You don't need to brake boost these, there is virtually no turbo lag because of hot inside V design, so once you're in optimal gear specific to the speed of a roll you just hit the accelerator and the car goes. If there is lag its so extremely negligible that doing brake boosting would not make a difference. These new cars pretty much eliminated turbo lag to a point that the only "lag" you feel when you punch it or use the kickdown function is the time it takes for transmission to downshift. Since they're already starting in a lower gear, there is no delay when they hit the gas.
@@GXMAN16 true but it makes a slight difference which in a race this close could mean the win. I have an f10 M5 with the dct. Even with the kick down shift it roast the tires from a 60 roll. These new awd M5s are beast.

It doesn't sound like a lot but you have to keep in mind this is unsprung weight so in actuality it would make a noticable difference since there is less power loss used to spin each wheel

Pre lci is older than the lci which means more miles on it. So the hp & torque might have reduced by a lot from time to time. Any car is the same for sure.
It starts out around 60K more BASE price, completely not worth it for .1 faster 0-60 times. You won't feel that in everyday driving if you drive one then the other. Its the exactly the same drivetrain, the M8 just has slightly less restrictive tune on the transmission to get that .1. The LCI has the same less restrictive tune on the drive train hence why it put down power slightly better and edges out in front, same engine and tranny as the pre LCI.
Awesome. Expected the LCI to be faster by about a car (if that) which it basically was. Can the LCI owner slap his car back into auto???? I assure you manually shifting a ZF8 is not the wave Also nice to note the Non LCI has Carbon ceramic brakes, which shaves a decent amount of weight.
the ZF8 transmission in my M240 (HP50) is different from the one in the M5C (HP75) but I found that manually shifting is slightly better, my car auto shifts at 6500 RPM but I manually shift at 6700 RPM to squeeze out a bit more power. personally i’ve seen better results manually shifting.
idk if it even was faster it was more or less dead even glad I didnt shelve out more money for the lci m5 . i installed some dinan turbo inlets bmc filters already and put a gallon or two of e85 in it and it flies
If you look at the last 60 roll was neck and neck. But the 21did paddle shift and the 19 throws the gear into auto after going WOT ( but 1 race he did paddle shift). So makes a slight difference. I found out this info after the races.

Lci trans 8hp76 is on all m5 with production date of 09/2019 and forward. Xhp confirmed my 06/2020 m5 had it.
2020 pre lci uses ZF 8speed transmission as well not the 2019 and below versions

Yo if the white M5 owner sees this were u manually upshifting ur car in the roll races?
He told me only 1 roll race he used paddles. All the others he started the rolls in manual mode and then threw it into auto after going WOT
