Agreed. That's why professional skate vids have very basic angles generally. They understand it's about the athlete and not flashy and confusing camera work.
@@TurntBucket Yeah, I kinda relate it to fight scenes in movies. I prefer more of a wide shot and good choreography where you see everything happening, instead of just nonstop cuts and a shaky camera to hide the fact that they're not really doing anything impressive.
The guy that took the surfboard while surfing in few seconds after he changes surfboards while surfing and dolphins are shown playing in the waves behind him. They cut that shot off too quick 12:29

Not that the shot isn't "cool" but when I'm focused on the athlete going off a ramp or whatever then the camera suddenly speeds up, rotates 360 and whatnot my eyes lose track! I KNOW what they're doing is impressive but the camerawork isn't doing it justice. Movies do it with action all the time like the recent Mortal Kombat had 2 very good capable and badass actors who couod actually do the martial arts and well choreographed fights however the editing took so much away from how good it looked.

Yeah some of the camera work is too flashy. Also, some of the sports im more familiar with a lot of the clips are just average. They are not the most amazing things done. Still fun to watch but they could have picked out the actual pinnacle of the sport.
I found the music far too annoying. And i wasn’t that impressed with most of them. Jumping out of a plane or skiing of a cliff and pulling a parachute isn’t a skill. It’s brave/stupid but not a skill. Doing a triple somersault and landing on your hands without breaking the quaver you hid between your ass cheeks is a skill
