Yeah, those that create Star Wars lore REALLY deserve a big chunk of cash from Lucasfilms, as they come up with reasons and justification for every little glitch, cgi mistake and writer/director error, and actually make them part of the lore. I mean they even made a realistic reasoning, within lore, for the Vader Obi Wan duel on the first Death Star to be so low energy and lame, compared to everything that followed after it. It’s funny because this is one of the things that makes Star Wars so interesting, as the lore goes so deep like this, while at the same time makes me think “enough already, it’s like that because …………….. “ (fill in the blank with anything: the studio was to cheap, the write/director screwed up, the actor blew it, etc…) 🤣

That was a manual function common to most standard lightsabers. The dual phase lightsaber specifically refers to a button to change between 2 pre set lengths

I love Count Dooku’s lightsaber the way that it is tilted gives it more of a grip and leverage point. As well as the hilt being easily movable to throw off his opponents by coming from awkward and different angles. Which really plays into his character and design choice.

Makes sense why Vader loved the Proto-Saber. Underneath all that metal and cybertronics, he is still Anakin Skywalker. Wouldn't be surprised if he took it apart and put it back together a few times to see how it worked.
So in the darth Vader comic where he fights Jocasta Nu, like that series not that issue, in an early issue his first suit is destroyed and he’s lying on a table and tells Palpatine to not let the robots design the suit, he then redesigns the suit and upgrades it using the force to move object and stuff around, Palpatine even says “oh yes you where always an engineer” meaning it’s totally reasonable in canon that what you said is true as the current canon version of Vader still does engineer stuff.

The whole saber wasn't made of wood it was just the casing, it's not a completely seperate type of light saber. Every jedi's light saber was customized to the individuals prefrence.

No this is just canon nothing from legends, as if he included all the types from legends which is not canon, there were be too many to cover in a single video hence why this is only those light saber types which are shown in canon not to be confused with legends which use to be canon but is now no longer canon and is now known as star wars legends. Technically speaking, most lightsabers are built with an adjustable blade, but are typically not designed for such rapid, on-the-fly adjustments. That requires more sophisticated construction and a reinforced power source as seen with dual phase sabers.
The contained energy axe is very underrated. Make the handle out of Cortosis and add weight to the blade then you have a monster of a weapon. Imagine trying to block an attack from such a weapon especially if it was wielded by someone strong like a Wookiee.

@@shiveringtimber49 I think it's canon that Luke eventually got Obi-Wan's journal. I don't think we know what's in it. But I wouldn't doubt if Obi-Wan wrote instructions on how to build one. Luke also found a lightsaber on Rodia that he took apart to study. But I don't know what it looked like. Aside from the blade color (purple). I think he got the journal in a comic. He found the one on Rodia in the book Heir to the Jedi.
There is also Split sabers like Cal Kestis made, which look like double bladed lightsabers, but can be taken apart into two separate hilts to be dual wielded

In cannon, I believe all lightsabers can adjust their blade length, as in Rebels we see Ezra adjust the length of kanan’s lightsaber to train, however only dual phase savers have that level of “flick of a switch” adjustment between presets that enables it to be changed mid-combat.
Ezra's green one made a unique sound, Kanan's was made of 2 parts, and one of the Inquisitors had a saw on its blade. Also, types can stack up, as Pong Krell's were not only large, but double-bladed AND collapsable, and Kanan's blade was also extendable. Tera Sinube's lightsaber was actually a very light-blue, not true white like Ahsoka's.

Makes sense why Vader loved the Proto-Saber. Underneath all that metal and cybertronics, he is still Anakin Skywalker. Wouldn't be surprised if he took it apart and put it back together a few times to see how it worked.
So in the darth Vader comic where he fights Jocasta Nu, like that series not that issue, in an early issue his first suit is destroyed and he’s lying on a table and tells Palpatine to not let the robots design the suit, he then redesigns the suit and upgrades it using the force to move object and stuff around, Palpatine even says “oh yes you where always an engineer” meaning it’s totally reasonable in canon that what you said is true as the current canon version of Vader still does engineer stuff.

The whole saber wasn't made of wood it was just the casing, it's not a completely seperate type of light saber. Every jedi's light saber was customized to the individuals prefrence.

Funny because it seems most Jedi have had at least 2 lightsabers... Including Obi Wan... How do they even get the crystals the second time anyway? They made such a big deal of the ceremony and each crystal being the only one for that Jedi... Anakin went through like 4 lightsabers.

No this is just canon nothing from legends, as if he included all the types from legends which is not canon, there were be too many to cover in a single video hence why this is only those light saber types which are shown in canon not to be confused with legends which use to be canon but is now no longer canon and is now known as star wars legends. To summarize: There are just too many to cover from non-canon sources so it's only those in canon.

The contained energy axe is very underrated. Make the handle out of Cortosis and add weight to the blade then you have a monster of a weapon.

@@shiveringtimber49 I think it's canon that Luke eventually got Obi-Wan's journal. I don't think we know what's in it. But I wouldn't doubt if Obi-Wan wrote instructions on how to build one. Luke also found a lightsaber on Rodia that he took apart to study. But I don't know what it looked like. Aside from the blade color (purple). I think he got the journal in a comic. He found the one on Rodia in the book Heir to the Jedi.

In cannon, I believe all lightsabers can adjust their blade length, as in Rebels we see Ezra adjust the length of kanan’s lightsaber to train, however only dual phase savers have that level of “flick of a switch” adjustment between presets that enables it to be changed mid-combat.
Ezra's green one made a unique sound, Kanan's was made of 2 parts, and one of the Inquisitors had a saw on its blade. Also, types can stack up, as Pong Krell's were not only large, but double-bladed AND collapsable, and Kanan's blade was also extendable.
