They should do the ranked loot pool split always as it lets pros have what they want and casuals what they want. It gives both sides what the want and everyone gets to have fun.
I don’t know why but chapter 3 feels like it was the last chapter that truly felt like Fortnite. It kept story, mixed cartoonish and realistic graphics well, and had excellent loot pools
Eh I disagree......I think chapter 4, even thought artsyle was lacking......was better then chap 3, mainly cause chap 4 season 1 had probaly the strongest start to a chapter
I honestly think that Reload should be build only and regular Battle Royale should be Zero Build only. Either that or just openly choose to focus on one mode for one game at the direct expense of the other, because designing the zero build game around features that aren't even in it is dumb.
@@MEMELORD-9582 yeah it'd be pretty much impossible to keep a game so good for like 7 years or however long fn has been out. It's just that they make some truly mind bogglingly stupid decisions. i took a long break pretty much from c2s3 to the start of whatever chapter it is now, so I don't know what happened there, but some stuff recently i just don't get. There was not a single person asking for a movement change or even worse the locker UI, that thing is so unbelievably bad that whoever made it should be ashamed of themselves. Also why not have a weekly rotation of the chapter 1 seasons and have that be a playable game mode at any time? maybe its some code shit idk but that would be amazing. And the more realistic, basic style was so weird at the start. It felt like i was playing PUBG or CoD or something. Fortnite is just a money making device now and lost a lot of its original identity. Now its just the battle royale game with all those collabs.
@@ZOZOYOYO69the locker ui was complaint about a lot when it was introduced even made epics too yi designer for fn private all his socials same goes for the movement too but the cars and Zeus mythic have completely overshadowed those problems
@@ZOZOYOYO69the collabs are fine with me tbh because it’s a game about the omniverse so it makes sense also it’s just really fun to play as goku or wolverine and peter griffin it’s not like how cod does it which is nice too
Truth is the whole argument is pointless because at the end of the day it’s just a game where goku Travis Scott and Peter griffin can do the griddy together while Ariana grande snipes Deadpool
The only thing this season proves is that the casual and competitive loot pools need to be separated. Cars have no place in competitive Fortnite lobbies. But why do people hate them in pubs? I also have to say that I am a purely Zero Build Player, so I probably had a lot more fun with this season than the build players, but still. It’s pubs for a reason. If you don’t want overpowered items, ranked should be the place for that. It just sucks that the Fortnite devs can’t seem to grasp that concept. If this season would’ve launched with no Nitro or cars in ranked, I think a lot less people would’ve been upset. The argument that cars have no place in ranked is valid because ranked should be where you go to have a competitive and skill based experience. But if people say that cars and nitro shouldn’t be in pubs that’s just arguably incorrect, because pubs is just for fun.
@@rasberiii I’m not saying whether it’s fun or not (although I personally enjoyed this season) my point was that, fun or not, broken items should be allowed in pubs, because they’re not competitive.
No one wants to play a game, even casually, where some people are in tanks that go 200 mph and can practically one shot you. It’s one thing to be skilled enough that a worse player will struggle massively to beat you, but when ANY player can legit hop in a car and instantly be on par with people several times better than them, that isn’t fun. If there was some sort of skill based progression to the cars, no one would have really cared. Instead, you just drive over an upgrade and are thanos on crack. They changed the core gameplay loop far too much, they then added things to counter what was obviously too overpowered, and then they gave us a taste of what the season could’ve looked like without all the bullshit.
@@LeeSimp9029 okay, but if you want to play a mode without those things that’s why ranked is there. It just sucks that Fortnite didn’t separate the loot pools until halfway through the season. I’m not saying they were perfectly implemented, oh goodness was the first few days of this season psychotic, but clearly some people do enjoy the cars, or else why would Twitter and RUclips comment sections have been war zones.
@@invertedLOL because twitter is known for having a calm and collected discussion between people who definitely aren’t terminally online XD. A small minority of players being glad that they can finally get kills in anything other than zero build doesn’t mean the season is liked by the casuals. Look at season OG. It’s one of the best performing seasons ever and is way more comp friendly than this season. The cars are a literal nightmare and the only reason casuals didn’t riot over them is because they don’t play long enough, or to a high enough level, that they have enough real people in one game to cause the real issues with the cars. Either way, it’s the people who don’t actually want to play Fortnite(ZB players) that are enjoying the cars because it entirely changes the way the game is played. ZB is unironically the worse decision epic has ever made because it created an entire section of the community who are playing a fundamentally different game, but expect to be catered to as if they are the core experience. This is the same accusation levied at comp players, and yet we’re the ones who actually enjoy the games base functionality and don’t want it to be disrupted in favor of people who refuse to learn the system. Also they only split the loot pools for two weeks, so it doesn’t even really count.
I think i hated this season so much because of ALL the imbalance. Also, it felt like the team at epic games had a midlife crisis and decided to throw sand at the map.
Chapter 1 and 2 had basically the same lootpool the entire chapter. It was weapons we were familiar with and knew how to use. Why do they keep recycling weapons to be worse? Why can't we just stick to the chapter 1/2 lootpool with the basic guns we were so familiar with and they add other stuff on top of it.
@@Canadatmeh not all games constantly feel the need to replace weapons with same but worse versions of them and that doesnt cause them a problem, and i dont see why anyone would care about that kind of "variety"
they dont have to stick to the same base lootpool, if they actually change something significantly (like when they added the red dot ars or when they added weapon mods for example) i think the striker, nemesis, and enforcer ar should have been all the chapter 5 ars and just gotten balance changes for example, it would result in a fun ar meta with multiple good options instead of a complete mess like now and it wouldnt take away from actual variety
Cannot believe I found an online creator who actually effectively criticizes casuals on twitter who think they represent every non pro player in the game while not also moving up dumb pros like Clix who just can't create a sentence that doesn't involve women or fortnite comp.
Why am I low key getting nostalgia for ch5 s1 lol The medallions, the snow, and the vibes were just great and the addition of Lego, racing, and signing were great
I hate medallions & c5 movement but they were definitely on to something, just had bad execution and abandoned some features as they always tend to do.
cause it was unironically fun. im pretty much a fortnite purist (as in I think ch1 was the best time for the game and it would benefit from going back permanently) but I can honestly be on board with ch5s1. Nothing rediculously over the top, medallions were busted but they got nerfed. genuinely a fun season that felt like fortnite
2 things: 1. Epic has to keep super casuals and unskilled people happy, to keep them playing and spending money in the game, by adding overpowered things especially since Disney is so invested in Epic now. 2. The building mechanic was never expected to be as insanely high skilled as it is now. The skill ceiling is way too high now, and casuals know that, so why would they spend hours and hours and hours practicing the building mechanic for a game they only play for fun? Those are the reasons we have and will continue to have broken items and weapons for casual players to use.
Ive played Fortnite for alot of time since chapter 1 season 4 and i aint good i get destroyed by sweats all the time but having unbalanced items isnt a fix this season was the least I've played
Best way to fix all of this? separate loot pools, keep the sweat infested side of both zb and builds dead from fun, 0 mobility items and just sweat galore and push build players that are sneaking in to zb back to builds or high ranked zb. oh and nerf damage values instead of cooldown
I love how you brought up that building was not intended to have as high of a skill gap as it does. It was originally designed for the tower defense type play style of Save the World that was moved over to BR. The trailers released by Fortnite know this, showing very minimal and simplistic uses of building.
@@cyberdragon5247 yeah if epic never updated the building mechanics from click to build to hold to build the game would've stayed as it was meant to (not saying that the change was bad, i played once or twice when the change still hadn't been made and building felt awful)
As someone who is 100% a casual player, I agree with everything you, and everyone else featured in this video said. You all bring up points that are 100% valid, and that I myself, can see the flaws in this season. Does that mean I dislike it? No, I think that this season is a 8.5/10, but does that mean I can't see the faults in this season, absolutely not. Almost every fault and criticism that people have towards this season I think is valid. Absolutely GOATed video, can't wait to see what you think of this upcoming season.
@@emilydavidson8844 goes through walls, blocks all damage where you hold it in front of you, can hit a whole squad, does 60 damage, breaks wood walls when running with it, and with the auto turret you can be defensive and offensive at once.
The editing is top notch, really well made. Next season just needs balance (and mid season map updates) to make it truly enjoyable for anyone and everyone. I may be biased but something older chapters and chapter 4 (specifically season 4) did pretty well was that you could play in different ways. You could try to play like a sweat or just rocket ram around the map. When everyone is forced to confine to a specific play style, no one is satisfied. It reminds me of how SEGA has for years now, been rushing sonic projects and slowly killing the hedgehog. When you try to please everyone, you end up pleasing no one. But it’s all about balance. Without balance, you are left with discord and disharmony, and with a community like Fortnite, that’s the worst possible thing you can do for a chapter/season.
7:13 ngl the nitro fists dmg and fast attcks arent really the problem.......the problem Is that there aoe is WAY BIGGER THEN IT LOOKS, and rhey also have an AUTO TARGETTING feature on them.....along with knockback sending u FLYING Like the dmg and attack speed is fine.....but add all those other features and good lord
Knock back is the best thing about them in my opinion, because it knocks you out of fist range. Leaving you a brief window to run, or nitro, or hop in a random car.
The thing is, what the people that say "sweats don't like fun" are not willing to accept the fact, that some people don't like mindlessly pressing a few buttons to win. What I'm saying here, is that (ex. me) like actually thinking about our next moves, and like seeing it pay off with a large damage number or the winning of a round. Now, I'm not a hypercasual player, but I do play the game for fun. I found almost the entire beginning of the season boring, because of the op car and weapon meta. I didn't have to plan or think about my next moves, because I knew I would easily win the fight with nitro fists, cars or just running through the bix of someone. I have to agree, that the car fights were sometimes fun, but they got boring after a while. I am the type of person that does not like to turn their mind off completely. As I have said before, I (and presumably others) like seeing our thinking and time put into the game pay off with wins, kills and whatever your goal is. I find it fun you may not, but that doesn't mean that the fun should be ripped away from these types of players, just to please people who cannot think and plan properly, and are still gonna enjoy the game, even if a mindless way of killing everyone is to be removed.
As a casual player, it feels horrible that most pros think all people who don’t compete loved this season. I despised this season bc the guns became redundant in that the nitro fists and cars were the best form of attack, which isn’t ok in a br game
All the ppl who hated s3 arent actual fortnite players, EVERY SINGLE SEASON HAS OP STUFF AND METAS, like ch2s4 mythics were op, midas drum gun was op, nitro fists are op, havoc pump is the best shotgun in existence, and now WAR MACHINE ARSENAL TEARS THROUGH ALL MY WALLS, AND IN ZERO BUILD YOU COOKED
Yeah, I didn't like last season and I'm a casual. I feel like it's unfair to say 'You're either casual or comp' cause like, what if I play the game not competitively, but still want to win. I don't play ranked cause it's full of sweats and I get dogged by everyone. Last season it was the exact same in pubs, but this time, I couldn't tell weather it was a good player or a bad one. Every season has OP stuff... doesn't mean we can't dislike it
@@KobraArabplease most of the offensive mythics in C2S4 literally balanced out each other for the most part so idk even why you bring up that szn where literally no one complained about the mythics/loot pool because it was never a case of having a 0% sun chance in a fight all because one person has a mythic you don’t have. Last season you would get screwed over 9/10 games if you didn’t have any form of prominent mobility (I.e. shockwaves, Nitro Fists or a car)
@@KobraArabthere’s a difference between having strong weapons in the loot pool and having op weapons which completely upset and override anything else in the loot pool
What are you on about, if you liked season 3 your not a real fornite player, all those things were op but at least they could be countered, not nitro fist💀
Just found your channel, and i have to say, its a breath of fresh air to watch some "essay-like" overview and opinion-based content like yours in the fortnite scene, where every major content creator seems to be recycling the same content over and over to cater to their audience. Loved the video, and droppin a sub!
Honestly where I drew the line was how absurd the late game meta of the season became. Boogie Bombs were a pain early on but got vaulted anyway, and then by the end you had Nitro Fist escapes, Underworld Dashes left over from Season 2 (and still there for season 4 judging by previews), Magneto's Powers able to instantly shut down any vehicle and obliterate them, Boom Bolt spam which combined with the infinite ammo medallion was a complete lockdown on anyone that dared get in the user's path _and_ incessant sniper oppression, Crash Pad Jrs. and Shockwave Grenades to quickly get everywhere and so forth. The most controversial part of the season, the _cars_ , were virtually invalidated for anything but escapes or a jackass driving by clowning on undergeared players in the early game, because everyone would just spam their shutdowns and high-damage meta weapons and then immediately fly off to patch up and no one could do anything about it. I hate that I had to use Nitro Fists and Magneto Powers to effectively win a few games towards the end there because if you didn't, you simply lost, plain and simple. Well, besides that one time the last guy with all three medallions decided to jump-slide at me after I took out his boss car, and he went right into my Uncommon Combat Shotgun's blasting. Which, if anything, highlighted that the moment you lose the cars, combat options became hilariously "throw face at other face until dead" because of how crappy the pool and meta became.
Exactly this. They overcompensated against the cars and by the end you couldn't even use them anymore, the only strategy in the game was nitro fists, flowberry fizz, and magneto gloves. Like, the battle bus, which is really cool, but balanced by being a REALLY big target and the gunners being exposed(and by the aim Sometimes just breaking?) became less than useless by the end of the season because they 1. Removed the horn EMP??? And 2. The magneto power was just a WIN button against it, there was no way to avoid getting stunlocked because of the size of a target it was, and the splash damage meaning they could also hit players on the guns at the same time
My take on season 3, I’m a casual player. Cars were broken, nitro fists were infuriating, and above all the magneto gloves were horrendous. However I like there were ways to fight back, especially when the mini gun came back for a bit. Edit: season 4 is a whole different ball game. I got to “adapt.“
Casual players who say "adapt" are not casual players, they are grifters that get off on pubstomping noobs and then complain when the playing field is evened and they can't get wins.
Holy shit that's what I've been trying to say, the reason they are so defensive about it is because without no brain items and mechanics they would be nothing. Very funny when they are the ones who have started using adapt 😂 Kinda like people who loved season x, they don't love the season because they got to play against the mechs. They love it because they were in the mechs
I personally loved this season. Speaking as a casual zero build player, imo the cars shook up the meta in a great and fun way once the nerfs came in and balanced things out. Even before the nerfs i was having a blast, but i can recognize how broken they were at the start and feel like they made things unfair then. I loved the nitro splash, used it any chance i could, and the nitro fists were fun, though they coulda used a bit more balancing. I understand how these things created a worse environment for the comp scene and feel that splitting the loot pools moving forward is the best course of action, but damn if i didnt love this season and have tons of fun😎
this video was the perfect explanation for this season. i can understand from both the competitive and casual player base as ive been a longtime, mostly casual, gamer who can still build like a knowledgeable competitive player and enjoy the occasional ranked games. saying the fault truly lies in epic games and the way they either test or don't test how new features can impact their community is the most honest and truth answer i have heard. thank you for making this video and ill be sure to share this with my other friends who ive had an issue with on this exact topic.
Even as a casual the cars were a pain. The idea of them was cool but if you got rolled up on and didn’t have mobility items or the one item that could counter them you would be fucked and if you were the one in the car it was super boring because you would just lazer someone for a second while being shielded inside your car and move on. And if you both had cars well you can’t drive and shoot at the same time so you just end up wishing you could both get out of the car and move while shooting and aiming like normal.
Genuinely top quality FN content that isint just content farm slop every time a new healing item gets added to the game. Hope you become one of the top creators on the game brother.
Hey, if I can give this season credit for anything, i think Festival is finally a mode worth getting into. The metallica event was awesome, and i love how Epic is actually fully comitting to these other game modes becoming core parts of fortnite, with more artists collabing and metallica music being heard on the map in BR mode, even the ability to play jam tracks in the lobby is a great addition.
Alot of people wish this season never happened but i think it's better this was the season we got it tought epic games not to do something like this again the community was literally ripped apart and i dont think the community will ever be the same after this season.
I feel like this season and season X are a lot similar but they went different routes for season X I feel like the only bad thing was the mechs and they kinda nerfed them but it was only the mechs but this season it’s everything. The cars, the fists, the nitro, magneto gloves, how most the shot guns are spam shot guns, bringing back the mini gun. I feel like this season was on the route to become a decent season at the end, but they just keep adding more stuff(such as the mini gun and magneto fist) that just makes this season worse. There were no nerfs to the fists from stoping them fisting you in your box, there was no nerfs on the magneto power, and there was no bug fixes such as the 300 damage glitch with the spiked bumber or the bug where you slide into someone with nitro they go flying into the air and take fall damage. This season, pretty much every game I went straight to lobby. Ranked, normal br, cash cups(well you’re suppose to anyway) and I’m saying this as a mostly casual player that’s how bad a season. I never liked the cars or fists I’ve always despised them. I’d also like to mention reload was kinda carrying the season at one point then fell off when they added trash guns. This season will definitely be known as one of the worst seasons of Fortnite, if not THE worst season of Fortnite.
I think Klarque Clint made a really good video on ch5s3. One of the best points he made is that fortnite has shyed away from its roots so many times that it doesn’t really have an identity anymore, and that’s okay! Taking ch2s4 for example, marvel powers that could grab you from inside your box definitely shyed away the “main meta” that revolves around building, but people hold that season to high standards. I overall enjoyed the season, I felt the content overall was great and the updates made the game feel fresh. Cars, fists, and nitro were definitely broken on launch, and while fun, needed a nerf. The main issue definitely lies with epic and the decision not to have two separate loot pools. A chaotic season can work for both sides of the community if there’s an escape (i.e. ranked playlist with a different loot pool), but it happened too little too late. Additionally, I don’t think you can call a season “objectively” bad. I think there’s so many factors that go into a season to the point where it’s impossible to give a definite score to it. Lootpool, mechanics, atmosphere, skins, events, story, ltms (if epic make any) all go into a season and define its appearance. Unless you can “objectively” comment on all of those factors, I don’t think you can objectively rate a season. The season may be a 3/10 to you, but I don’t think it’s an overall objective rating.
I get where you’re coming from. But the comparisons with chapter 2 season 4 kinda doesn’t work because yes the there was broken mythic but. The loot pool was better, the loot pools were separate and the live event at the end was sick. Like this season felt so much better since not every item felt like a crutch. I’m not saying hate on this season but people like mujy adore Ch2 S4 and despise ch5 S3
i think one of the biggest nails in the coffin was the magneto mythic because cars became completely unusable and every player has to carry it like a crutch or else you lose theres 0 counterplay to it
I might be autistic but I fuck with this season so hard. But shit was busted beyond repairing from day one. Sorry for my competitive brothers. Me and my no build girlfriend had a blast
Ngl I loved the cars this season but not because I used them offensively (I personally used them for strictly moving across the map and actively tried to avoid hitting people or getting weapon boxes and destroyed boss cars if I got the medallion) but because I would always carry EMPs and having people so reliant on cars that EMPing them basically guaranteed a free kill.
For me, for what it's worth I enjoyed Chapter 5 Season 3, I guess for me I enjoyed the chaos from it. There's that chaotic bliss you feel when you get there that chaos and mayhem and surviving through it.
Its fucking crazy that the zipline glitch back in CH1 season 7 that destroyed every structure you touched got added as an actual feature THATS BETTER THAN THE GLITCH ITSELF!!
for me I liked that season, most chaotic season ever, they should make more seasons with a meta being different from using assault and pump every game the problem is the lootpool in the different modes, maybe they should make different changes for normal build and no build (Im so mad they bringing back magneto mythic btw)
If my dumbass could get 40 bomb in squads with none of teamates getting out of their cars the whole game, its busted, also i had 147 thousand damage to structures
@@dankobatistic8143 Nah this community is stupid, the items this season are even more broken, why were yall complaining about fists and cars, AND NOT ROCKETS THAT GO THROUGH WALLS AND A SHIELD THAT CAN KILL A WHOLE SQUAD
I didn't realize how... I don't want to say *bad* because I enjoyed the season overall, so, I guess I didn't realize how _frustrating_ ch.5 season 3 was until I started playing the new Marvel season. It's not perfect, the new season has its own issues, but with the lack of anything that brought down season 3, the cars, the loot pool, the cars, the medallions, Nitro, the _F*CKING_ cars, (I'm a Zero Build player and even I got tired of the cars by the end, holy hell) etc, I found that I was enjoying myself a lot more and honestly playing a lot better. This could just be recency bias, I'm aware, but right now I'm looking back at season 3 and thinking "damn, that sh!t kinda sucked" and I haven't felt that way about any other season in the chapter.
tbh this season kinda reminds me how people feel about cold war zombies people like it because is easy and doesnt take long to set up while people hate it because its too easy and theres a lot of get out jail free cards etc
Honestly, if cars weren't so easy to heal, they'd at least make sense. That's the biggest problem in my opinion about the cars, like what's the point in using the blowtorch if every gas station and cactus does it while giving you defense? Just making it only heal up to 1/3rd would make cars way less bulky, and thus way more easy to deal with. As for the gauntlets, reducing their size is the only solution here, that hitbox is ridiculous. The rest is well balanced, but those two completely turn it into a game where my dumbass killed a squad and then died to a cliff... I should have died to the 4 man team here, not my ineptitude. Like it's fun, but i should not be ruining people's day by being a bumbling moron that dropped in from halo reach and doesn't know nor wants to know how to build.
My whole take on the season is that players who dont enjoy a season can just go play something else, you aren't bound to battle royale, and then the next season will most likely go back to normal like it mostly has this season, there are SO MANY other things in fortnite to do or even other games to play. There is something for everyone, Box pvp for build players or really anything for casuals. Instead of demanding change for yourself(whether casual or competitive) just let people enjoy it and go do something else.
as you said about comparing this season to season X it unfun, because as an casual it just gave me that feeling from the start of the season literally day 1. i don't like building because am not skillful enough to do all that shit, but even then this was just either get 1 tap by someone you didn't see or can't kill an player because they nitro fist out of their in game about using an gun.

The problem in my opinion was that Epic applied everything that could be a solution. At the same time: nerfs, counters, and alternatives. If only minor nerfs had been left, the counters, and the alternative, because in the end the cars were useless, and I still think that a goddamn box shouldn't be the solution to every situation in game, the people complains on how easy it is to run into a box with nitro or a car and destroy it but it's equally easy to hold a wall and it doesn't even depend on the player but on his internet, and I'll defend this season because it was overall a good season a 9/10. I will listen to any argument against it.
8:54 Did the teaming thing one time, I ended up jumping into the Boss SUV with another player and an NPC (NPC tried to shoot me while inside the car but no luck lol); We both sat in the vehicle refusing to change seats until another player ran in and got in the car as well. It was practically a clown car with the three of us trying to shoot each other while the dude at the driver's seat was practically our Uber driver. It was one of the few times I wish proximity chat was a thing in this game because the arguments might have been hilarious.
I’ll be honest, this whole community is so sweaty and lifeless, i have played 3 matches so far in this new season and i couldn’t even level up once, let alone get past the top 25, so i am doing what i would recommend anyone who used to play this game because it’s fun, put it down for good and play other games
i know some people may not like or agree with what i'm about to say but i feel that the fact that reload builds has more players than normal BR and that reload zero builds has less players than zero builds BR proves a sorta idea i've had recently which is that build players don't like when there are hard counters to builds and why that whenever a season has any hard counters to builds they don't like it because what they are used to using to protect themselves or use as an advantage in a fight doesn't work. Where as in zero builds the said items that are hard counters to builds aren't since there are no builds allowing for the items to be more perceived as fun since there is no worry of them being hard counters to the normal flow of the game. I'd like to state i'm going based of the assumption that alot of the casual players are playing zero builds and that the competitive, sweats, try hards, or whatever you want to call them are playing builds.
I am not going to pretend this season was balanced, it wasn't. I am a casual player, this season was fun for awhile but then slowly overtime got more frustrating, you can only have a game filled with people destroying you with cars, Nitro Fists being over all busted, and every interaction turn into a game of tag because everyone just runs away with the cars and nobody wants to fight for so long until it gets old and annoying, It really was too much.
6:22 Course even without Nitro, it's still possible to yeet people off high places and eliminate them through fall damage. It's just harder to pull off because it's situational.
I know this late as we are in the new season, but do you guys want to hear something? This was the first time in a while that I managed to get to like lv. 200, all of the other seasons I barely scraped by to finishing the bonus rewards, Insane.
I... surprisingly agree with you on that. as much as I like flying though the map with what they added, the idea of outsmarting your opponent should be the main focus.
@@Accountthatexists I think that he is talking about how the game is played and things about the game not about how the game is made. The casuals saying that all you need to do is adapt is crazy. The pros know how to be good at the game and understand the items in the game more
As a casual player I found this season extremely irritating and I feel like this was the worst season EVER. I took a VERY long break after the mechs and I mean several years. I just couldn’t compete with the building, I was never that good in the first place since they added turbo building but I just couldn’t get it down. When they added no builds to whatever season it was I was excited to come back because I can finally show how good I was at shooting and I bought the battlepass the next few seasons because I was simply being outskilled and I appreciated it more. Simply “get better at aiming” and I did. This season it was just: land, get fists, get car, level up car, get kills/ get killed. It was brainless and dumb and yes they added counters but it was just way too much going on. I feel like ever since they added no builds they really revved up amount of collabs and broken items and it’s at the expense of making bad players feel good about themselves. DBZ- kamehameha wave, nimbus Spiderman- spider gloves JJK- hollow purple, nobara doll AOT- thunder spear, ODM gear TMNT- all the items Now marvel- ALL of those items look broken. I just want a good game, yes it’s Fortnite and it’s supposed to be wacky but it’s like if it’s a battle royale. They shouldn’t have to make it easy for people to get good.

I like Fortnite and I want it to succeed but the whole last season was literally Fortnite X Twisted Metal/ Hot wheels. It was built for children like you who are bad at the game and need crutch items. It was mindless and dumb.
as a casual player loved this season to no end, my most played season by far, love having stuff to mess around with, but since they've nerfed everything it just doesn't hit the same, cars get oneshot pretty much idk I feel like they were overnerfed. Don't get me wrong they definitely needed to be nerfed, but not this much, it's pure magneto diff at the end if you lose. Oh Maaaaaaan and the constant running away with Nitro Fists, Underworld Skulls, and Shockwaves only for them to creep up on you and snipe you, it's super lame wish people wouldn't be such little sweaty rats. great video!
One of the best videos i've seen in the Fortnite community, based on the memes and music i can already tell you have almost the same taste like me in media, that's what made the video funnier and better for me :)
They need to add Arena back. Ranked is so bad and the loot pool isn’t split and there’s no siphon. I don’t even play battle Royale anymore because there’s cars
Listen I don't mean this in a mean way, but comp players of Zero Build and Build are two different beasts. Build players literally binded their building to their scroll wheel of all things just so they could spam build, which is simultaneously skilless and skillful. Skillful because if you're going against someone else who's doing it, you actually have to be better at it. Skilless because if someone isn't adopting or abusing that strategy, you WILL win, and everybody who plays Build knows it. This is the situation you're kind of describing the game to be in, but not realizing that's how the game was before. Building isn't necessarily being hurt, *comp building* is getting hurt. I think that's intentional, and I think it's a good thing. Watching a Zero Build tournament and watching a Build tournament is watching the difference between someone who knows multiple mechanics and map layout and knows how to adapt and people who only know a handful of strats/builds and don't prioritize learning map layout. What I'm saying is- build comp players really do need to get better. Adapt. Maybe not to nitro fists, but to the idea of building not being as strong as it once was.
You do know that build comp players do the most map memorizing, right? They have drop maps to get precise drops, loot paths to get as much loot as possible in a certain time, surge paths to catch players, and deal damage to them for storm surge. And what I listed isn't even most of the preparation. With no foul intent behind this statement, you're simply just uneducated or ignorant of the actual knowledge and effort pros have in this game. And that's fine. Edit: btw nice sora pfp, hope he gets into fortnite🤞
Reminds me of HunterTV describing the same sort of issues in CoD. Like apples and oranges they both have similar problems of sweats vs casuals in that no side agrees with one another. Casuals call you out for using meta stuff meanwhile sweats call you out for using broken stuff, no side can ever like the other and despise one another because of large skill gaps.
I dont get the "its fun" and "comp players dont play to have fun", the people who loved the cars loved them because of how easy it was to win with them, which is litteraly playing to win and not playing for fun
I think this season was good but I will admit if someone doesn’t like this season I 100% understand I like that epic tried to do chaotic season but I also don’t like getting ran over by a car then the next match it’s the nitro fists so I understand but and the end of the day I did have fun making memories with my friends and hey maybe will look back and say “huh that season was kinda fun.” Probably not but I think I will I don’t think this season deserves as much hate as it gets but it think it’s a 5 maybe 6 out of ten
I mean hey, it's miles more balanced than this next season. I actually really liked it, Then again cars were never an issue for me. Out of like 300 rounds I can count the amount of times I've been killed by a car on one hand. Once they got shield breakers I honestly think this is pretty peak. I really don't understand why people hate this season for the cars, I feel the nitrofists are reasonably disliked because you don't really have to aim, it just tracks, and the damage isn't even bad to make up for it, when the mobility item is a solid replacement for your shotgun you have a problem. I'm glad that the 200-0 got fixed. I'm glad that the regeneration on the car was fixed. I'm glad the boogie bomb got removed. I liked how everything was really powerful, but had a counter. Yknow, except the fists. They don't really have a counter. I'm open to discussion on this, I guess I'd be considered a casual player. I don't get why people have such a hatred for this season exactly, because it was pretty fun IMO. I'm not under the belief that FN players just hate change, I am under the idea that while it was 100% a big change, I don't see how the supposedly best players at the game complain about being bad at this season. Anyone wanna explain why they personally disliked the season?
I honestly really enjoyed this season by the mobility this season provided and it genuinely was the most fun I had with a friend ever since chapter 1 season 7 when planes were a thing

But if people say that cars and nitro shouldn’t be in pubs that’s just arguably incorrect, because pubs is just for fun.
personally i dont find driving around for 20 minutes very fun, nobody takes fights it just feels stale

2 things:

Very funny when they are the ones who have started using adapt 😂

(Chapter 4)
I agree.
Yes hollow knight geezer
i think one of the biggest nails in the coffin was the magneto mythic because cars became completely unusable and every player has to carry it like a crutch or else you lose theres 0 counterplay to it
Layo be dropping cinematic intros like netflix documentaries! 🔥
I might be autistic but I fuck with this season so hard. But shit was busted beyond repairing from day one. Sorry for my competitive brothers. Me and my no build girlfriend had a blast
Your autistic, i loved the season too
Ngl I loved the cars this season but not because I used them offensively (I personally used them for strictly moving across the map and actively tried to avoid hitting people or getting weapon boxes and destroyed boss cars if I got the medallion) but because I would always carry EMPs and having people so reliant on cars that EMPing them basically guaranteed a free kill.
Epic replacing Augments with Medallions was the worst decision they've ever made imo... 🤦🏾♂️
for me I liked that season, most chaotic season ever, they should make more seasons with a meta being different from using assault and pump every game
the problem is the lootpool in the different modes, maybe they should make different changes for normal build and no build
(Im so mad they bringing back magneto mythic btw)
this is very well put together
0:00 hate to be that guy, but he has a point… Fortnite players can’t handle losing
So true
If my dumbass could get 40 bomb in squads with none of teamates getting out of their cars the whole game, its busted, also i had 147 thousand damage to structures
Yall get ready to see if the community is spilt tomorrow or not😭
Thankfully no
@@dankobatistic8143 Nah this community is stupid, the items this season are even more broken, why were yall complaining about fists and cars, AND NOT ROCKETS THAT GO THROUGH WALLS AND A SHIELD THAT CAN KILL A WHOLE SQUAD
@@KobraArab its not that deep
@@KobraArabfr i havent been able to play yet but imo i feel like it’s soooo broken but as long as im not getting sniped by magneto’s gloves im chill
ABSOLUTE BANGER of a video. Glad I got to be a part of it :)
This could just be recency bias, I'm aware, but right now I'm looking back at season 3 and thinking "damn, that sh!t kinda sucked" and I haven't felt that way about any other season in the chapter.
what a masterpeice of a video
tbh this season kinda reminds me how people feel about cold war zombies people like it because is easy and doesnt take long to set up while people hate it because its too easy and theres a lot of get out jail free cards etc
The ENTIRETY of this season can be summed up as “ It’s not fun until I have it”
My whole take on the season is that players who dont enjoy a season can just go play something else, you aren't bound to battle royale, and then the next season will most likely go back to normal like it mostly has this season, there are SO MANY other things in fortnite to do or even other games to play. There is something for everyone, Box pvp for build players or really anything for casuals. Instead of demanding change for yourself(whether casual or competitive) just let people enjoy it and go do something else.
OMG my three favourite fortnite youtubers were in this video Aggro, Lilsmurf and Layo
I’m not even a comp player and this was the worst season in history, worse than season X, and I didn’t think that was possible 💀
i really like your way you do your videos man, im happy that i subbed
as you said about comparing this season to season X it unfun, because as an casual it just gave me that feeling from the start of the season literally day 1. i don't like building because am not skillful enough to do all that shit, but even then this was just either get 1 tap by someone you didn't see or can't kill an player because they nitro fist out of their in game about using an gun.
Community in s3
Pros: they hate this season cuz the op stuff isnt a collab
Noobs: "Just adapt bro"
Casuals: This season is good
Casuals2: THIS IS THE WORST SEASOOIN NMTIJ NTHE GMAEWMEMEMME
Thinker: He likes this season even if stuff is op cuz he is a true fortnite enjoyer who knows that every season has a broken meta and we should just accept it
Me: IF YOU HATE THIS SEASON GO PLAY RANKED AND SHUT, IF YOU LOVE IT THEN GO PLAY IT AND SHUT + Thinker
0:10 reisshub moment
The problem in my opinion was that Epic applied everything that could be a solution. At the same time: nerfs, counters, and alternatives. If only minor nerfs had been left, the counters, and the alternative, because in the end the cars were useless, and I still think that a goddamn box shouldn't be the solution to every situation in game, the people complains on how easy it is to run into a box with nitro or a car and destroy it but it's equally easy to hold a wall and it doesn't even depend on the player but on his internet, and I'll defend this season because it was overall a good season a 9/10. I will listen to any argument against it.
Opinions,opinions... aren't they beautiful?
This season was absolutely terrible I hated it so much and I wish fornite never does something like this again
Yeah deleted that shit until we get the doom skin and the marvel knockout modes, just a boring meta 🫡
i know some people may not like or agree with what i'm about to say but i feel that the fact that reload builds has more players than normal BR and that reload zero builds has less players than zero builds BR proves a sorta idea i've had recently which is that build players don't like when there are hard counters to builds and why that whenever a season has any hard counters to builds they don't like it because what they are used to using to protect themselves or use as an advantage in a fight doesn't work.
200, all of the other seasons I barely scraped by to finishing the bonus rewards,
Insane.
I got level 400 i think and i hated that hellish season
This is a good documentary, nice job
layo i love your videos!!!!!! they make me smile and giggle
Hi
I can drive to either of your houses within 5 minutes.
1 min in and already hooked the intro was a BANGER! Cant wait to finish this video
This season had an all time low player account at times which shows casuals and competitive players don't enjoy the season.
June 12th saw 600,000 players, lowest in *recorded* Fortnite history.
what the sweats did is convert casuals into sweats, thus the game last season was the sweat paradise
This season gave the "casual" community an ego beyond comprehension thinking they were better than literal pros because of their dogshit advice.
Dude you’re part of the “casuals” you legit have zero earnings
I... surprisingly agree with you on that. as much as I like flying though the map with what they added, the idea of outsmarting your opponent should be the main focus.
Ok but having the one-sided narrative of "casuals madge, pros smart" Is not thinking with a nuance prospective
Shitty sweats will always ruin everything when they don't get their way.
DBZ- kamehameha wave, nimbus
Spiderman- spider gloves
JJK- hollow purple, nobara doll
AOT- thunder spear, ODM gear
TMNT- all the items
Now marvel- ALL of those items look broken.
I just want a good game, yes it’s Fortnite and it’s supposed to be wacky but it’s like if it’s a battle royale. They shouldn’t have to make it easy for people to get good.
Just put the fries in the bag bro, go play cod or apex or maybe Flipping pubg, the dont have the "worst" season or the wacky stuff, also calling this the "worst" is stupid bro didnt see primal or wilds 💀
@@KobraArab Idk what put the fries in the bag means lol. Cod and apex are also both extremely bad. I like Fortnite and I want it to succeed but the whole last season was literally Fortnite X Twisted Metal/ Hot wheels. It was built for children like you who are bad at the game and need crutch items. It was mindless and dumb.
The sad thing is cars will never be vaulted because they want to sell car skins
as a casual player loved this season to no end, my most played season by far, love having stuff to mess around with, but since they've nerfed everything it just doesn't hit the same, cars get oneshot pretty much idk I feel like they were overnerfed.
Banger intro. Can't wait to see what the fandom gets into a fight over next season!
New subscriber, love your content already
This vid cooks 🔥
6:37 LMFAOO youre actually great
Reminds me of HunterTV describing the same sort of issues in CoD. Like apples and oranges they both have similar problems of sweats vs casuals in that no side agrees with one another. Casuals call you out for using meta stuff meanwhile sweats call you out for using broken stuff, no side can ever like the other and despise one another because of large skill gaps.
I dont get the "its fun" and "comp players dont play to have fun", the people who loved the cars loved them because of how easy it was to win with them, which is litteraly playing to win and not playing for fun
jojo siwa instead of ring master scar made me laugh
I think this season was good but I will admit if someone doesn’t like this season I 100% understand I like that epic tried to do chaotic season but I also don’t like getting ran over by a car then the next match it’s the nitro fists so I understand but and the end of the day I did have fun making memories with my friends and hey maybe will look back and say “huh that season was kinda fun.” Probably not but I think I will I don’t think this season deserves as much hate as it gets but it think it’s a 5 maybe 6 out of ten
I mean hey, it's miles more balanced than this next season. I actually really liked it,
Then again cars were never an issue for me.
6:39 woah what!? I'm featured in your video lmao!? Thank you lol
Sup bro, yeah keep up the videos 😎
It was funny. But still fuck last season.
this season was so good but like the community has hit a new low of insufferable 😭

I loved this video, you made so many great points and really changed my perspective on the way I look at seasons now
Thank you!
Me and my friends had a saying when we see someone running away with the fists "when in doubt yank the fists out"
Great video with a fair perspective from both sides. 10/10 and Amazing editing.
I honestly really enjoyed this season by the mobility this season provided and it genuinely was the most fun I had with a friend ever since chapter 1 season 7 when planes were a thing
"you shouldn't be punished for fighting someone in a battle royal"
