That was fun. And you're right about this being needed in schools. Most history I know doesn't come from school cuz no teacher I had made it engaging and interesting, it was always so dry and boring.
I can't believe people are still reacting to this video even over 2 years later that's pretty insane and just shows how popular this video is. Anyway loved your reaction and definitely subbed.
We actually have no idea. Not like there are written records of the reason, so everything is just speculation. Another speculation is that they named Greenland Greenland to encourage settlers to come or that the first time the saw Iceland, they came from the south east, where the first thing you see is a giant gletcher, while they came to Greenland in the 2 weeks in the summer where the coastal areas, at least, actually are super green.
People learn and remember what they learn much better when they are entertained. They did a study a while back where they asked people where they get their news, and then asked them questions in the news at the time. It was to see who was best informed. The people who said they watched late night comedy shows like The Daily Show, Tonight Show, Seth Myers, etc were the most informed. And the ones who watched CNN, Fox, MSNBC were the least informed lol. So the same tactic should be used in schools. I bet it would greatly improve scores.
I couldn't finish this video, I didn't even make it 5 minutes. I could feel myself losing brain cells so I had to stop while I can still think for myself
@@SakiBlablabla sorry.. that's a myth. Greenland was not covered in trees and grass when the Vikings settled there. There was a little strip of green on the southern tip.. still is.. the rest was ice that is now melting like never before.
@@SakiBlablabla There are texts by norse people from that times and Greenland was describes as "icy land" , so no. You're wrong. The ice sheet of Greenland is at least 400.000 years old. And yes, there was something called the "medieval climatic anomaly" or the "medieval warm period" and there is evidence that because of that warm period there was a bit of green and some trees near the coast. But the medieval warm period was not a global thing and most "heated" regions were not warmer than they are today. However, other areas were colder and the world wide temperature was colder, too Like that was the pattern for the medieval climatic anomaly compared to a period between 1961 and 1990: static.skepticalscience.com/images/Temperature_Pattern_MWP.gif And that's the pattern for 1999 to 2008 compared to the same period between 1961 and 1990: static.skepticalscience.com/images/Temp_Pattern_1999_2008_NOAA.jpg

You are hilarious and your bride...well she is just fricken gorgeous. You'll should do more videos together. Your interactions with each other are awesome. Truly enjoy watching your reactions. Oh and happy birthday...you beat me by five days
"The Ocean Is Way Deeper Than You Think"
I loved this! Great info. Have you guys reacted to the Oversimplified videos of The American Revolution, The Civil War any war really! They're just like this and very interesting! I love them!
“It’s cause I am so mind your business” 😂😂 happy birthday man, keep up the good work!
I studied Western CIV for 2 semesters in College! I learned more in 20 minutes of this dude's video than any lecture!
“do you know where we at” “no” as he talks about the freedom of slaves
Yes, more of these and comedy vids, with the Queen too, of course! Happy Birthday! Glossy eyed lol. Have a fun and safe evening ya'll!
Happy Birthday and so loving the hat❤
It’s true and more involved. It covers everything in a faster pace. Still it covers everything! So if I was teaching history, I would show this and break it down to certain time frames to look back and get a little more information to teach.
He does have a "kid friendly" version that doesn't have the swears in it.
@TheTommyGunz ' It's not made by him, someone else edited out all of them
Most of the kids over 10 swear worse than the video.
That was fun. And you're right about this being needed in schools. Most history I know doesn't come from school cuz no teacher I had made it engaging and interesting, it was always so dry and boring.
"I'm a professional"
😂
I can't believe people are still reacting to this video even over 2 years later that's pretty insane and just shows how popular this video is. Anyway loved your reaction and definitely subbed.
Greenland is icy, and iceland is green, if i remember correctly they misnamed them to keep out raiders
@@Sigart oh ok well thanks for informing me.
This was cool!!!!! Funny af too! Thanks for the laughs L & Queen!
Do “the universe is way bigger than you think” and “the ocean is way deeper than you think”
Watched an ad on your video not for the support but it was actually interesting for once. Happy bday fam
“Hey wanna go out?”
“No.”
“Why??”
*"Because the sun is a Deadly Lazer!"*
“Oh..”
This actually helps a lot with the AP World Exam. Just research a little of each topic individually and you will ace that course and pass the exam.
Your Greenland and Iceland comment is wrong.
It was actually right at the time the Vikings discovered and named it ! Natural climate change exists to !
@@SakiBlablabla no , greenland was covered in ice & iceland covered in green, he didnt notice that the guy who found them swapped the names.
However, other areas were colder and the world wide temperature was colder, too
Like that was the pattern for the medieval climatic anomaly compared to a period between 1961 and 1990: static.skepticalscience.com/images/Temperature_Pattern_MWP.gif
And that's the pattern for 1999 to 2008 compared to the same period between 1961 and 1990: static.skepticalscience.com/images/Temp_Pattern_1999_2008_NOAA.jpg
So great that you even WATCHED THIS. There’s way too many people that don’t even wanna know. This is the best we know. Let’s want more knowledge. You seem to want that....I hope. Have faith. Life is life. Death is death. Take a look or don’t. Y’all looked. That’s great. But don’t stop. It’s changing everyday.😃👊🏽
Ah yes the Moors conquest definitely a key aspect of education that needs to be implemented into the American school curriculum.
A great paper book to buy your children (and yourself) is A Cartoon History of the Universe (Parts I, II, and III) by Larry Gonick. He also writes a series of explanatory books in traditionally dry and difficult subjects like Physics, Calculus, Genetics, Statistics.
Imagine this being in school the only way to hear it is in class then the teacher says to take notes this will be on the test. How the hell do you keep up?
well after they've seen this, they've already learned more than you can put in test... easier is to just let kids discuss this, they'll remember that class like 9/11
One thing to remember about steam power. English will always refer to a Scot as Scottish until he does something really important, like James Watt. Then all of a sudden he’s “British”.
Now try "The universe is bigger than you think"
13:46 only a fellow music major would hear your ode to the history of japan's, "how about sunrise land" melody.... smooth sir, real smooth!
Please do the oversimplified videos now starting with world war 1
