    Good day. I just want to say thank you for all the great training videos. With your help, I used to be an 18 handicap and in 6 months of watching and practicing your training, I am now a 10 handicap. I am 58 years young and have never played so well in my life. Keep up the good training videos. Maybe I can get down to a 5 handicap.

    I've watched all your chipping and pitching lessons and have been applying them when I play. I'm now ending up on or infront of the green and rarely roll off the back. No
    I need to work on feel for my distances to get closer to the pin.
    These have been very effective easy to understand lessons for me.
    Thank you very much.
    Now I better start watching your putting lessons!

    Great video Danny. When I was growing up one of my favourite golfers was Fred Couples. I could never really understand how he seemed to have such a smooth easy swing yet hit it for miles. After my lesson and studying your videos a lot recently I’m finally becoming able to use my legs, gravity and mechanics to keep my swing under control to minimise mishits and errors, but hit straighter and longer. I’m swinging smoother and with better tempo with no loss of distance. Your teaching has hugely increased my enjoyment and ability of golf. I’m not quite Fred level yet though…. - maybe another 12 months!

    Danny,
    your description of the turn being a "pivot" as opposed to a "turn" is an enlightening tool. You've used it for full swings lessons previously, and it works for the short game nicely as well, per today's lesson. Thanks!

    Your chipping and especially your pitching videos took my game to the next level. I am regularly shooting 2 to 5 over par but recently I had a round even par and another round -2 under par. I transitioned that pitching rhythm and form to my long game. Previously I was hitting 15 to 20 over par mostly because of 80 yards and in. I have lost significant distance with my 8 iron and up because of slower swing but the accuracy is through the roof and mishits and more rare.

    Great instruction right here. It took me forever to develop the more up and down feel/motion on my pitch shots - had I seen this video earlier it would have saved me a lot of time and headache.
    I think these same concepts could be applied to the full swing as well - basically how you have to balance the vertical motion of the club (side bend) with the horizontal (torso rotation) to be a great ball striker. Maybe you've already done a video like this Danny?
    I'd love to hear your take on how much the vertical-to-horizontal balance varies throughout the bag - if at all.

    • @DanielMaude
      @DanielMaude  8 месяцев назад

      Absolutely, with golfers that slice for instance. Having more side bend away from target going through can help push path further right and reduce slice

    Hi Danny. Great lesson as usual but here's a thing that I use and I never chunk a chip from fifty yards in. I make sure that body is taken out of it and it really is just an "up and down arm swing" by drawing my back foot (right foot) back at least six inches up to one foot. The club travels straight through so I make great contact and never pull shots left. Providing my aim is good I am confident I can get up and down for no more than three shots at worst.

    Thanks Danny! Great to see this, as approach shots within 100 yards are my Achilles heal! I was trying to extend your "jar lid" swing thought for pitches to longer shots, but became too wooden, and often left shots short or bladed shots when I'd try to rotate faster and post up at impact. You may have done this already, but I'd love to see you do a video where you go from chip to pitch to approach and highlight the differences in technique between these shots.

      Sorry about that Paul, completely forgot. Different ways to do it
      1. Through speed of swing
      2. Through length of swing
      3. Change of club
      4. Choke down the club to hit it shorter

    Great tips again Danny, thanks. Can you give any tips on how to overcome the dreaded short putt ‘Y’s please?

    Helpful video. At what distance(s) do you open or close your stance (feet width apart)? For shorter chips, closed feet and longer pitches (40-100 yds) more open? Also ball position within the feet or at back foot/front foot?

    • @DanielMaude
      @DanielMaude  3 года назад

      when you feel you need more balance as the pace of your swing increases begin to widen your stance. Move the ball forward and back depending on whether you would like a low or high flight

    I am currently working on developing shot for 50 metres which I am currently fine tuning on the range
    Once that is done I am going to a 30 metre shot
    I think it is gonna be a great asset when I have a "shot" for those finicky distances and I ain't standing there trying to guess how to hit a shot when I am in the middle of nowhere distances

    Thanks for the video. Again, loved it. At 3:54 you mention that you'll be talking about distance control. I must have missed your comments later. WHy do pros sometimes use a 9 iron as a pitch shot for a distance that a normal 9 iron would go 2 or 3 times that distance. How do you judge which iron to use?

    Great video Danny and very timely for me. How much different should that rotation/side bend be for iron shots? I just realized this week that I need more feeling of side bend in my short irons and wedges, just like you described. I’m trying to figure out how to blend that motion up through my long irons, where I seem to do it fine without thinking about it

    • @DanielMaude
      @DanielMaude  3 года назад +1

      Many golfers don’t get enough side bend with their swings as they swing too much with the arms

    Fantastic video! Simple explanation and instruction. At the 2:25 mark you talk about rotation. I had an instructor trying to get me to rotate more on these shots and it was so much effort to get the club back around to the ball. THIS is what I needed to see. Thank you!

    Thanks for a another great tip. I have drop 4 shots watching your videos and I think that this will be one very important for me and I can start to see a single figure handicap very soon. I would really like your thoughts on how much is it your hands vs the twist through the ball?

    Would the unscrew the barrel lid feeling work for the feet with this one?
    Perfect video for me this one, last couple if rounds I’ve put myself in great positions then just missing greens (mostly left) from 50-100 yards in

    Great as ever. Thanks Danny. You did mention at the beginning you were going to talk about distance control and spin?

    • @DanielMaude
      @DanielMaude  3 года назад

      Control your distance either with speed of swing, length of swims or change of club. Backspin comes from premium ball, sharp grooves on club and this strike

    • @alanwilson1996
      @alanwilson1996 3 года назад

      Thanks. Do you have a recommendation re sharpening grooves?
