#Boxing #History #Referee
Just got back from working a MMA event , and finishing post fight edits. I also got sick in the process so I got back to work revisioning these videos this morning. I will revision 2-3 more videos before working on a brand new video entirely , then get back to revisioning.

OfficeHanchoBoxing another great video. Don’t see referees given props. Nice work 👍👏
did you just re-upload this video for the second time ?
OfficeHanchoBoxing can you do a story on Avtandil Khurtsidze please
@@algie3189 grew comment white mike Tyson miss that guy
What a great video.
Referee: „No ones getting paid“
Dirty boxers: *immediately start bowing to each other*
That‘s all you gotta say as a referee
Lol
These guys aren't bowing to each other in any sense that they're showing respect to each other or the ref.. They're nodding their heads acknowledging that they understand what the ref said so if the ref does have to disqualify either participant, they were first given warnings and the information on how to avoid disqualification. Its simple acknowledgement, not respect or fear.
J Phizack it was just an example dude
@@alwaysdrunk5461 Oh I didnt know that. An example of what? I dont understand.
J Phizack that was just a joke. I didn‘t talk about this fight
“If I have to disqualify you, no ones getting paid” suddenly no cheating.
People put their feelings aside when it comes to money lol
That's the sign of a good ref, was it just a bluff? The fighters aren't going to risk finding out.
That dude who caught the guy who fainted is a brilliant ref!
random n stoned i pulled up the whole fight and it gets even better. It takes him awhile to get back to his senses, but him and the other fighter showed only respect for each other.
@@Dwarven_Soldier His father died a week or 2 before the fight. He was trying to win in his honor.
@@OfficeHanchoBoxing japanese fighter really going for a mile with their fighting spirit stuff, till their referee caught up and fail to do their job properly, this dangerous problem getting very dire till it got addressed in a fighting sport manga called shoukoshi kohinata minoru, where a ref letting a japanese fighter with a broken arm and leg continue to fight because he is showing fighting spirit, resulting the opponent left the ring and got ridiculed for unsportmanship conduct. Crazy japanese samurai spirit bull crap, They rather die than losing.
@@Dwarven_Soldier time stamp
I can just hear an armchair warrior bitching about how the ref is an idiot for stopping it too early or the ref is blind and then suddenly going completely silent when he sees the disoriented fighter collapse as the ref catches him.
Great vid. Refs don’t get enough respect in boxing.
stephen schneider exactly, the good ones are acknowledged but there isn’t many
So true.
Fact
Themasticator 100 unless they’re called Mills Lane.
Correction, good refs don't get enough respect in boxing.
"With a name like Titsworth he's lucky he didn't feel him up"
Commentators a legend.
Max kellerman is pretty damn funny
‘Knock the living shit out of him’ ‘with a name like titsworth I’m surprised he didn’t try and feel him up!’ Great commentary wish they spoke like this all the time :-)
Jack Reiss is a legend. All of these are great professionals but that performance by Reiss was incredible.
When a ref asks you a question like “are you alright?” You better answer or they’re going to call it off
I thought the boxer was just too cool for the referee 😏
It’s good to see refs getting the recognition they deserve
Richard Steele absolutely saved that boxer's life. Great commentary and footage with Jack Reiss!
bashildy he’s very underrated, he really behaves like fighters welfare is his mission. Second only to mills Lane in my book.
@@randomdude239 Agreed! Lane and Steele are my #1 and #2 respectively.

More videos like this is needed. Referees never get the love and respect that they have earned.
4:38 Wow he saved that man's life
@Casual Fight Fan Was that fall really deadly? Or was it from the punches leading up to it combined with the impact?
@Casual Fight Fan Fair enough
@@AndreiSelescu I think it was far more likely to not be deadly. Ive seen people fall on their head from worse angles. People are resilient. But it happens alot that athletes recieve bad concussions and are never the same. So to say he potentially saved his career and over all quality of life sounds about right. Amazing reffing job. I still wonder what gave it away to him.
@@AndreiSelescu it's not the fall that will end him
The barrage of punch that will coming his way if the ref didn't stop the fight that will end him
@@shanetaylor761 at the same time the fighters corner, and his oppont also showed concern, so everyone must have noticed something was off.
Thank you for respecting the refs, and doing so with quality content. These refs are true heroes.
That last fight is the embodiment of heart. Both men on the canvas. The man who rises, wins. Determination, grit, fighting spirit and HEART.
Great video. Ive only seen the Tyson disqaulification by Mills Lane, but all the others were new. Very rare moments. I love the Ward ref layin' down the law to those dudes and shaking his head like a boss. He gets my 'THUG' award.
7:20 he created order where there was chaos.
All referees should be like that... A salute for those righteous referees.
Reiss: “Knock it off or your money belongs to me.”
Boxers: 😱
Wow the significant larger amount of detail on the Ward/Rodriguez makes these redux even better! Fantastic content always 👍👊
Ok, 2 minutes in and I'm about to shit myself from laughing.
Lmao Lampley and Kellerman having the time of their lives.
I love that you give the refs their due, cause their job is so insanely important!!
90% of the time I forget the ref is even in the ring
That's how you can tell they're a good ref if the fighters aren't being dirty. No unnecessary BS
Yep, I prided myself on nobody even noticing me in the ring. Clean fighters. No need to stop them from working.
Must of never watched a Joe Cortez fight...
If they're fighting clean, let them fight. ESPECIALLY when the two have beef. Stay out of it unless you have to step in, and let them fight it out.
How it’s supposed to be
Jack Reece is definitely one of the best refs in the game, if not THE best
Erick Aguirre that fight was a joke
@@canelo9567 he deserved that
Aaron Jackson can’t even spell his name right how you calling him the best
@@canelo9567 Lmao normie complaining about a youtube fight
Yeah right, he’s far from it, always putting his hands on fighters, and takes everything very personal
I don’t even like boxing like that, but I love all your videos. Good job man.
Thanks for making this. A lot of people remeber the bad refs.
But great ones save careers and lives
I enjoyed this video.
Thank you for taking the time out to put it together.
Ref's tend to not get recognized like this. Great commentary and video!
Just want you to know you are so under-appreciatedin the sport Hancho
NEED TO MAKE MORE OF THESE, MAKE SOME ABOUT TERRIBLE REFFING WHERE IT COSTS A FIGHTERS WIN OR LOSS! GREAT JOB ON THIS ONE, LOV IT!
Broner vs Maidana was one of my favorites as Manny continues to Show Love to the sport as the crowd communicates better.
Honorable acts make my eyes water with great joy. I can’t explain it.
Mills Lane is my all time favorite ref. Would love to see more of this type videos.
The man on the blue shirt makes the diference between two drunk guys out from a bar and the most beautifull sport.
I've never been into boxing, I dont watch boxing, I dont know much about it.. But the way you tell these stories is SO INTERESTING that I can't resist watching it. You are really good at writing bro. Good work.
To be the best referee you need to be the best
These are men built with ethics
Didn't know Ron Jeremy was in tyson's corner when he fought holyfield II.
😂🤣😂🤣😂😂😂😂🤣😂
That was Captain Lou Albanio!
Lmao!!
I should've found this channel sooner. Great work OfficeHancho. Damn entertaining.
Thats Amazing the last double knock out:-)
Best new topic video. Amazed entirely. Cheers
I'm not a boxing fan, or wasn't before I stumbled onto one of your vids. God stuff bro
this needs more than just one part
Love this! Ward/Rodriguez in particular was a great break-down.
Awesome analysis, awesome clip. Thanks for posting
What a good video man, thanks for that!
There wouldn't be such a spectacular sport without the refs. Much respect as always.
Outstanding video I love boxing but i've never focused on the ref! Outstanding!
Definitely cool to give some good refs some props, great video
All Refs need to be this way, any more fouls, " No Pay" that'll straighten any fighter up!
for the situation he applied, it was right. They were not following his instructions/obeying his commands.
Deducted two points from each and gave a warning that the next time it was disqualification
@3:35 what is Ron Jeremy doing in mike's corner
😂🤣
Whatever the hell he wants with his giant 🐓.

Putting stuff in Mike's mouth apparently
Great stuff. Most "fans" don't even recognize or appreciate great reffing. What a shame, they don't get the respect they deserve
great reffing makes a fight better, no doubt.
Max had me choking with that titsworth joke
A surprisingly beautiful video, well done
Jack Reiss is one of the very best referees out there and his decision to allow Tyson Fury to continue the fight against Wilder will go down as one of the best decisions a referee has ever made !!
Just found your channel and I'm hooked! Keep up the excellent work!
Always with that good content GREAT WORK!👍🏽
hey bro I just found your channel and as a boxing fan I just wanna say keep up the great work
These were outstanding, more please.
Jim Lampley had me dying.
You once again made an amazing vid and have brought a light to wonderful referees
R.I.P mr. Mills Lane
This is a great compilation. The Green and Black paper causes some terrible things to happen but these refs were here to do their job and did it well.
Great video these refs should be praised especially when they are truly genuine with their work and willing to take a hit in order to save someone from permanently getting hurt
I totally agree with what your saying in this video…in a boxing bout the referee must have total control in the ring and the boxers welfare is paramount…for great fighters to have great fights you need great referees…I was a fan of Frank Cappuccino back in the day…Love your videos keep em coming…
Cappuccino had a policy of little intervention, and earned the respect of everyone due to it.
It was a good thing that no serious injuries happened in fights he presided. Made him being right.
Gatti had some problems after his career, but this was not due to the fights against Ward (first one reffed by Frank)
2:39 because he forgot to put a bet on
Great insight into what goes on ‘behind the scenes’
Most people don't realize that Mills Lane was a pro boxer back in the 60's and actually had a 10-1 record.
Mills Lane and Richard Steele have separated themselves from all other referees as the best of the best.
The uncensored commentary is amazing, they should actually air events like that.
World class video as always 🙇🏽♂️🙇🏽♂️
You had a channel called alphalete right? I've just stumbled upon it searching for one of those fights
Yeah that’s him I believe
Great channel man
great vid bro, almost better than the others, the sound bites show what these ref's are made of. it's gotta be tuff reffing a dawg fight.
Very impressive, Jack Reiss :D
great quality video dude keep this up!
Hahahahaha I can't stop laughing. "Titsworth". Imagine all the anger he's been bottling all of his life.
Arthur Merchant was the best referee to ever step into a ring. Most of these guys are just grandstanding. And frankly, some of their decisions were terrible.
The double knock down finish is one of the most bizarre and awe inspiring things in combat sports.
Love you mate, great post. Andre Ward fight, he was sensational and also in the Wilder v Fury 1 as he's a trained specialist outside of the ring.
I miss hbo commentary. ON top of the fact, that's the first time I've ever heard Jim Lampley cuss PERIOD 😂🤣😂🤣
I love Jack Reiss. Great ref. Lotta great refs in the sport, but Jack Reiss I feel like refs based on the spirit of the sport, not the letter of the rules. Dude is a boss
Thanks to these men!
Fantastic video!! Much much more please!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE the Adult Swim style intro! :)
Mills Lane has my respect. He got up in Mike Tyson's face and let him know he wasn't going to allow it. Though Mills clearly should've gigged Holyfield for headbutting, he showed heart. Lots of refs would've been terrified to get in Mike's face like that.
Calling out prime Mike Tyson's bullshit as bullshit straight to his face takes a pair of real balls
Mills Lane wasn't nicknamed "Judge" in vain...
He knew that, just like in the courtroom, he was the biggest authority in the ring. And used his powers well.
Against some other refs MIke would likely throw punches. If he did that to a federal judge (even outside of court) he would be back in jail, and he knew it.
buddy your song selection and edits are on point. content is dank too.
Love the video brother keep it up!
6:09 *He was about to release a career ending Combo!!!*
I believe that Keith Hughes’ performance refereeing Andre Berto vs. Luis Collazo was one of the best out there. I wish more referees did justice to the fans and enforced the no excessive holding rule. In this case, Berto was prevented from holding, put on a great performance, and obtained a great win. The fans won as well - a very exciting boxing match with no holding and wrestling.
The joys of an untelevised fight: "That prompted Vargas to knock the living shit out of him."
Great to see some respect go to the refs... Mills lane IS THE MAN, respected by all .
Love the music bro
3:17, Mills Lane is an outstanding ref, but he is NOT a "United States federal judge." He's a Washoe County, Nevada, District Court Judge. Big diff. Secondly, federal judges are lifetime appointments and do NOT 'moonlight.'
Last ref is dope. The way he's popping the fingaz out for the count is beautiful
I'm assuming that ref at the Ward vs Rodriguez fight was named Reese if I got that comment from the hbo fellas correct, unless they said "Reefes", but that guy really put his foot down, major respect to how quickly he got controll over the fight once he had enough
I'm watching a highlight reel of referees. 🤷🏾♂️
Its actually interesting too
2:30 so finally cole did a jood job..
This needs to be a series!!! Or at least a part 2 episode. Not enough love for reffs
I dig the intro beat
Good doc. work and careful analysis dude.. respected.
