I upgraded to a very LARGE flight cage and what a difference in my four parakeets’ behavior! They are so active and sometimes all fly at the same time. I had one old parakeet that was a rescue and he is very timid. When I bought three more birds, he learned from them how to play and forage. He has given up the mirror for good! Thanks for all the info. I just introduced grated cucumber and apple for the first time and within ten minutes they are eating it. Their favorite treat is Timothy hay (purchased from the pet store and packaged for guinea pigs so it is very nice clean, green, non-moldy hay. ). They rip right through a handful, clipped to one of the perches with a hair clip, in no time. I love these little guys!❤️
NO MIRRORS they make them think there's another budgie but of course there's not witch makes them go insane. THIS HAS BEEN PROVEN AND TESTED PLZ NO MIRRORS! Budgie love 🐦❤
Just wanted to thank you! My son has been asking my husband and me for a pair of parakeets, and I've been scouring the Internet for proper care and feeding to ensure a happy, healthy home for our soon-to-be new family members. Most people recommend seeds only, but it sounded odd to me, honestly. Thank you for your wonderful smile, personality, and knowledge on these cute little bird friends!!
Thank you very much for the kind comments. Those made my day! I am also happy to hear that you are gathering as much knowledge as you can before getting a budgie. I am sure your family will do very well with budgie ownership!
I HAVE EVERYTHING READY FOR MY NEW BUDGIE! HIS CAGE SHOULD BE HERE TOMORROW. I CLEANED AND VACUUMED TONIGHT SO EVERYTHING WOULD BE PRETTY FOR MY NEW BIRD FRIEND! I LOVE BIRDS SO MUCH...!! THANKS FOR ALL YOUR FUN AND INFORMATIVE VIDEOS. LOVE YOU TOO!
Hi Sophie! Thanks for the video. I will be getting a hand tame green cheek conure from a breeder, and your advice was really helpful! That playground was really cute! I might as well go and buy that for my birds too! Thanks again
Summer Alam Hi Summer! So excited you will be getting a green cheek. Those are adorable and very sweet! I hope you enjoy your new birdie and the playground (my keets and Cockatiel both love it).
Great video!! Your so happy and have a positive attitude!! I love all your videos!! They helped me a lot! The painting is beautiful!! I will look forward to checking that out! That playpen is a perfect size, and yes JW is a great durable brand I have a JW toy! Those foods I will have to try that out and also the bird bread!! Thanks for this great informational video!! Best one out there!! Thanks again!!!
Thank you so much for the video! It's so helpful and cheery, and your so enthusiastic it makes the video a whole lot more entertaining and informative!
Love your videos I to use Harrison's pallets and their bird breads I had to convert my budgie she was on a seed diet when I got her you have the advise on birds keep up the great work
Hi im really NEW. I have two budgie albino's yellow n white. One is pretty trusting however the other is very very skittish and dominant he pecs and pushes the other one when I put my hand in to get them used to me. Aside from separating them how can i fix this and what do you think could be his issue? Ty for your videos, they've been quite helpful.
Hi there ... I was just wondering if you think that 26"L x 14"W x 22"H is big enough for two parakeets? Also, I was wondering whether it is possible to turn a fish tank into a parakeet cage as the parakeets in pet stores are kept in glass-walled enclosures?
Awesome video! I recommend buying this bird kabob called ole, its just like your average bird kabob but 5 times bigger and will keep your budgies busy for days.
Hello, what diet would you recommend for budgies when probably having an articular gout? I have harrison pellets, but have been always feeding by seeds, not pellets... Should vegs and fruits have an advantage before seeds or millet? Thank you. I am from Slovakia, sorry my not perfect english
Hi. Love your videos!! I need help please. How long does it take for parakeets to get used to their new home? It has been 3 weeks and still my birds are afraid. Any suggestions? I dont want them to be unhappy.
I have two Budgies, picasso and princess leia. They both flew away because my sister left the door open, we later found picasso in a tree but we didnt find princess leia. Do you think she is still alive? and also should i get a new mate for picasso? Please reply thank you
I enjoy watching your videos. My question(s): do I need to have the wings clipped before letting them out of the cage to play on a playground or can I let their feathers grow out? I also may need to tame them before letting them out to play. Should I let only one out at a time, or both together.
Their wings do not need to be clipped because if they fall they might get hurt just be sure to always watch them. If they get along you should let them both out but don't force the, out of the cage
If you are a beginner, I recommend having their wings clipped first. Once you get yo know them better, you can go without having them clipped. I have two Parakeets and one Cockatiel, all three of them haven't had their wings clipped in over 2 years now, and they are doing just fine. But if you are worried about them flying out of your house and/or getting lost you can get their wings clipped. It all really depends on what you want to do. I hope this helps! Best luck and wishes to you and your Budgies!
I have a budgie we got him about 1 week ago and we got some millet spray yesterday but he doesn't seem to want to eat it. Do i give it time or what?? Help!?
Give him time. It almost always takes time for budgies to try new foods, and you bird is still adjusting to you and his new environment. As long as he is eating Harrison's or other quality pellet then he's getting pretty good nutrition.
My new young Budgies would not eat anything when I got them home till I played videos of Budgies eating for them on my smart phone as they watched they began to swarm the millet spray & their vitamin feed. It really helped them get comfortable in their new home playing videos of Budgies eating, playing, bathing just hold your smartphone close to the cage, I had mine starting to get tame in two days I just left my arm inside the cage with them making slow movement's till they gained my trust in a week's time they were flying to my arm when I let them out to fly.

Hi, I am thinking about getting a budgie and was looking into all the supplies you would need. I read somewhere that they would need a seperate sleeping cage to get the proper amount of sleep that they need. I was just wondering if this is true and if anyone could answer my question I would really apperciate it! Thanks!
hey The Parakeet Perch i have a question about parakeet as my parakeet i have been taking care of it for about 5 weeks, i hand feed it for 3 weeks but till now when i want to pet him on his belly his still bites me and his bites hurt a lot what should i do i have already watch your video on how to pat your bird
hi I got budgie almost a month before. he is by now used to having my hand in the cage but he walks away when I hand feed him. I have been trying to hand feed him past week regularly 4 times a day. I have also taken away his food for 4 hours. it looks like he is scared to come close to my hand. however when I put food in his dish and take that closer to him. he eats from it right away despite seeing my hand. what should I do next? please advise. thanks kindly
I feel terrible I took 2 budgies, not knowing much about them. I have 2,females, they are my heart the cage I have is small & tound. Not good I am disabled & on a very limited income. I bought them all kinds of treats & toys. I actually did not have a few meals , but DO NOT MIND!! I drew them a beautiful budgie, so that made me happy. Seeing the painting. I always was active, I'm not allowed to be anymore. But if there is anyway I could make them a cage .I WILL !! They love fuji apples ¤♡¤ they are so good. Olivia is @ 3-4 yrs, she thinks she is the others mother , she gets in & out of her cage all by herself. Sissy Baby Girlfriend is not allowed out as she cries the whole time. I feel so bad for her when she trues to stretch her wings . beside myself in grief
Hi I have two budgies and have had two before, I have never been able to tame any of them and I try really hard. I am getting a third one tomorrow. I need alive from you. Please help soon
+Abigail Shapiro Try watching my taming video. If you can hand feed them (especially before you feed them meals and they're hungry) it will help. The key is to show them you are safe and a means of enjoyment for them!
Does she have a video for beginners? I'll be getting my first parakeet and my siblings don't want anything to do with it and said they won't take care of it when I go somewhere :L
Pixel Clarity did you get your budgies yet? make sure to clean out your cage atleast twice a week and clean out the food and water bowls. its better for the budgie to eat pellet food than seed foods. make sure you dont over crowd the cage with toys aswell. just a couple here and there.
Hi I am having a problem taming my bird I want to get another parakeet but not until he is tamed I tried your taming video he is still scared of me what should I do

Leandro, check out my video about how to know when your budgie is going to lay an egg. It is often hard to tell if your budgie is pregrant, but the video will highlight some signs about whether you have a bonded pair and whether the female is potentially going to lay. Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/Jn1nICv7nwQ/видео.html.
Mimis V. What types of tricks did you have in mind? The clicker training videos can actually get you started on that (clicker training and targeting), so feel free to check those out to get started!
hummingbird productions They can be, but the only time I have heard of this is when owners stay up at night and the bird(s) get on a routine to stay up late. If things are fairly quiet and lights are low or off, budgies tend to get quiet and sleepy at night.
Thecakecloner One bird is great if you have enough time to spend with it (several hours per day). A single bird will tend to bond a little more closely with its human. If you don't have a lot of time, then I recommend getting more than one bird (you will still need to allocate some time daily to spend with your pets, especially if you want them to bond with you).
Be more patient and don't try to force them to interact with you. They need to trust you and It takes time to establish trust with birds. A good first step i use is getting them to eat millet through the cage bars. And talk friendly to them a lot. They definitely respond to you better if you talk to them.
They don't hate you. Just give them time. Talk to them everyday. be nice to them. Don't respond to them negatively when you feel like they don't respond positively to you, this will only make it worse.
I'm confused because I know nothing about birds and I want to learn because I'm interested in getting a budggie and I know it will take a lot of research it took me 3 years to learn how to take care of a bearded dragon and I finally got one after that but what confuses me is that everyone is saying different things to feed a budggie one person said vegetables are good other people say seeds are good and stuff like that so I would appreciate if someone can guide me or tell me who is right and who is wrong or both are right so on so forth
Hi! So you should be feeding your bird veggies, fruit, seeds and pellets. If not they can become sick from lack of nutrition. Have fun + good luck, from me and my feathered friend, Amane. :)

Drake Mation yeah I heard that they can try to mate with the mirror when they are hormonal
Drake Mation IKR now im worried for all the bird owners who whatched this video.
do you think i can have a mirror if i have a pair of budgies (male, female)
Thalia Salmon actually if they have a cage mate they might not, just might not get obsessed with a reflection
Drake Mation Any proof of this ?
I absolutely love your enthusiasm!

BenZaMon leave it in his cage hang it somewhere in his cage and wait 3 days. After that they will gobble it down.
BenZaMon don't give it millet spray as a main food, rather seeds and fresh fruits.

I bought my budgies from Petsmart in May, and they don’t know how to fly. When I let them out they fly into the wall. What can I do to help them?
Great video! I also have a question, Is Zupreem parakeet pellet diet a good idea? I've tried looking for Harrisons but couldn't find it.
What a lovely video. With a very lovely face.
Thanks! :) by the way I love your videos +The Parakeet Perch

if i have a cage with quite thick metal bars, how do i install a nest box if i cannot cut through the bars? great video by the way :)
Sorry, I wanted to research this and give you some options. The best thing would be to put the nest box inside the cage somewhere if you can.

Do you know how to train a budgie to stay on the playground when outside its cage and not take off?
I got the vision cage for my budgie !
I bought the play stand , nutri berries and millet
Hi I am having a problem taming my bird I want to get another parakeet but not until he is tamed I tried your taming video he is still scared of me what should I do
hi i love watching your videos i have a question are thicker perches better for your budgies feet
It's best to get perches of varying widths. Some thin and some thick areas are best, like you would have with a natural branch.
Where did you get the perch swing with the mirrors and bells at??
Vincent Gutierrez Got it at Petsmart!
***** oh thank you! Im gonna have to get Milo (My parakeet) one he would love it!
My budgie is pregnant and laid her first three eggs do you know any good brands I can feed her
Thanks! This is why I subscribed lol
agh. i LOVE nutriberries😊
1. Get more perches ( natural )
2. Get more toys because they (budgies) need to be more busy while your gone I would recommend feather land paradise shredding and forging toys
3. Switch the bowls to stainless steel, plastic collect bacteria
This isn’t hate just recommend
are nutri-berries fattening for parakeets?
yes millet is the best in pet store :)
Budgie & Milky not necessarily.
I'm 12 and I want a playful parakeet, what kind of budgie should I get
Thecakecloner You might try getting a hand raised baby from a breeder, as these tend to be more used to people. All budgies are active though, so I think you will be pleased with pretty much any bird, as long as it's healthy.
Not all budgies will be playful. Some will be aggressive, timid and/or not like humans at all. Since you're only twelve I would suggest getting two because you are going to be at school. Also do at least 2+ months of research first also budgies need to be taken to the vet and that can be expensive. Only buy budgies if you are going to take proper care of them
What kind of bird food do you recommend?
Saltii Seashell Zupreems Pellets are great! My birdies love it!
Depends
Can you please help me figure out how to get them to trust you ???
Thank you 🖤❤️
Did you draw that painting
It seems to me that having the feeders on the bottom may have the birds toppings in it.
Great video I have the same play gym
HAROLD600 Thanks and awesome. My birds really love theirs! Do you have the cockatiel version also?
Yes I do sorry for late comment
What is the best cage for a budgie.
do your bugie ever fight?
What is the size of the cage u are using
I love jw too!!!
hey I just got a playground the same one and I don't know how to set it up could you help me ?
@sofie bear aj there should probably be instructions in the box! (At least there was in the playground i got!)
I cut the spray Millet sticks in half or they’re too long, I’ll cut it in thirds and use it for training purposes
Same
I have the same playground for my budgies except it's different coloured
“HI GUYS AND THANX FOR CHECKING OUT ANOTHER VIDEO “
PS4 Gaming Pro it’s not nice to mock people😕 that’s just her personality
Can you make a video about how to tell when my parakeet is pregnant
You should already know that if you're breeding you're budgies. I will tell you anyways. If you are breeding you're budgies the male will feed her a lot by regurgitating food into her mouth. 8:28 That is some big millet! A little sexual innuendo there eh? I see what you did. Lol.
Cage setup video?
Can you please do a video on how to teach your budgie to do cool tricks.
I'd like to see that.
Mimis V. What types of tricks did you have in mind? The clicker training videos can actually get you started on that (clicker training and targeting), so feel free to check those out to get started!
Okay those are fine.
ok, any time.
Are budgies ever loud at night?
hummingbird productions They can be, but the only time I have heard of this is when owners stay up at night and the bird(s) get on a routine to stay up late. If things are fairly quiet and lights are low or off, budgies tend to get quiet and sleepy at night.
thanks
Lol my budgies are terrified of their toys!

Can I put plants in my parakeet cage
Check to see if its not toxic
I just got two parakeets and they hate me.i try to feed them from my hand but they fly away...I don't know what to do
they need time to get used to their new home.

I hear that flax seeds are good for them too
hummingbird productions Yes, they can have them and they are nutritious!
The Yellow Taco mainly seeds and some pellets
Hi! So you should be feeding your bird veggies, fruit, seeds and pellets. If not they can become sick from lack of nutrition. Have fun + good luck, from me and my feathered friend, Amane. :)

I have read that mirrors will keep your Budgie from bonding with you. Evidently this hasn't been an issue for you. What do you think?
