Jesus, suing the old Long Ranger to stop him from wearing the mask is just sick, that's like if they banned the Fourth Doctor guy from dressing and acting like him for the kids. Sick.
Especially since Clayton Moore was not charging for his appearances as the Lone Ranger. He set up a very successful real estate agency after he retired from acting, and did not need the money.
The only good part of The Lone Ranger (2013) is that final sequence with the trains. I actually think it was shot really well and the music going along with what is happening makes it fun to watch. That's just my opinion, I get why people don't like the movie.
When you said his name was Clinton but he "spells it with a K", I thought, "So his name was Clinkon? That's a dumb name." Took a while to realize the mistake.
Clayton Moore never charged a penny for his appearances as the Lone Ranger. After the Fifteis show went off the air, he retired from acting and became a real estate broker. He eventually set up his own agency, Ranger Realty. He had plenty of money (this was long before the collapse of the real estate market). That was why people were so angry when Moore was legally prohibited from protraying the Lone Ranger.
Hearing about the days when Clayton Moore reminds me of the annual appearances of Jay Thomas on Letterman where he'd tell his classic story about his encounter with Moore when he was doing a local radio appearance in costume back in the early '70s (worth searching for on RUclips).
Between the production budget and marketing, this film would've needed to make $800 million worldwide just to break even. FOR A WESTERN. That's insane!!!
I want to see a film or show about the real life inspiration for Lone Ranger: black wild west Marshall Bass Reeves! I saw Taylor Sheridan is now producing a new show about Bass Reeves and I can’t wait!
In regards to Clayton Moore being forbidden from wearing the Lone Ranger mask. He really didn’t skip a beat. A special pair of sunglasses that resembled the mask was custom-made for him and he continue to make appearances. He got even more press for this and that dreadful more bad press.
I was genuinely excited hearing that I was going to get to see a big budget Lone Ranger film AND a Green Hornet film just a couple of years apart when they were both in production... I watched these old shows with my Great Grandma and love them... I equate them because The Lone Ranger(John Reed), a _proto Superhero,_ is canonically the Great Uncle of The Green Hornet(Britt Reed). Maybe lame to some, but i love it.... and then BOTH movies were fucking terrible. Great.

Fun Fact: When the jungle cruise opened at disneyland, Walt Disney and other managers of the park took the first ride on the boat. The captain driving the boat kept cracking jokes about the animals and by the end of the ride his manager was upset with him because of the jokes and not taking the ride seriously, so the captain thought he was going to lose his job. Walt Disney came over and congratulated the captain on making the ride a fun experience and decided to make the jokes a staple of the Jungle Cruise experience, and the captain got to keep his job.

Star Trek conventions disprove your point about "Loving" doing public interaction appeances after your career has hit a full stop due to Hollywood stereotyping. Ask the Gilligan's Island cast how much they enjoyed traveling around to grocery store openings in order to have any income at all. I believe the poor guy did love it and it was criminal to bar him from public appearances. However, that's simply not always the case.
@@ItWasAShtShow You miss Trump yet? Oh and everything you think about Trump is wrong. Defending joe biden or the democrat party at this point just proves who the real fascist is.
What "The Legend Of The Lone Ranger" got right, casting Michael Horse as Tonto, Disney got doubly wrong by miscasting Depp. If Disney was trying to make an even bigger box office bomb than the predecessor to its Lone Ranger film, then mission accomplished. No need to spend $200 million plus to make an effective Western movie. A movie like this shouldn't have cost more than $40 million to make. The treatment of Clayton Moore in the lead up to the making and release of "The Legend Of The Lone Ranger", is a reminder that there is nothing new about reboots of IP's that disrespect the actors and fans of the original.
