If anyone is having trouble getting the OSD to actually come up, try and bind a key to "Toggle On-Screen Display" in the afterburner Settings under the On-Screen Display tab.
Great step by step guide. TOP TIP: pressing the "X" actually closes the program without minimising it to the system tray. So if you close it, nothing will show up, which is probably why some people say it's not working.
Bro you're a diamond, people like you aren't existing everybody waste our times with a lot of talking without profit, you bro saying only what we need and making it easy thanks a lott
For those who could not get it working, Open Afterburner go into settings go to on screen display and put some key into the toggle on screen display tab. When in game use that key, Should work.
At the top, click on the On Screen Display tab. Click in the Toggle On Screen Display box and press the Scroll Lock key, and click Apply so you can turn the OSD on and off. Note that global hotkeys like this one only function when the Settings menu is closed. You would need to click OK to close this window, have a game running, then press Scroll Lock to turn on the OSD.
Thank you for a very straight forward explanation and a intuitive guide to installation and function. A lot of these videos are full of host tyring to impress everyone how smart they are by using lanquage that most of us do not understand and talking fast and acting as if they are talking to the most advance technical audience rather than just regular viewers they want a vey concise and short explanation of how to use whatever device which is at issue. Thanks
0:31 The default windows file explorer already has a built in zip extractor, albeit a limited one. 7 zip is great tho. For those with fps not shown issues, go to setting, Benchmark, then assign a key to begin recording. Now open a game, toggle On-screen monitor and begin recording on with the shortcut keys. And finally enjoy. Thanks to Shandell James
I uninstalled it because the frame-rate wouldn't show up, and I missed the On Screen Display option under the monitor tab. Thanks, you helped me figure out where I was going wrong.
Hey I managed to install everything and get the app running fine, but it wont show me the options to see my GPU temps/usage. It only shows the option for the integrated graphics. When I first set it up they appeared fine, but after launching a game they disappeared from the MSI Afterburner settings. Any tip/idea on how I could fix this?
Guys, make sure "Show On-Screen Display" on the top left of RTSS is ON (see 5:39). He didn't mention it, but it was off for me and nothing was working hahaha
-Make sure you have Msi afterburner still running while playing your game - also some games might not support afterburner automatically or they might mistaken it as some kind of hacking or cheating software, if that’s the case then into your Steam library and right click on your game. Select properties at the bottom, stay on the general tab and in the strip under where it say “launch options” type in the text “-allow_third_party_software” then exit out and start the game again. There’s one other thing you can try if that doesn’t work but it’s a bit more complicated for me to type in
Great and clear tutorial! very helpful thanks!!! is there anyway to see it without being inside a game? like for using editing software or just in normal windos desktop?
Nice mate, thank's. I followed all the steps and everything is fine, it really works perfectly but I have only one problem, the CPU temperature function does not appear in the program and not even those for the CPU core, I only have CPU usage, any recommendations ?
For those that still can't get the stats to display, my mistake was I didn't have msi afterburner and rtss running in the background. Minimize to system tray. Changing the display color isn't working for me, though.
i followed this tutorial but why is not working for me? ( i have both program minimized, not closed ) EDIT: now is working i had to do off > on on "on screen display support"
Hi I followed ur steps and enable those to on screen display however when I’m in the game my cpu temperature showing weird temperature like below 30c , when I check my armoury crate it’s around 75-80c am I doing any steps wrong? And my gpu and cpu temperature only has one reading unlike urs has two?
As i notice, some people can show the graph of something on it. I havent figured it out how. Also, it doesnt show GPU power drawn sadly. Or, does it now? Lucky me, on AMD software, it can show the power drawn.
Easy and straight to the point.
Total appreciation from an Old Guy close to his 8th Decade - anything that can be done to make the journey easier is a blessing. You rock!

Is there a way of toggling it off and on?
@@toorz7839 I haven't tried it myself but in the options I think there are hot keys you can assign to toggle it on and off.
Go to settings and setup a button combination, i use ctrl m @@toorz7839

Can I make these Metrics be visible even WHEN NOT IN A GAME? on Win Desktop or in Browser?
thanks much. very helpful
every windows pc is able to extract files. 7zip is not needed.
Was wondering about this step. I’ve always used the windows built in extract function.
And you dont even need to extract it as it doesnt have any dependencies, you just double click the zipped folder and open the exe.
7zip is good not only for extracting lol
@@milordas yeah, but for this tutorial it is only used for extracting, it's not necessary.
