He could've skimped and left MP-36 in robot mode all the time. Doesn't take away from him transforming 3 other separate complicated-as-hell toys for the sake of an in-frame visual comparison.
Maybe he has multiples because he got tired of constantly flipping them back and forth... Lol

When you take scale into account, it looks like a standard 53' trailer...Optimus is rocking something like a 36' trailer...Trailer lengths go as high as 57'.

Incredible engineering really, ratchets and size of the trailer aside. I love how the torso is held in place by the connectors that fold up that used to connect to the trailer sideways. Capone is pretty cool too how part of the trailer forms his robot form, similar to the cartoon.
.... that entire FREAKING trailer could pass as its own standalone toy, jesus christ!
At this point they are just using the other bots as gap fillers for the trailer

This trailer is almost the **entire** combiner mode. I wish the bots would be better integrated instead of just being “worn” on top.
But that's pretty much how Menasor worked originally. The rest of the stunticons were just to bulk him out
It's one of his defining aspects, just watch his devastation transformation, that really shows off what it's like

Your grey mystery piece is for the connection for Breakdown to Menasor's leg. It slides in the gap at the back of Breakdown between the blue panels to make his connection better to Menasor's leg.

That snapage just... that hurts me so much to see. Glad it isn't the worse case, but ouch just all the way
you need some lubrication for those tight ratchets. It happened with my DX9 omega supreme too, the factory forgot to lubricate those ratchets before assembly.
What would you use to lubricate them?
@@SardoNumspa82 WD-40(heard some incidents that it breaks plastic, but i've been using it for 3 years with no issue), or any lubricant for bicycle gears
That combiner leg ratchet issue is just very painful to watch :(

The leg ratchets issue is no joke for sure. Mine didn’t break because I saw this video first luckily. Mine is ridiculous tight on both hips. I ended up taking both apart and removed one ratchet per leg. Each leg has two at the hip joint. Way overkill. I finished my DX9 set and started getting the x-transbots version. The transformations are a little more trouble with x-transbots, but all in all I’m actually happier with x-transbots. Even with the extra price for the separate trailer.

With that said, I like how clever the transformation of DX9 Motormaster in the upper body part but failed on the leg part. And sucks that your copy got damaged. I've seen some posts with them not having any issues on their copy. Maybe it's just unfortunate that yours has very tight ratchet joints...

Ok, it's official. I'm not a fan of the whole Menasor can be his own component thing. It takes the fun out of having a set of combiners.

Dx9 scale is good with the other stunticons, I don’t mind a long trailer, but I love the simplicity of transforming it, I also love the fact That dx9 included menasor with the trailer which looks neat, only complain is that leg ratchet on menasor is really tight

That small grey piece that was never described in the instructions goes to Breakdown in his vehicle mode stick it underneath between his tail pipes in order to connect to Menasor's leg.
Perhaps his trailer is so long because he's compensating for something else 😏

When you pan the camera along the side of the trailer, it reminded me of the movie Naked Gun 33 1/3 when the camera panned up her legs and she had two sets of knees. hahaha.
I like the idea of the typically combined robots having their own bodies without the need of others, so this is actually pretty cool imo
It is the only review in which I have seen the transformation of the thighs of menasor, in fact you are the best

This has the simplest and easiest 3rd party transformation I've seen in a while.
That gray piece might be something to connect the other stunticons to form menasor. That’s just a guess though
I think my most favorite 3rd party Motormaster/Menasor (and the other stunticons) is still TFM's Powertrain/Havoc. It doesn't have the exact G1 design, but I do love the IDW comic stylized look, as well. Plus the way the combination of trailer/transformation/storage etc. works, is still done best by TFM, to me personally. Plus, I still completely love just how nice Powertrain's truckmode looks next to MP10's Truck mode.
Emgo, I find that when the ratchet joints are way too tight the spring is too powerful for the joint. Take out the spring cut sections off till you feel comfortable with the tightness and then file the teeth down on the larger ratchet same again till you feel comfortable with the tightness. I know this is a lot of messing around but it is quicker than waiting for replacement bots, hope this helps.

I agree with the fans toys being all inclusive and the best. I like clever transformations, it's why I collect transformers. If I was interested in perfect trucks and robots, I'd buy those separately. It's the transformation that makes the difference.
They should have made the hip joint diecast to reduce the chance of breaking or used a harder plastic if anything.
12:16 for a brief moment there, I thought it was going to use the trailer hitch joint for waste rotation. And like... what a trick that would've been.

Honestly, if u remember back from the cartoon Motormaster basically was the whole Menasor. He transformed to Menasor himself, & the other cars just mounted to the back of his legs & arms.

I had exactly the same issue with both hip ratchets, used sand paper to smooth the ratchet tips down & grease them again, think it's a common issue.
Mid transformation of Motormaster, just after the waist assembly was folded into place.. It looked like MM was trying to flash everyone by opening his overcoat..
This is more accurate than the other one with two fake front truck legs

gorilla glue works best on breaks on joints like that , also did you try loosening the screw on the ratchet joint
I have gorilla glue and yes I tried loosening the screw. doesn't really do much
Obviously dx9 and x-transbots will use the trailer for the combination. the surprise will be fans toys, because the trailer is all inside the leader motomaster
Astrotrain is to haul the decpticons in space while motormaster hauls them with on the ground delivery
If you're having issues with the ratchets in the hips, on the trailer transformation, your hip may have been transformed backwards during assembly and packaging... I couldn't get mine to lock fully into place, it made the leg stick out at a 45% angle, and so I decided to try rotating the entire thing around and it went all the way into position after spinning it around...so if you are having troubles, don't try forcing it, or before you bother attempting to disassemble it, just spin the whole leg around and rotate the thigh to the other side and see if that works for you like it did for me.
You can also use a pair of hemostats to clamp the ratchets before you move them, if they are still too tight during articulation, as they have those little tabs that are exposed for doing exactly that.

So I just got this beast of a figure for Christmas, I’m aware of the grey piece being used to attach Breakdown, but mine includes a small translucent piece that came in a small bag and it also isn’t referenced anywhere..does anyone know what this piece is? Kinda looks like a Lego piece lol
I would like to know how much dx9 Capone runs.
Both ankle rockers broke the first time turning them on my Menasor and my legs don't go down all the way. They are actually stuck and I can't even move them besides back and forth, nothing to the side SMH. How does DX9 not realize this, I think those tight ass ratchets is the same situation for everyone else that has this figure.
