Upgrading the SSD will not void your warranty. Valve has said that opening it up, while at your own risk, doesn’t void the warranty. You can even buy parts to repair it yourself from ifixt, which valve partnered with. The only thing about opening it up is that damage YOU do to the inside of it is not COVERED by the warranty.
Hmm will valve replace the 2 screws that I discovered missing from the emf come heat shield cover in my SD... yes seriously the 2 screws on the right side weren't in there :D
They aren't missing. They used the left side inner case screws to hold down the heat shield on the newer models. So when you put back in the case screws it'll hold the heat shield in place
That battery will NOT charge the steam deck 2.5 times and here's why. The steam deck has 40 watt hours and 5313mah, so mathing it out its voltage is 7.4 or so, which is 2x 3.7v lithium batteries in series. That battery pack is "16000mah" but at what voltage? Probably 3.7v, which makes for a watt hour rating of 59.2. Taking inefficiency into account it would most likely charge it just over 1 time. If you bothered to check the description of the product from the link that YOU provided it even states it charges from "0% to 100% one times." Oh and magnets near a circuit board is dangerous.
Look at u mr fact checker. I appreciate you my boy. Also I bet nuts I’d walk u bad in the real life. On the internet ya got me but catch me at the Walmart and I’d molest u dawg.
I have that Antank battery kit. It brought performance of my deck to a crawl. I had to rip the mount apart and remove magnets to fix that problem. Now that the magnets aren't killing performance, the other problem I get is totally random notifications that says I am not using a fast enough charger. EXTREMELY annoying. I am surprised you recommended this product.
I'm trying to figure out what to get my husband for his birthday next month. He just purchased a Steam Deck and I figured he might need some accessories to add to it. Thanks for the suggestions!!
hay, just a heads up... all network ports are RJ45. That is the name of the connection standard and has nothing to do with the transfer speeds. for comparison, all old phone hardline cables are RJ11 and the newest USB is USB-C, those are their names
What's funny is I thought I broke my steam deck by spilling beer on it only for valve to tell me to open it up. Found nothing wrong. And turns out their update broke mine. So they sending me a new one
That battery back looks cool but didn't Dbrand have some magnet troubles where they broke steam decks due to it affecting the fan? Basically, scared of anything with magnets near my drvice because of that lol
I bought the basic 64gb in 2022, but trust, when Steam Deck 2 comes out, I'm splurging on more storage!! I love my Steam Deck now, but I have to carry my 1TB external because I put all my schoolwork on it when I travel.
Couldnt agree more with all the junk docks on amazon, i tried an ivolver and it burnt out after less than a month of average playing and charging. You went way more in depth about the dock than half of the videos ive seen so far. thanks for the recommendations.
the actual dock you need is one of the new ones with an nvme m.2 slot built into it, so when you dock your deck, your dock now has access to over 2tb of information by itself as an 'external'. essentially your dock itself becomes a media server.
My Deck killed two SanDisk 1tb sd cards. SanDisk did refund them but it's annoying enough that I don't regret installing a 2tb Western Digital ssd instead. And following the iFixit guide is surprisingly easy.
IDK if this would work but if the stick grip companies would put a small capacitive metal rod through the stick and it would be flush in the middle on top of the stick, wouldn't that solve the capacitive touch issue for gyroscope functionality? Conduct just enough energy from your finger to the actual sensor on the stick? I dunno might not transfer enough with the rod being that much resistance. Idek much about electricity but its certainly a thought.
"would not recommend you do that" me who already planned on putting in hall effect thumbsticks. Well guess i might as well throw some upgraded storage in there since i have a 1tb m.2 doing nothing anyway.
I’ve been infodumping on the steam deck and I keep hearing about “oh nooo it’s an involved process” with SSD switching. It’s not if you’re any familiar with building machines.
I have a 5tb surgically gorilla glued to the back of my steam deck and then i have a usb-c little hub thing glued to that gives me pass thru charging and the hdd is connected to the mounted dock hub thing then i have a script set to auto load the hdd so now i have 5tb by default a built in stand cuz the way its mounted on back gives it perfect thickness to stand on its on and its has a 4k hdmi port i have moblie and stationary all in one 😅 my teackpads i used the oni stickers that came with the cyberpunk game cut them to fit the shape and now my trackpads have some cyberpunk asthectic
What is that shooting game that you kept putting clips of in the video? Looks like it's absolutely up my alley. Im waiting on my steam deck in the mail and im game shopping right now. Ive only ever played console so I am completely new to steam.
I wonder if there's a way to translate "villhöver" which is two Swedish words combined into a whole new word "vill ha" and "behöver" which means "wants" and "needs". "Villhöver" is basically a word that points out the want in the expression need to have. Is there an English version?
Ironically, the gorilla glass on my iPhone 13 pro was scratched within the first week of owning it so I had to put a screen protector on which I hate. But my steam deck doesn’t have that kind of glass and I haven’t scratched it at all since owning it.
I saw you doing a review for a steam deck and scuf envision pro controller I heard that the steam deck is a PC so the ? Is can I use the scuf envision on a steam deck
Windows PCs . Scuf has it on the landing page. It sucks I wish it worked with the Linux based os of the deck or Mac for that matter, and console while we are at it. It’s very limited on platform
there's one true must have - screen protection - while it only protects it against scratches and minor bumbs (don't expect it to hold of a 50cm drop onto sharp rocks tho!), the 10-20 bucks extra are definitively cheaper than a 99 bucks screen replacement when you can't see shit trough all the scratches and bumbs anymore! ;-) (my phone does in fact NEED a new foil every 2 years - tho i would say i'm like medium careful with it, not carelessly trowing it with keys into the same pocket, but it definitively has seen some sharp rocks before 😅) Edit: and yes, i use this same smarty around 5 years by now, and planning on using it till something similar but better enters the market - sadly, the successor is a disapointment, and there's literally no better compromise for me than this modell - but i also have different priorities than most... xP
what's the best controller to pair with Steam Deck? so picturing the Steam Deck connected to a TV and while sitting on the couch I don't want miss all the functionality of the touch pads and back buttons and basically want a controller with which I can replicate all the Steam Input settings possible with a Steam Deck
The most similar thing is probably a PS4 or PS5 controller if you want to keep that touchpad functionality. From what I've heard, they work great on the deck, and the touchpads are fully functional!
uhh "rj45 gigabit port which is rated for 5G"....5G is not a rating for ethernet, "gigabit" means 1Gb per second and you probably won't see above that on nearly any dock for the deck especially since everything must share the bandwidth of your one USB C port. And if for some reason you meant 5Gb/s then you'd at least say "five gigabit."
Got the battery pack and the dock. Both work great. Except I don't think any of the case protectors will work with the battery pack. Any cases that work?
unfortunately for me the steam deck is too unwieldy and uncomfortable to hold for me... the switch is the perfect size, anything bigger is too much IMO
I bought a sabrent 1tb ssd and sabrent 1tb sd card from their official website and I don't regret it. I wouldn't buy anything off of Amazon because it could be knockofff or used shit that was most likely faulty. It came to my house in 4 days which was nice. I bought my steamdeck 64gb version for less than I would have if I bought the 512gb version and have double the space. I did buy it second hand from Facebook marketplace or else I wouldn't have bought it at all because they are overpriced in my opinion, picked it up for 300 USD which I couldn't pass up. steam deck for 300 and 2tb of storage 205 after tax was the best choice I ever made.

I yolo’d it and installed a 2 TB SSD which (back then) costs almost as much as the SteamDeck itself.
I feed my Steam Deck one first born child each week and it keeps it pretty happy.

Yeah this is why I'm just going to use the baseus battery and deckmate personally.
I recently added the flux converter to my Steam Deck last week and now get 300 fps on highest settings on any AAA game. Highly recommend!
😂 I was hoping someone installed the flux converter
what's that
@@hiddenguy67 Its kind of like a plumbus.
@DjXilma it just has a higher differential apparatus ratio. But that thing is tits

the magnets prevent the fan from spinning up, just use 3M Dual Lock to mount it to the back instead of the magnetic dock
I'm trying to figure out what to get my husband for his birthday next month. He just purchased a Steam Deck and I figured he might need some accessories to add to it. Thanks for the suggestions!!
Instructions unclear; there’s now lithium discharge all over my stimulated deck.
Happens to the best of us 😂
I install the Gullikit hall effetct joystick on my deck and this upgrade make small mouvement on FPS soo better. I recomment this upgrade
Love your videos and personality keep up the good work, I just bought a steamdeck and was happy you dropped this before it showed up
Thank you! I’ll keep it up

Loved the Snarky video. Very helpful and ordered my Jsaux case doohickey as I was watching the video.
Love how far this channel has come
Damn that backdrop is amazing
Saw dude with 100 controllers on his wall behind him… yep this is the right channel for me 😂
damnnnn, your wall is insane. crazy setup!
I recommend the 256 gb Samsung micro sd cards it works great in my 64 gb Strem deck.
heres something that will help LOADS ... the thumbsticks are the same size as the ones on the quest 2 sooooo quest 2 thumb caps fit perfectly :)
Definitely buying some of those recommendations

I thought about that, but all 3 of the versions come with pretty respectable carrying cases.

Im going to want to play some switch, WiiU games on my steam deck so im defintly going to get a 1Tb micro sd card

Yes I can

I said I haven't cracked a screen either... then it happened to my new phone. I've def broken more "unbreakable" screen protectors.
You should test out the Epomaker Machenike G5 pro controller when it releases. Looks dope for $50
