I actually broke my first Hephaestus. I wouldn’t even dare testing a second. Thing took some massive weight before snapping. I put it through a weight test very similar to the one that Cold Steel does. It held 690 pounds. When I added another 45lb plate it snapped. Not completely, but the knife was a broken limb. The I didn’t get to test it without the pin though. It’s definitely held more weight than the SR1, but the Scout is pretty much goated. I stopped adding weight after 800.
I'm not a "hard user" at all, collecting and basic EDC is basically all I do, but I'm a big fan of the Cold Steel tri-ad knives. The AD-10 has been one of my favorite knives to carry recently, because there's just something satisfying about carrying a knife that's downright unnecessarily strong for anything you're actually planning to do with it. That, and the CHUNKY sound and feel of a tri-ad lockup makes it one of the most addictive actions to play with for me.
Great video!! I like the knives from Medford, I have the USMC Fighter, and 2 Medford Praetorian knives amongst my collection. Definitely going to get the Medford TFF after this review!! Thanks!
The SR1 light is possibly the best value hard use folder one can but. It's incredibly tough, incredibly stout and like 30 bucks. It's not a slicer by no means but it is a total badass if you neat a cheap knife that you can hammer in to a tree and use it as a step lol.
Honestly, my SR1 lite came with a better factory edge than a lot of knives half as thick. Like you said, not really made for slicing, but it handles everyday light cutting tasks way better than I expected it to.
Trying to save for Christmas over here and you go posting videos with awesome knives telling me they're available 😂😂😂 had to have so much self control, had 2 of them in the cart, put in delivery details and everything before I stopped myself 😢
The only knife I don’t have is the Maxace from this bunch , The Medford TFF-1 is my favorite by far that knife is amazing , but it’s the most expensive, but if I was gonna grab a knife to beat the balls off of it would be the Cold steel 4max , The Shaman is an Awesome knife also Luv it !!!
Ive wanted a Hephaestus for quite a bit now. My brother teased me when I first asked him what he thought and he said "gas station knife" I dont care, I already have some practical fixed and folding knives.
Hey. You know, I just Worry about safety. With the Hephaestus, I'm almost there... Maybe if it had 4 locking systems I'd be comfortable and able to relax. ✨😸
Due to your video's I will eventually buy an ad 10 and put original goat scales on it. The scales are made to order on there site 4-6 weeks it says. I really like the idea of having a knife that you can through the world at it and it keeps going. Not just hard use but extreme hard use. I was watching a video of someone batoning with the triad verse the shark lock. The shark lock had play in it after. Triad lock remained strong as ever.
sir can i ask you what strop and compound you like to use? like what strop is actually the best? cuz theres so many, balsa, kangaroo, nanocloth, cowhide etc..
Another long Kachava….visited advertiser. That’s either half a heart or a quarter heart. So we are getting up there. Then some get rich quick ad utilizing a clip subscription to cobble together the horseshit. Didnt click the advertisement maker. He let his hunger show. Letting that hunger show is no-no. It smacks of a desperation of a sort. Great list. 11:12
@@flapxjacksonI ordered mine from Cranes Cutlery Thursday morning and my order still says processing, I have called and e-mailed them twice and still haven’t gotten a response.
MaxAce Hephaestus is $470. Just nope. Just go with a fixed blade. Plenty of good ones out there that will outperform this. Some of the Cold Steel and Spyderco folding knives are a good value. I have the Shaman (and Manix XL which I prefer).. The Cold Steel knives are also pretty good.
Kind of a fun list, but I'm also disappointed by it. I guarantee you there are no Seals or Rangers using Medfords out in the field. Overdone and way too expensive. Know what operators actually use that you missed? Emerson Commanders and the CQC-7. Not sexy with it's G-10 handles and 154CM blades, but they are indestructible and you can literally pick up a rock and sharpen them in the field when they go dull.

*_😅🤣🤣🤣"Built like a BULLDOZER" indeed!!!_*
Hey buddy, your videos are the best. Please continue with your unique and excellent take on knives.
I appreciate that!
I'm sure ole Rick Hinderer probably shed a few tears after watching this and not seeing any of his knives made the list

I just got the ad10 tanto yesterday. Have not used it yet. But really really like with my first impression!

medford has some okay designs, but considering he’s a racist piece of shit i wouldn’t be giving him any money directly.
Good review of some good knives. Thanks Jerad.
Excellent job as always brother.

@@NeevesKnives Thank you !! And you played a big part of it , Thanks my man 👊🏻👊🏻
What about the cold steel AD15? Massively underrated.

exactly yeah i seen a similar video with cold steels version on the engage and it had similar results

Next do a vid on tanks vs bulldozers.😀
also sir what do you think of dmt 8000 grit diamond stones?
i dont know if i have seen it, im curious if it wears out extremely fast usually very fine grit diamonds do unless they are bonded in resin
I know metal complete has the ti og scales in his 4 max and it looks sooooo sexy. I need one to go with my ad 20.5 and mg20.
They have some for the Engage now as well
Those horns in the background look like they're on your head
Can you order just a blade not the knife from demko

Have you gotten a chance to check out the reate terminator t1000 yet?
i did at blade show, id have one on but they are all sold out now and were limited
@@NeevesKnivesIt looks like Crane’s Cutlery has 9 in stock. It will only set you back $547.
@flapxjackson yeah I'm good on that, if it was something that would continue being made I'd possibly doit but it's not
@@flapxjacksonI ordered mine from Cranes Cutlery Thursday morning and my order still says processing, I have called and e-mailed them twice and still haven’t gotten a response.
If i need a folder built like a bulldozer I'll just grab a fixed blade. For collecting, ok sure.
you would be surprised how tough a cold steel tri ad lock is but ofcourse a fixed blade is usually better

This video is biased. Where is tactical mermaid knife 😁?

I know two heads in Marine Recon who use Medfords. Regarding the cost, you get what you pay for.
