    What would make cable management great would be if manufacturers put a splash proof in-line plug and socket 2 or 3 feet from any piece of kit so you could just unplug it and remove it for maintenance - that’s why my MP40’s are always clean you don’t have cables to remove with the kit to clean it !! 😏

      JonsReef Lots of tanks don’t have sumps or skimmers... I’m confused by your reply

    • @NeptuneRjo
      @NeptuneRjo 4 года назад

      @JonsReef People say things are "needed" if you want to make your life easier. Try running a low nutrient tank with more than 4 fish without a protein skimmer. You would need to do a >50% water change every week. Try running a low phosphate tank without a sump. It's significantly more work than most people have the time or want to do. It is possible to run sps tanks without RO water if your tap is very low in alkalinity. There are plenty of people who do it.
      You're being quiet a hypocrite by claiming people argue about stupid things but your entire rant is you misinterpreting actual necessities and necessities for an easier experience.

    • @NeptuneRjo
      @NeptuneRjo 4 года назад +1

      @JonsReef You're pretty egotistical for someone talking about keeping coral. I dont have one spec of algae either and my phosphates are high buddy, its called herbivores. You have multiple tangs in your tank (fish that, if you dont know, primarily eat algae). And again, you clearly misinterpret actual needs vs. needs to make things easier. Tons of people run mixed reef tanks in the 30-50ppm nitrate range and have success. Tons of people run sps dominant tanks with

    • @NeptuneRjo
      @NeptuneRjo 4 года назад

      @JonsReef Okay? Did you not read what I said? Good for you that your methods work for you, but stop having tantrums about people giving advice about certain husbandry methods.

    • @NeptuneRjo
      @NeptuneRjo 4 года назад

      @JonsReef If you truly knew as much about the hobby s you say you would know hair algae is caused by an imbalance. Covering it up with a CUC and ignoring the problem is not good advice for any reef keeper.

If you can Jake will you watch my most recent video and give me just a little feedback on what ya think. You did it for me about a year ago and I was just excited to show you the progress and see some of the changes I made with corals. Might want to check on your heaters! The one on the left was turning on and off rather fast! Great tank!

    • @EvanMontgomery
      @EvanMontgomery 4 года назад

      Thats due to the controller its plugged into being quite sensitive. The thermostat on the heater itself is set a few degrees higher, so the heater is always "on"

    Wow that is the coolest tank I have seen yet , you are definitely doing something right so keep it up and thank you for sharing that was awesome. I don't have a tank right now but I use to have a 55 gallon and 40 gallon underneath with all fresh water fish . Never tried a salt water setup though looks pretty cool but hard to take care of.

    Do you primarily feed the fish to feed the corals? How much cleaner is your tank with the clam? Would it be unwise to put a clam in as the first tank resident?

  • @tinquach7374
    @tinquach7374 4 года назад +1

    I wonder how you plumb your 32-gallon water container to the sump for auto top off. I used it once and it flooded my floor (after the ATO pump shut off, the water still fed into the sump by gravity because the water level in the resevoir being higher than that in the sump. Is there a special valve that I should use to connect to the hose from the ATO pump to the sump?

    • @EvanMontgomery
      @EvanMontgomery 4 года назад +1

      Didn't mention it in the video but in the corner of the left-most chamber of the sump is a clear plastic riser tube. The ATO line feeds into the top of that, above the level of the reservoir, and then falls in air about a foot and a half down that pipe into the sump.

    I have the opposite problem, whenever I walk up to the tank all my fish get in a lunch line at the front of the tank! I think if you use autofeeder as main feeding method they won't associate you with food, might be the issue.

    Whats your lighting schedule and program? Also what settings do you runnyoue flow at

    • @EvanMontgomery
      @EvanMontgomery 4 года назад

      Custom based on what looked good. Nothing scientific at the moment. It starts the day off whiter and is pretty much all blue by the end. Run the intensity lower overall so I can get away with running them longer, to accommodate my work schedule.

    • @EvanMontgomery
      @EvanMontgomery 4 года назад

      Flow is the 3 mp40's. The two on the left and right are set at reefcrest 24/7 100%. The one on the back is reefcrest 24/7 but only at about 80%

    Please please please have a camera mounted on a tripod and leave it stationary for 10 to 15 minutes and just record then move to a different angle maybe to a different tank and do the same thing. Edit it with some relaxing chilling lounge music kind of like those Hawaiian 4K movies that you see on RUclips. Hey one hour video version of this would be perfect to Chromecast to my TV and have it play in the background.
