behavior and appearance. In the early stages of the illness, it might not appear as significant, but something in our monkey brain recognizes that something is wrong and sticks out, such as the eyes. As humans we need to place and catorgize abnormalities, and when we can't, it becomes creepy.
Exactly! Its cool, but very easily explained, and since the descriptions are so varied it could be any number of conditions that make the deer either look unusual or be more aggressive than usual.
The current American mass media are sensationalist non fact checking morons who declared a diseased Canine a Chupacabra.... despite the fact the original reports of the creature describe a REPITLE.
Not necessarily, pigs have forward facing eyes as well. They're not really all that well adapted at hunting, although they will sometimes consumer meat if it's available.
Hey if anyone would, could one of you guys somehow get ahold of these podcasters and ask them to do an episode over nightmare on elm street? Apparently the movie was based on a true story. Haven’t looked into it much tho
More accurate title : " two millennials, in love with the sound of their own voice, ramble on for almost an hour about stuff nobody cares about , but title their video about a cryptid that might get them some attention
Not-deer How believable? A lot I’d say for one reason, deer actually occasionally eat meat, herbivores in general eat meat, squirrels and stuff to, this is because they are looking for resources that aren’t gained from plants. So not-deer? Probably someone seeing deer at a bad time and tiny features like blood around the mouth after feeding which causes that uneasy feeling. Look it up though, deer eat meat on very very rare occasion. Nothing magical or pretending, herbivores are freaky and do all kinds of stuff most people have no clue about because these animals have many abilities and behavior that nat-geo and other companies don’t show often or it doesn’t show up enough to be recorded. Most animals do a lot of weird freaky stuff with no magic nonsense involved which could cause a person not familiar with their more odd and rare behavior to think “that’s a freaking monster from myth” when it’s just a normal animal which dose something unnatural. Deer will smash your skull in if you mess with them just as much as any other animal. I am very sure not-deer are just deer with minor defects and mutations. The only unbelievable bit is glowing eyes, but animals have had weird mutations and deer can breed at a really fast rate which means some defective genes can survive easier. So forward eyes, weird stretching, and so on, so on.
This is a very plausible explanation, just a couple of odd behaviors that act as the catalyst for superstition which then spirals into the creation of some crazy monster.

New to the show really enjoyed this and I'm working my way through
Thank you! We appreciate it!
I think some of the Not Deer sightings are likely the diseased CWD ones. However, some stories, I wonder about.
Awesome

the mystery of this cryptid and of what it could be even is VERY intriguing to me as someone who's always wanted to be a cryptozoologist
the not deer is very real in the same way chupacabra is real, it is a diseased animal that looks supernatural

There are at least 6 versions described.
Forward facing eyes are a distinctive predatory trait.

Hence the predatory fact
@@josejaimes-ramos1546 pigs gotta hunt for dem truffles lol.
Also ones that have hands too.
Bold of you to assume I’m not a deer
Really what deer types on a keyboard?
This is epic
You gotta read the new scp 6448 "not deer". Really hits it home.
So what if I'm not a Deer?
Orangutans are cooler anyway...

CHRONIC WASTING DISEASE
Starving to death and damage to the brain from malfunctioning brain matter.
The Not Deer is just a Radstag from Fallout 4
I originally thought the Not Deer were native to Chernobyl.
Whats that godawful sound when you describe the not dear? Could not focus on the description of it :(
Screams similar to a human's. Strangely so do other paranormal cryptids like dogman.
Deer dont weight that much
Not deer is more like a the thing alien from the movie the thing.
Ah yes…Alastor

@@parcormasteryesiknowispell4337 unless the descriptions are not couched in superstition but instead anatomy and physiology of mutation.
Somewhat plausible but is it actually that way? Glowing as reflective or self luminous.
@@randallbesch2424 That’s a point to be considered. Animals eyes do shine in light.
350 400ib deer? Where? Maybe a moose...
