I have a set of these that have been my full-time cooking solution for something like 5 years. At this point, I can make them both work, so the electronics are likely to hold up, but the rest of it has a number of problems. The plastic housings become brittle over time. Both of mine have many pieces that have broken off, the class tops come off now, which I suppose is good for cleaning, but cleaning these things is a serious pain. There are many little spots for grease and such to gather, so they tend to get a little grungy over time, but the biggest problem I have with them is the plastic film over the buttons. On both of mine, the glue broke down and that film lifted up. I had a drop of moisture from a boiling pot land on the exposed area and the device malfunctioned until it dried out. Eventually, one would not shut off with and the other wouldn't adjust the temperature. After 5 years of almost daily use, that isn't bad, but the housings and general build quality on these things are poor enough to be more than just annoying.
The one thing nobody ever mentions about this Nuwave is that it makes a loud noise like a microwave. If you are cooking something for a long time (eg. 15 or more minutes) the noise can be very annoying. Also the fan makes a lot of heat. If you are cooking something for 15 or more minutes the room will heat up very quickly. I'm wondering if anybody has experienced this with their Nuwave. Otherwise maybe my Nuwave is defective. All comments appreciated.
I have this unit- it works well. I think the controls are a bit complicated and the max cooking wattage is 1500. Many models from different manufactures offer 1800 and 2200 watts for faster cooking times. For the everyday cook this is fine
I wouldn’t buy direct from NuWave, as they are rated “F” by the Better Business Bureau. If you buy it from Amazon, say, they won’t honor the warranty, as you didn’t buy it from an “authorized dealer.”
Didn't work with my Revere Ware copper bottom frying pan how is that even possible. Didn't work with my other metal pots and pans some of which are found in professional kitchens ; so it is a bit of a scam believe me cuz you have to have the right cookware ... only works with cookware that will stick to a magnet so remember that
You obviously don't understand the concept. You can have my electric skillets, but you can't have my NuWaves. It's a PRECISION induction cooktop. That dial on your electric skillet will get you close, but the coil turns on and off, doesn't maintain a steady temp, and will burn food around the coil area. Uneven heating.
Love this one; induction cooking is the intelligent way to cook; been induction cooking now for over 20 years; Love it
I used to have one it’s worked perfectly for me I recommend this product

No issues with mine cracked the top still work love it
I want one. You can really determine heat so easily. I like the guy in the blue apron, he could sell me air!

Set it on a towel or cushion it's feet the noise should be much less.
If you're complaining about heating the room then you've obviously never used a gas range.

gardensofthegods That doesn't make it a "scam."
that's not a scam, genius - that's physics. they tell you it has to be magnetic in literally the first minute.
Use a magnet...if it sticks, you can use it.
Heck with nuwave I'm going to buy a electric skillet
