Diamond is the hardest known material to
date, with a Vickers hardness in the range
    of 70-150 GPa. Diamond demonstrates
    both high thermal conductivity and
    electrically insulating properties, and much
attention has been put into finding practical
    applications of this material.
Lonsdaleite is also an allotrope of a carbon
atom which is considered a 58% harder
material than the diamond because of the
enhancement of bone density per unit area
and it has a hexagonal geometry.

Speakers “disappear” just like your bank account balance will. For those in which “to much is just not enough”. Interesting that most designers with a sloped cabinet typically put the slope at the front baffle in order to achieve some level of physical time alignment of the drivers. The slope is at the rear of this cabinet. 🖖🏽

@Adrian so this was a hard one; cause most of the video you refused to turn the wrist, so all I can see was a buckle. Perhaps it is a deployant buckle but I am not sure.
Onto the watch; now, at close to just about the 7 minute mark, is when I got a closer look, I could be wrong, but is this a two tone possibly like you had with the Rolex GMT? Based on the case shape and the octagonal bezel, one single crown, no other pushers, I am leaning towards an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. I want to say maybe this is 39mm? Again, this is all a guess, roughly. You can again tell me how far I am off.
By the way, I also did get to hear these Acoras at the Axpona 24 just a few months back, driven with VAC gear. It is great sounding, obviously hardly any cabinet coloring added to it. But man, at prices not many can afford. I would also imagine getting these speakers around the house would be quite a lot.

You are AMAZING! Yes, 2 tone RG/Tantalum with slate dial. I may have to get out my collection of Swatch to see if you are as encyclopedic about those as you are about everything else! lol

    • @woody168
      @woody168 Месяц назад

@@adrianlow2114 RG and tantalum? Not many makers use tantalum as material. Way back when I knew Panerai used it on one of their models, and also F.P. Journe. Did not know AP use tantalum also. Very unique.
And is that a custom strap? I don’t think I often see a Royal Oak that’s not on a bracelet. So I wonder if it is a custom leather strap.
Last but not least, I think I have had two Swatches, way back when. So I definitely won’t know, unless you happen to own the two new collabs that Swatch did on Speed master or Fifty Fathom, as they are easier to spot. 😊

    • @adrianlow2114

@@woody168 It's an original AP leather strap. Watch is pretty rare by Royal Oak standards, I haven't seen another. Maybe because everyone wants the big RO. I bought a bunch of Swatches for fun way back, not sure where they are now. Might have to get some time and go to the deposit box to get more watches for you to spot! lol.

Heard the Acora speakers at Capital Audio last year and found them painfully bright, shrill really and the sound presentation stabbing and pummeling, desperate to impress and almost instantly fatiguing. The granite is sort of cool but if I want high end sculpture I’ll just hit the galleries in Chelsea.

Wow.... It's gorgeous but it's $218K USD ! Don't know why... It makes an Audi R8, with easily 100x the number of parts, seem like a total bargain as it is so much more complicated machine than a speaker !

The manufacturing cost of a unit depends on how many they sell. It often costs hundreds of millions to design and create a production line for a new car. If Acora could sell 50,000 of them, then they could make them for a lower cost. There is undoubtably a substantial cost in fabricating a speaker out of solid granite slabs into that particular shape. Also, don't forget that dealer cost (what Acora gets when selling to a retailer) for audio equipment is usually about 60% of MSRP.
