    I have this cover and it is great. Close the gate first then the cover. the rubber flap will go over the gate and make it a little more water tight. Also the straps slide so that sometimes adjusts tension.

    • @daultonmccoy8369
      @daultonmccoy8369 3 года назад

      Are you talking about the straps that connect the first cross bar to the channel?

    • @brucegilbert2444
      @brucegilbert2444 3 года назад

      @@daultonmccoy8369 The bar at the tail gait. Slide towards the outside seems to loosen the tension and slide towards the inside seem to tighten. I do not know if that is the intention but that is what I have noticed on mine.

    Thank you for this...! I went with the Gator 53311 for my 2012 Super Duty shortbed and I was a little intimidated initially, but your demonstration wasn't much different from something my late father would've done. Very much appreciated...!

    Nice, I’m a retired Master Plumber in PA, had a Extang Trifecta cover on my 2006 F-150, lasted till April of this year when the truck died. Got a good used Frontier and installed a new one, like this type because don’t have to fight Velcro. Like the purple primer stains on the bed🤣

    Great video! Thanks for the help. Only mistake I made was not placing the rails high enough. The trunk wouldn’t close cause the rails were a tiny bit to low. Had to adjust the clamps & push higher. Thanks for the help!

    I also see your a scouter. Thank you.

    Thank you. I installed my own and could not figure out the two plastic blocks. I love this cover. I used some black silicone under the forward flap in a few places towards the ends and it damn near water proof. The weak point being the tailgate but that not even a lot. It was good investment.

    I typically close the tailgate before I latch the cover. Doing it this way puts the rubber seal on top of the tailgate and keeps water out.

    So after installing it exactly as stated in instructions and after watching this video, I have a bow in the metal part of the cover up next to the cab. It only bows up when I locked it down. I understand why, there is alot of pressure pulling on it when you lock it in place. I tried to adjust the tension with the tension blocks but when doing so, my cover is now too far away from the front side of the bed, nearest the cab. It makes a small gap. It seems like there should be some sort of way to clamp the front side of the cover to the bed cap like most other styles of covers. I bought this exact one and I have a 2014 ram sport quad cab with the 6.4 foot bed.

      I don’t own this cover, yet. However, I saw another install video and you should check the bolts near the cab near the tension block. The nuts may be too tight. The other guy said those nuts should not be too tight on the bolts. He even showed where he could slightly move the cab rail. I’m just guessing and spitballin here from what I’ve watched but I hope this helps.

    I think I missed the part where you talked about the covers (?) on the top rail (gunnels) of your truck bed. I haven't purchased a truck in decades. Are these included on all trucks these days?

      Eh my mom's 2016 GMC Canyon came with something similar. Just spoke to her as I was writing this and yeah it's stock. I do recommend getting a factory bedliner, the abuse we put that poor little bed through!
