Hey Chris and Evan. Just wanted to say I’m sorry for your loss. Through all the videos I could tell how much Jake appreciated you both, and also how much he thought of you guys. God bless and stay safe. Happy reefing and I hope jakes wife and family are well and safe. Happy holidays and happy reefing!
Glad to see Evan continuing in Jake shoes on making educational videos. Glad to hear Reef Therapy starting up again. Is Mark coming back. As much we miss Jake. I hope to see Mark soon.
This is a hard time for everyone and we are taking baby sets to regain our footing. Mark as you can imagine is very distraught by Jake passing as the rest of us are. So right now Mark is not comfortable returning to the podcast. We respect his wishes.
Excellent video. Thank you for keeping the top notch info flowing out of the reef builders studio!
I'm glad they are keeping it going. you can tell they are a little nervous jake would be very happy to see his coral is being taken care of
Thank you guys for keeping the channel going !!! It’s what Jake would have wanted !!!!
Whenever i get a new coral i will dip it and cut off the plug and put it in a new one it doesnt matter where i get the frag it has worked wonders for decades that i have done it. Merry Christmas 🎄
Top notch quality Evan. Keep ‘em coming
The studio is in good hands.
RIP Jake. That said, really like the direction the channel is going. Less high brow, and much more practical/useful videos than ever before. Great job guys. Keep up the good work.
We would like to present a well rounded amount of information. Jake agreed too!
Awesome production quality guys. Really keeping it fresh.
I just received 4 medium and small maricultured colonies from Biota. They're infested with flatworms. I even dipped when they arrived and they still have them. Going to repeat the dip again today as I've on had them a few days. This video was perfect timing. Thank you for the video and you did a great job. The reefing community accepts you with open arms as we're all family. Keep up the videos, you're a natural.
Disappointment.
Hi Evan... there is Jake Soul in yours... great video
Solid info! Thanks Evan and Cris
Thank you for all you do Cris Capp
Thank you so much for keeping this channel going. Love the content
Great video lads! really enjoyed this!
Intormative video, and always great to see Cris on the channel!
Great info .. Thanks Evan & Chris 👍
Great info... Ty
Brilliant video, very informative.
Amazing video with Chris and Evan. Loved every minute of it, dipping new corals and finding what's in the container is my favorite lol. Happy holidays to reef builders team.
Potassium chloride do a very good job also.
30 gram mix with 5 liter water.
Lps only dip for 5 to 10 min max.
Sps can dip up to 20 to 30 min.
Great in-depth information for this problem thanks for sharing
Great Video Evan. Keep up the amazing job you do! 😊
Thank you for sharing your experience guys 👏
Great imformative video and advice chaps 👌
Great work Evan (and Chris). It’s hard to imagine what you and the team have gone through recently, but I want you to know that the videos you’ve released recently have been incredible, you’re doing a fantastic job and I couldn’t think of a better host to keep this channel moving forward. Cheers, Mark
Thanks guys for this video 💪🏻👌🏻
I hope Chris continues on the videos I think Jake would love that he is making reef builder videos just an honer to JAKE
Very cool.
I had no idea Richard Hatch was a Reefer. ;) Cheers
Could you maybe make a video about special corals that are not seen much in the hobby like anacropora etc.
informative!
nice video im having A issue with all my euphyllia dying and I feel like its flat worms killing them going to give this a try tomorrow to try to save some of them
Cool man corals are well kept brah!
Good info. Could you make a video on managing/eliminating colonial hydroids? I must have gotten them off a zoa frag from a local reefer and they are slowly spreading all over my tank, so they can't be easily manually removed.
Great video! Curious on your thoughts on Bayer as a preventative dip and if it works as well as Revive
We don’t use Bauer at the studio.
Great video Evan! I been thinking Chris from ACI would be great for Reef Therapy he loves to talk and he knows the scientific names just as well as Jake! I wish Reef Therapy was you “Evan” and Chris or Mark vanderwall and Chris. Mark did very well with it.
This is a hard time for everyone and we are taking baby sets to regain our footing. Mark as you can imagine is very distraught by Jake passing as the rest of us are. So right now Mark is not comfortable returning to the podcast. We respect his wishes.
@@ReefBuildersVideo I completely understand and I’ll continue to watch Reef Therapy no matter who the host is.
If I could help I would, this is a hard time for you all!
Good content man you are carrying the torch very well but man I miss seeing jake as I’m sure you do
Long live king Jake!!!!
Great video. We all miss Jake but Evan and Chris were excellent. If you have a lot of corals to do, how often do you change the dip and the rinse water?
Very interesting and educational! I just have one question. Shouldn't you wear gloves when handling solutions to kill parasites on corals? - Ramon 🇲🇽
The solution we are using is derived from plants so it isn’t harsh. But wearing PPE for most aquarium work is always advised if you are unsure.
@@ReefBuildersVideo Thank you very much for clarifying that 😊👍
Just curious.! If there are that many corals infected, could this be a time you could treat the whole tank?? And if so how would you go about that??
With a tank this size with so many sps. Is it safe to say that all these regular dipping is just going to keep the aefw population in check instead of hoping to completely eradicating them?
Likely that is the case.
What microscope is that you guys are using?
Have you tried KZ Flatworm Stop? In combination with what you are doing
With the amount of flatworms we have it would be risky. Need to get the population reduced before doing something like that
Hey @Reef Builders what is the update on your freshwater discus fish?
We just have the 2 we’ve had for a while. No newbies.
@@ReefBuildersVideo thanks for the update
Do you not have any pest control fish in the coral flat?
We don’t. Since the don’t have lids wrasses are out of the question and filefish haven’t been effective.
What about damsels and dragonets? Tidal Gardens use them for pest control. Dragonface pipefish has been reported to eat red bugs.
I´m wondering if the little Coralcrabs who sometimes live in Corals would take care of the "Flatworms" , any experience with those ?
We have a couple on some acros, don't notice any difference in flatworms.
Yooooo
🌲🌲🌲🌲
Its high time a genuine in tank treatment is developed for AEFW. If the industry is serious about this hobbies survival then they would put up the money to develop a drug or something that will wipe these things out without harming the tank. AEFW are the single worst pest in the hobby and they are literally destroying the hobby.
Please bring back evan to the reef builders studio🤞 it hasn't been the same since Jake Adams left us😢 R.I.P i now no longer watch the new content as it not the same this use to be my favourite reefing channel
No time for them no love nothing not funny try different right
They should always look at the camera if possible
