  • We've got a 4runner in the shop today, and we're always fielding questions about the differences between shocks and what they mean for the vehicle. Here we have two high performance options, the Old Man Emu BP51 and the Bilstein 8112 / 8100 Zone Control setups.

This is what I sounded like doing a presentation in high school. Great insight on the differences of each other.

BP-51's or Falcon Tow/Hauls sports for my 5th gen 4runner on my overland build?

We would aim for the OME BBP51. These seem handle much better for overlanding builds with the internal bypass, external reservoir, and both low speed compression and rebound adjustment.

@@ShockSurplus awesome, thanks for the insight. What would you say for BP51 or the Bilstien 5160/6112 set up?

This video was a let down. Both shocks sitting right there, 4Runner right behind. Bolt them up and do a back to back!
All I heard was what I could read in the manufacturer literature.

Can I put the B8 8100 shock in the back of a 2009 fj Cruiser ?since I put 8112 in the front Since I have seen those kits with 8100 on the back and I want to be sure

Yep, 8100s go on the rear of those vehicles and 4Runners, 8112s in the front, 8100s in the back
