What a fantastic trip. The birding seemed epic and the surf sites are awesome. My youngest brother goes down to Puerto Escondido every couple of years with his buddies from high school. His first trip down there was right after he graduated from SDSU. He's 50 years old now and they still make the trip.
Hey, nice start man! You saw six of the more than 30 West Mexico endemic birds! Love the Orange-breasted Bunting and the motmot. If you get a chance to go inland in Oaxaca, the capital city is a great town with fabulous food, and the mountains have many more great birds.
@@TheBirdingVoyage I was in Oaxaca as well for a few days and I spotted some birds to make some illustrations, but I couldn’t find the singer of that song
I see you have had a fantastic trip. Which part of Oaxaca did you visit? I was in Oaxaca city and Huatulco (Cruceicita) end of October and can just agree, a great place for bird watching
Thanks for watching! We stayed in Puerto Escondido for a few days and south of Hualtulco for a few more. That's awesome you were there in October. It was such a cool place. I can't wait to go back!
Wow! This is awesome! I think I need to add Oaxaca on my list of birding destinations! Seems like such an amazing place. Where did you fly into? You do a lot of driving?
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Oaxaca is an amazing place to bird/visit. I only scratched the surface. Most flights go into Mexico City first then on to Puerto Escondido or Huatulco. I'm happy to answer any questions you have.
I'm not sure what's more impressive, the birds or surfer who's a keen birder. Marvellous ❤👌🐦
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Hello! Can you tell me the name of the bird singing at 1:05 while you are showing the the Frigatebird?
I think it is the Rufous-naped Wren that is shown in the next shot.

Sounds like a great trip! Yeah they are smaller birds and sometimes can be hard to spot!

That Orange breasted bunting adult is a beautyyyy 😍
It is a beautiful bird. Thanks for watching!
Do you need a SUV-car or can you manage with a normal car without 4xweel?
I think you would be fine with a two wheel drive car unless you are going to some really remote places.
