Bill, I echo others here in thanking you for posting this rare gem of GH history. I certainly remember your character and was disappointed when your character left. I thought that Darren was a great addition to the younger set. Thanks for the great snippet of nostalgia!
@@williamschreiner4247 You're most welcome, Bill! I was a fan of GH for many years, and my favorite time period was, without a doubt, the entire 1970s.
I was 11 years old watching GH at this time. I started watching in Jan of 1978 (when Laura killed David H.) but for the life of me I dont remember this scene. And I got a good memory for GH!
This is right around the time when the show began to improve and changes were made. It was given 6 months to turn things around or risk being cancelled.
A tiny piece of GH I hadn't seen before. Thanks! For those looking for all kinds of extra footage from that era, check the channels I have subscribed to, such as Sussezq (lots and lots of footage), Drama Syndrome, etc. Full episodes that folks have posted of days gone by! Sorry there's no more of the character of Darren though.
@@williamschreiner4247 You are welcome! I am a lifelong GH fan since 1978/1979; first a Rick and Lesley fan, then became a big Luke and Laura fan. Most of my subscriptions are dedicated to those couples, but overall the 70s and 80s are my favs, with the 90s a close second, and early 2000 not too bad. Go to my YT, skim through all my subscriptions, and be prepared to be addicted for a long time! :)
I've heard of Sussezq(I watched it all several years ago) so that I don't need to see. But this Drama Syndrome, etc. Channel you mentioned I cannot find. I more than likely seen the full shows on other channels though
@@davidbrunson8407 I'll have to dig and see if Drama Syndrome is still in my subscriptions. Sometimes channels get bumped off for copyright violations, and then I lose them. If not, Drama Syndrome should still be there.
@@betsykeller9096 ok yeah it might have gotten taken down...I know alot of them do with copyrights if the show isn't abbreviated or covered up. My goal is to find more stuff from the 70's if at all possible. It's rare but a few have existed and I've found several years ago. I'm not interested in 80's 90's or afterwards because I already seen all or most of that and when it comes to soaps, I'm not a fan of rewatching. I want to see these shows (if they exist) for purposes of my own, I like to write down who appeared on each and every episode. Please take your time with listing any and all channels I can subscribe. If you come up short it's ok. It's no problem..thanks for checking
Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I really enjoyed watching it. You're so lucky to have worked on the show. Any chance you can post the whole episode? Would love to see the entire show. Thanks again!
Thank you for sharing this with fans. It's so difficult to find material from this time, especially in such high quality. Was this like a gift for your last episode? Anyway, thanks again.
@@williamschreiner4247 Thank you so much for replying and sharing this - and the Groundlings shows too. It was nice to have something to take my mind off the news these days.
GH has been through many changes over the years since it premiered the early 60's to present however I prefer these days of more down to earth storylines than what they have going on these days with Sonny, Carly and all the OK but uninteresting characters than the ones currently, to bad they wouldn't let you and Darren return to the soap.
Can you imagine Darren today, living comfortably in Michigan with his wife, kids and grandkids, and one night deciding to do a Google search on his old girlfriend, Laura Webber? Talk about dodging a bullet! haha
Jersey Girl, unfortunately, this is the only tape I have! VCR's were not common back then and I've not been able to find footage from that period online anywhere.
@@williamschreiner4247 thank you for responding. I started watching in 1980, so I missed the David hamilton/scotty stories. This was awesome, thank you.
So, not only did Laura dump Scotty because he wouldn’t sleep with her but she started playing Darren to get with David 😒!! Boy the more dirt that comes out on Laura 🤦🏾♀️!!!
Thanks for sharing. I like Kin Shriner, but I think you had more chemistry in this scene with Jackyn Zeman than Kin Shriner did. They missed the chance for your character to get the goods on Bobbie and become an iconic thorn in her side. However, it is best not to dwell on "what ifs" because in the higher scheme of things, you had better things to do.
It was a pleasure to work with Kin. I think they wanted to go a different direction. Utimately they found what they were looking ror in Anthony Geary who was an excellent provocateur.
Wow! Thank you for this! :) Scotty, Bobbie, and Laura were babies!!! :)
And we, none of us, had any idea what we were doing!
This was right before I started watching, in the summer of 1978. Excellent!
Nice to see some of the characters in their younger years and to see what the backstories and old storylines were.

I NEED MORE FROM THIS ERA... ICONIC STUFF...
Wow!!!! just wow!!!! I stumbled upon this and thank you for posting...
Major hottie of the times. GH should have held onto this guy.
What a find!

It's been lost in a box in my storage for years.

Yes, apparently getting rid of me did the trick!
Bobbie...she's always 💖 such a flirt...reminds me so much of myself with the guys!
Jackie was such a fun person to work with. She was just so much fun off screen.

Betsy, thanks for that information. I was unaware of those channels.

Sorry Darren, Laura won’t be staying one place long enough to check the mail
😂😂😂
Darren's adorable, but no one seems terribly fond of him.
Exactly!
Thanks for posting 👍
What a coincidence that you and Ken have the same last name but different spellings. 😊😊
It was endlessly confusing to everyone, especially since Kin had a twin brother named Wil!
PLEASE IF YOU HAVE ANYMORE EPISODES SEND TO ME!!!! PLEASE, PLEASE!! HUGE FAN!!! OF THIS ERA... GLORIA MONTY YRS...

You got it exactly. It was very hard to get tapes back then, but one of the editors slipped this to me on my last day.

This is when Scotty wasn't such a clown...
I wonder why Bobbi hates this guy.
Wants Scotty to herself.
Yep!
Genie Francis was a knockout !!
She was a doll.
I loved GH before Gloria Monty got her hands on it, it was an actual soap opera, then it turned into sci-fi with Luke and laura
I tend to agree. I like Scotty and Laura ad Bobbi.
Those were the days. Turned very unrealistic later.
Watching this i think she should have kept Darren. I bet she felt looked to much Iike Scotty. They could almost b twins
_"too"_
You can join Darren in summer school.
Lol.
