- After expelling Ganondorf from Zelda's body, he materializes into his large beast form. This form is reminiscent of his previous appearances, in which he appeared as a large pig.
Immediately when this battle begins, switch to Wolf Link form, and remain in this form for the entirety of the battle. As soon as the battle starts, he will charge directly at you; in Wolf Link form, press A right before he hits you in order to have Midna stop him mid-charge. By holding the analog stick left or right, you can throw him on his side and expose his weak point - the giant scar on his stomach. Latch onto him and bite repeatedly. He will then vanish, and portals will begin appearing around the room; watch each portal closely as they appear until you notice one of them turning blue, and prepare for him to come charging out of the portal. Block him and attack him. This is pretty much the entirety of the fight, as he teleports each time you damage him. Occasionally he will drop down from above to attack you, so be mindful if the camera begins to focus on the floor (you will see his shadow). A few rounds of this and the battle will end.

They should make Wolf Link grow bigger every time he upgrades and he becomes as big as Dark Beast Ganondorf.
That would've been awesome and satisfying.
The early 'fun tutorial' bits of Twilight Princess also foreshadow other, grander parts in other instances. A good example is when you hear the light-hearted, whimsical music as you demonstrate various sword moves to the kids in Ordon Village, only to hear a far more epic remix of the same music when the Hero's Shade teaches you new, advanced techniques.

bruh me too. i thought ganons beast form was way more colossal than that with the throne room being massive. I also remember it looking very realistic and more creepy
man, I wish I could see it through your lens, my first was ocarina, made it to ganon and had to go to school, left my n64 on pause all day and basically couldnt stop shaking until I got home.

You know what's actually interesting about this Ganon fight is that it truly doesn't look like Ganondorf used his triforce at all in the battle. His transformation was thanks to the twilight realm.
In the execution cutscene you can see him with tusks so he could already use this form and was going to but it got stronger from twilight magic
I always got the feeling he was toying with them until he blew up the castle. That's when got serious.
Ganondorf can turn into Ganon with the Triforce of Power. Just because it isn’t highlighted on his hand doesn’t mean the ToP didn’t give him the form. Learn the lore and stop saying random bullshit💀

Yup, I love the song so much. Also, this is the best (beast) Ganon design so far IMO.
My favorite aspect of the fight is how Midna is able to just throw Ganon around all on her own, Link is just holding his ground. Quite an impressive feat for our imp companion

Calamity Ganon was greatISH (it was a BIT easy not very, sort of medium) because there were numerous attacks, but I did it 2nd try. Dark Beast Ganon in BotW was VERY DISSAPOINTING

the portal part of this boss kindoff... scares me.
the anticipation, trying to find the right portal in time, and noticing the shadow above you...
Plus, I don't think Ganon is thinking straight after losing his hold on Zelda. This threw him into a blind rage, making him unpredictable.

I really love the fact you fought this whole battle with just Wolf Link and not using Link to make it quicker. Makes listening to the music much more satisfying.

I always aimed at the white spot on Ganon’s head with the bow and arrow, but it’s cool that you can do it multiple ways. In a way it makes sense to have both Beast Forms fight each other like that without equipment.
As a kid I always thought it said " Biblia" (bible in english) with the background vocals, made it feel surreal, scary and unholy. The vibe is so unbeatable.
No one has said anything about this but you can use the bow on Ganon a few times, until he forces you to go wolf form since he'll go into portals to dodge the arrows. (Yeah posted in 2019)
Funnily enough when I got to this boss years ago I actually started the fight using ball and chain since I saw it as my heaviest weapon. Ended up having to Google what to do when he started teleport dodging. Major face palm when I realized I was supposed to use wolf Link for later part of the fight. Didn't think to try arrows either until rematch.
I beat him this way. I didn't even know you could beat him with just the wolf.
You can also use the Iron Boots to toss Ganon. But it’s more satisfying to just use the Wolf form.
This game is the best in my opinion, up there in my favorites following Majoras Mask. This particular part of the game where it's beast vs beast just gives me chills and also Beast Ganon freaked me out XD
I loved this fight. Mauling his weak point with Link's wolf form was fun.

God hecking dang the spectacle of this fight. Its a big angry ganon pig that will charge you into the fucking stratosphere with this forboding track and heavy drums, and yet you stand your ground and hold him back as Midna freaking YEETS this monstrosity to the side with a battle cry that SCREAMS "Im gonna fuck shit up"

Man i wish this kinda fight was BoTW's final Boss, Dark Beast Ganon running around wrecking shit and not just staying in 1 spot shooting energy beams out, have us chase Ganon down on a horse, let us go Shadow of the Colossus and climb up on him to stab him some, have him run into a town and wreck stuff so we grasp the magnitude of his power people have been fearing for the past 100 years!
It would be even better if you had to stop him before he destroys Hyrule. Like having him move around destroying places. But i think that would be too much for the Switch to handle.
honestly, botw was a good game, but a mid zelda game with a pretty bad final boss sequence. possibly the worst in the franchise.
Use Hylian Link for the first parts of the battle to remove monotony (Ganon will stop falling for the arrow strategy after twice), and switch to Hylian Link after toppling him over as Wolf Link to end the fight in three rounds (the Master Sword is a lot more powerful than your teeth).

The two of them have been through so much and worked so long and hard to get where they are together that it doesn't matter that the embodiment of evil itself is rematerializing right in front of them; they know that together they are unstoppable and you can feel it in their chemistry.

It is so weird seeing Ganon as not the Final Boss, but as a REGULAR boss instead...
Ganon must have been furious about his control over Zelda being wrenched so easily after a game of magic volleyball, a game he and a Phantom Version of himself were never good at to begin with. And so that very outrage gets translated as him turning into a prowling beast who is consumed with only one desire: killing Link and Midna, though acting on such a primal and primitive instinct ends up making him clumsy and sloppy and reckless in his attack. Explaining of course why it is so easy for Link and Midna to strategically send him on his back.

I kind of wish wolf Link got bigger as the game progressed. Would have certainly made for some more interesting combat with monsters and make people calling wolf link a “beast” more understandable. Could have also made a giant wolf link vs Ganon a bigger fight than just having Midna grab Ganon to throw him off.
Oh well, I’ll take what I can get.

The entire boss fight was incredibly enjoyable.
You start out playing tennis with puppet Zelda, then you have a strength contest with beast ganon, then you have to outride ganon, then finally you have a traditional sword fight against him.

This fight is for those who wanted Whack-a-mole in their Zelda
It took me a while to figure out that it was supposed to press A and then hold the A instead of just pressing it to beat this boss. It took me many days to figure out it. And because of that I ended up completing all the parts of the heart and I caught 59 poe souls.

Odd place to write this comment but I don't know how to feel about Miyazaki, even if he doesn't take from Zelda games his dev team sure as hell does. And if he does or his team does. He sure as hell will not give credit. Like this arena is literally fucking O&S. The entire dlc in Prepare to Die takes from twilight princess, and it tells it's story literally. If he is truly in charge of all story elements and art direction then he is not giving credit where it is due. Elden Ring takes so much from BOTW it's uncanny, yet crickets, am sure stating your game draws inspissation from another is no grounds for copyright infringement. So either this fella is a petty intellectual thief or he is nowhere near as involved as people think.
