    James,
Love your show! Especially this one! We spent two weeks birding with Mark and Francisco just days after they guided you. It was amazing and I can't wait to go back. If you ever get the chance, you should have Mark take you to the Tufted Jay Preserve and Durango Highway. Mind blowing! Thanks for your dedication and bringing our passion to the world!
    Frances

I just discovered this channel and I think its amazing! I like how you promote tourism, conservation and joy in appreciating nature.
However I'm quite surpised you havent been to Chiapas, México. There are some mindblowing species there! Think of the resplendent quetzal, horned guan, lovely cotinga.

Awesome! What a coincidence. Thanks for the comments Frances. Yes, we need to go back for sure!

Chase it is a matter of personal preference. The field of view will be the same but you're right the mag will be better with the 10 x. For forest birding I prefer a lower mag as its generally easier to find your subject with lower mag. But a greater mag obviously gets you closer. So the choice is yours!

Great video. We have a home on the Riviera Nayarit very close to Zacualpan and have been trying to get more birders to come visit. We're alway blown away by how many different types of birds we see when we visit. If you need a spot to stay on your next trip down we'd be happy to trade a stay for some birding info, just let me know if you're interested. Thanks! Eli

Thank you so much! What if I got Monarch 7 (10 x42)? Is there any advantage in having 8 x 42 vs a 10 x 42? My thinking is that 10 x 42 gives you a greater magnification.

Hi Chase - I use two different Nikon binoculars. I use the Monarch 7 (8 x 42) for around $500 and the EDG (8 x 42) Nikon binoculars at around $2,400. Both are excellent binoculars and I would say the Monarch 7 is the best binocular in terms of value for money. You can get them at B&H or at opticsplanet online. Good luck!

I sure hope those are not my last glimpses of life as a dinosaur approaches, ha. La Tovara outside of San Blas was fun. Just that the Noseeums ate you alive if you were not slathered.

Hi James, I was wondering if you could tell me what model binocular you are using and what the distance and diameter of the lens are? Also if you could give me the price too that would be great. Thanks a lot!

I’ve birded with Mark in San Blas. He’s an excellent guide. James is a little over the top though. The feigned excitement makes it hard to get through an entire video.

what's with this terrible choice of music in the background? Wonderful bird spotting, lowsy editing. I'm out.
