I'm late but the bottom has 2 tabs that are meant to be cut out to push the window holder tabs in to disconnect the window. Way easier to work on that way. It releases the window.
Appreciate the honesty. Mine isn't broken, but is coming up REALLY slow towards the bottom, especially when it is cold out. Think I need to grease the tracks, so guessing I have to pull it apart similar to you to access to grease.

I lubed the sides of the window track by spraying WD40 into each side. That helped ours slide more easily

don't actually remove the window, leave it in the door, no need to remove it
