Frogs
Thanks for watching!
@@TheBirdingVoyage ofc!! Can u maybe make a video of frogs next? I heard their are some frogs at that place 😊 I love the birds!! 🥰
You can change manual focus to yhe side knob on the p1000
Good to know!
I get frustrated with connecting ipad to camera. Always difficult for me. Any tips?
No, sorry. I never tried to connect to a separate device. I always took out the memory card to transfer photos to a hard drive.
Nice video. Wish you’d have said when you were there.
Thank you for letting me know! I just added it to the title. I went February, 2023.
Absolutely beautiful! ❤❤❤
Thanks for watching!
I loved seeing the Ravens at the Tower Of London! 🥰🐦⬛ I was there on my London trip three years ago. Thanks for sharing! 🤗❤🐦
Thanks for watching!
Great video! You captured so many- its very helpful to see the rare bird identification along with the regulars. Thank you!
Thank you for watching and for your feedback!
Happy 15th Anniversary? Beautiful birds.
Thank you!
seems like a really great place! love you videos keep doing what you are doing
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoy them!
Hey man It's been a VERY long time. I haven't been out birding in months also but maybe I could start again. What it the camera you use?
Hey man! Thanks for watching. I use a Nikon P950.
@@TheBirdingVoyage Yes! That’s it. I appreciate you!
about to go there on the 28th! So excited
Awesome! Have a great trip!
Another good video, thanks. However noticed a wrong caption: at 4:32 it shows House Sparrow but def not one. I think it might be an immature male House Finch because of its orangy-red head and upper-breast still suffused with yellowish from its juvenile male plumage?
Oops! Good catch. Yes, I meant to put in House Finch. Thanks for watching!
Another superb video!!! The clarity is VERY, VERY APPRECIATED!
Thanks for watching!
Cave Creek Canyon (Ranch) is worth a mention. We were able to see the most varieties of hummingbirds (at one time) and very, very close at the Cave Creek Ranch and their hospitality was phenomenal!!! If you could do a few videos of the hummingbirds... it would be greatly appreciated?? Thank you.
Thanks for the info on Cave Creek Ranch. I will work on that!
Madera is a TOP NOTCH birding spot. It has been a while and this video tells me that I need to go back for a long visit!!! I thank you for putting out some tremendous videos! PLEASE KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!
Thank you!
AWESOME VIDEO and IDENTIFICATION INFO!!! PLEASE... PLEASE KEEP PUTTING OUT MORE VIDEOS OF THIS CALIBER!!!
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I have yet to see one of them. They used to breed at Mount Magazine State Park which is not too far from me here in Arkansas but it seems that the Park has not maintained the habitat and so they stopped coming before we moved here in 2022.
Yeah I rarely see them, but Torrey Pines in thr spring is the spot to go. I probably saw about 10 of them on this trip.
Thanks...
You're welcome and thank you for watching!
Dang Everett, you get around.
Haha! It's actually my wife and daughter that are out there. I stayed home with the boys!
I saw and photographed a Painted Bunting in Coloma Michigan while it was sitting on a car mirror back in 2019. It was quite a surprise to see one that far north!
Very cool! Painted Buntings are amazing.
@@TheBirdingVoyage there are gobs of them around here in Arkansas during the breeding season.
@@BirdBrainBrian64 That's awesome! I wish we had them in So Cal!
Can you recommend a good Arizona bird guide?
I really like the Sibley guide to birds.
Congrats on the lifers and target bird! 😊
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Awesome video! Thank you!
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Oh wow! Good that you saw them. We go to Portal often but have never seen them.
It was amazing to see!
It looks like you were on the Carrie Nation Trail. I was there this past April, and saw the Elegant Trogon on my second attempt. I wonder if this was the same male bird that I saw. Madera Canyon is nothing short of amazing!!
Yes, it was on the Carrie Nation Trail. Congrats on seeing it in April! SE Arizona is one of my favorite places to visit. Such a cool place.
Congrats on your two lifers! I would love to visit Madera Canyon someday.
Thank you! It's an incredible place.
Was it really hot in June there?
In the canyon it was around 85 each day, so not bad with all of the shade available. At the bottom of the canyon is hotter so I started there in the morning and worked my way up.
What a great video. SE AZ has been on my radar for several years now but I have yet to make it. Cool encounter with the trogon. I have seen one Elegant Trogon during our birding trip to Honduras in 2018 and other trogons there and in Colombia and Ecuador. They are interesting birds and quite colorful. You have a lovely family. It is neat that you can be together on at least some of your trips.
Thank you for watching! It sounds like you've had some great trips in Central America.
Благодарю за прекрасное видео спасибо!!!❤❤❤❤
Thanks for watching!
I love the Portal area. Got my first Trogon not 50 yards from the parking area at south fork this past July. Am a bit jealous of the Canyon Wren, still looking for one of those. Great trip and video...enjoyed it !
I really loved it, too. Congrats on the Trogon!
Such a different environment from that in the UK but the beauty and diversity of Nature in Arizona is impressive. Thank you.
Thank you for watching!
What a great initiative! Very unique and useful for birders! I wish you success!
Thank you and thanks for watching.
Great Video. I went in Late May 2024 this year. And will visit again. You saw more species than I did, but I did manage to see the Elegant Trogon briefly. Curious what the temperature there when you visited in August? I would think very hot. Beautiful rugged area of Arizona that I want to see more of and the birds.
Congrats on the Elegant Trogon! The temps were around 100 in the valley and cooler the higher you went. Thanks for watching!
Nice video and looks like a very nice trip! I've been there many times. The warbler at about 16:06 was a Virginia's Warbler. The family of Montezuma Quail was major! Good sighting!!! Looks like you had a great time.
Thank you for confirming the Virginia's Warbler. Glad you enjoyed the video!
I'm stunned that you didn't see the Trogons in the front and mid section of that dry creek. Maybe bad timing. Off course, if you stayed long enough you can hear the "bark". Nice videography clarity as usual, the hummingbirds and thanks for driving up to the top of the mountain to see what's up there..
I thought for sure I would see them! I was really bummed but felt better after seeing the Montezuma Quail.
Really love watching your videos! I've been getting ideas for future vacations. Could you please include the time of year you visit these places?
I'm glad you enjoy them! I have the date at the beginning of the video. Thanks for watching!
@@TheBirdingVoyage Now I feel real stupid, I totally missed that!
No worries! I've forgotten several times to put the dates so I made sure this time to get it in there.
First! 😊
Thanks for watching!
@@TheBirdingVoyagelove the Acorn WP and all those hummingbirds! I heard that praying mantis can kill and eat hummingbirds (saw it in the last clip of HB). Congrats on the lifer.
Thank you!
Where do they migrate from? I just saw them on the central coast 3 weeks ago. (I’m not an expert, I may have misidentified)
The Marbled Godwit breeds on the northern central plains and the Long-billed Curlew breed mostly in the North-Western states. They winter on the California coast and southward.
I've heard mixed reviews regarding the auto focus on the P950. How often were you using auto focus on the p950 versus manual focus? Are there scenarios where you think each performs better than the other? Thanks for the video!
I mostly use the manual focus on the 950. The 1000 would work better with a tripod for stability. I like the 950 for everything else.
A close relative of the American Robin.
It did look and act similar!
So nice, u earned a new sub❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
Thanks for watching!
The Laughing Falcon is 100% a species of falcon so I don’t understand why you’re saying “falcon or Hawk”. Did you not know the identity of it before uploading this video?
No I didn't. It was a new species for me so I didn't know in the moment.
My wife and I vacationed in the Puerto Vallarta area around Christmas time in 2003 and in Cabo San Lucas in 2005. Unfortunately at the time we weren't birders yet. We birded in Ecuador in 2016, 2018 and 2023; Honduras in 2018; Dominican Republic in 2019 and Colombia in 2020. I wish I felt safe birding in Mexico but I don't at the moment. What are your thoughts about safety? You obviously go so you must feel adequately safe.
There are probably certain parts of Mexico to avoid, but most of the places I've been have been safe. It sounds like you've been to some amazing birding locations!
Thanks. I have had the good fortune to do some birding in some special areas. We will likely move to Ecuador eventually. My parents moved their from Washington State when they retired. My videos aren't the greatest but here is a link to the video I made from my trip there last Christmas. ruclips.net/video/4uUNPs3MVD0/видео.htmlsi=R7bdxMn3laob24Cc
Looks like a cool adventure! Sorry you got sick, that’s always a concern in Mexico.
Thanks for watching! That's true about the food!
Thank you so much.
You're welcome!
Cat. Is. Very cool big flock!!!
Yes it was!
❤😊
Thanks for watching!
So glad this came up as I’m planning on going there in November. Thanks much. Earned a new subscriber. ❤
Sad so many were introduced. Beautiful birds though.
Very cool! Have a great trip!
