This definitely felt like a more basic guide, but one advanced tip I can offer as a fellow Koa enthusiast is that his hook is particularly good at getting enemies off of high ground on maps like serpent and splitstone. Often times when you pull someone down off a ledge it’s much harder to escape and keeps you and your team much safer!
Makoa is my absolutely favorite character, and tho I'm a complete noob on multi-player games, it's nice to see I've been playing him right all those years. Great video BTW!

That was obviously a big brain play to scare the Buck. As you can see, he jumped away from me just at the mere sound of the hook, because he was so terrified. This was in no way me being bad at Paladins, no, it was clearly a cosmic brain mind game to psych the Buck out.
@@yarn7733 idk I thought of doing such a thing because you barely see people use her full potential so many neat tricks like did you ever thought of countering koga ult by placing a wall below you? how and when to wall people in or out Id agree that she is the easiest to learn of the point tanks but hitting all three stones on all ranges requires some skill in the end, her ult is kinda tricky sometimes and her walls are definetly the hardest to master ability of all the point tanks in the game also there is a lot to be said about when you should use what loadout like do I need selfhealing do I need/can make use of the warders field DR how to move when fighting any of the other point tanks you also are most reliant on your healer you cant just be like term who manages his siphon a bit and then can always just throw himself in reverse gear when he needs healing until he gets it you need to be aware of where your healer is at all times also I see far too few people buy nimble on inara imo its usually the second item you should get along with caut
@@sIeet in 99.5% of cases you should go mothers grace In your loadout a card that is must have to have on 5 is the cooldown reduction on earthenguard you divide the remaining points up between the Max HP the card that heals on earthenguard the card that gives DR when standing in warders field I personally play the magazine size card on 1 as a filler in every single deck but other people prefer the card thar gives +2 ammo on activation of warders field Now on the complete loadouts: I have one which has the DR card on max and which doesnt have the self heal card I take it when I exspect to get a lot of damage onto me whilst also getting a lot of heal onto me I also play the cooldown reduction on the field in this deck I then have a loadout which is for when I have a support that cant focusheal me like a jenos or a grover in that I play the self heal card I have to accept that I cant attack when I dont have earthenguard up but with those supports you just have to eat that bit of downtime anyway so you should just make the best out of it and survive anyway I then also have a loadout that is kinda in the middle with 10% DR 50 heal per second on the earthenguard and full max HP I cant really explain when I pick it tho or why xc
@@sIeet for items its 99% of the time correct to rush caut maybe buy a little nimble very early on if you have to walk out of aoes (or enemy los) a lot might happen that you go against a barik who has a ton of healing on his turrets or are shooting at luna a lot so you might want Bulldozer early on If you want more tankiness Id definetly recommend chronos over haven and also over rejuvinate most of the times because it allows you to proc a better healing boost and Dr more often which also to the best of my knowledge doesnt stack well with the other DRs or healing boosts Usually I end up with caut nimble chronos and rejuv in that order tho i often buy the first tier of rejuv earlier because I happen to spawn with about 150 credits left but when you get to buying those items you should usually have caut 3 already and at least nimble 2
I recommend having the Damage Reduction card in a Pluck Loadout since you'll be hitting hooks more constantly. It will help you survive more if you hook an enemy and you're being shot at. Remeber, there's no way to counter Damage Reduction
It is the only good talent he has, and can work as a maintank and offtank. If there isnt any other option, he can be a somewhat decent pick. He can still be aggressive with it and make space.
