Playing through this again on PS5, it's amazing how well the game holds up in terms of gameplay and level design. It truly was and still is a masterpiece and one of my favorite games of all time.

@@dannysullivan12345does it get better eventually? It took me extremely long to get to the first boss, and know I’m stuck just trying to reach tower knight and get heals.. only played bloodborne btw
What I did on the first boss was that I dragged the blob to one end of the room before sprinting to the other end and pick off some of the blobs that were left defenseless over and over again until I got the big blob into the corner and repeatedly hit him until he died.
Demon's Souls does an awful job at explaining what you need to actually be doing. You're supposed to light up each area stone thingy, then revisit the same area to unfold the complete story. Defeating bosses is only half the game.
FromSoft never explain how to play their game. It's their trademark, you need to figure it out by yourself and this is part of the fun of these games actually 😅
Surely the game with the most RPG elements, player agency and non-linearity in the Souls series and values strategic thinking over raw mechanical skill and being able to press the roll button at the right time is the most casual. Sure.
These games were made for gamers who can't combo for their life lolololll.....slash......dodge......shield.......magic......slash......dodge......shield......
@@ilovedrums1000 Imagine how much harder NG2 would be if you couldn't combo, couldn't jump, and could only use three basic moves at a time, but all the enemies were still just as fast and strong, and dying meant losing all your experience and resetting you to the very beginning of the level. You'd ragequit in seconds, lmao.
@@ilovedrums1000 I dunno why your previous reply isn't showing, but I ain't saying NG is easier. It's just silly to compare games that are built around completely different mechanics. I mean, hell, Team Ninja took direct inspiration from Souls games to make Nioh, which was basically both series combined, and even then the gameplay had to be altered drastically to make the player's movements fair to the computers. But now I want to replay NG2 without jumping lol
