WHATS YOUR FAVORITE SCARY MOVIE!?
This one!
Halloween 1978 & Halloween 4
Conjuring 1&2.
Exorcist. That one’s messed up. I saw it in 8th grade.
Hm, Scream even tho it’s not that scary.
This is my FAVORITE scary movie ever! It’s very unique in that nobody actually dies in the film, but both of the daughters died in real life and are buried at the same cemetery. Very sad.
I listen to the Jerry Goldsmith soundtrack often, it’s incredible.
EDIT: AVOID the remake!!! Seriously, it pissed me off how the makers didn’t even understand the story.
Fun fact: the corpses in the pool and coffins were made with real human skeletons. 💀👻
Thought that was debunked?
@@erinraecowin I'm not sure. I have heard either way. Sometimes it's cheaper to get the real thing. I hope it wasn't.
They couldn't have been. Jobeth Williams would have gotten so sick from being in the water with actual dead bodies (especially with all the "scream acting" - she most definitely would have gotten some of the water in her mouth in the course of her performance). I doubt she'd be alive today if she was in the pool with actual dead bodies. (40 years later she's alive and well and doing fine.) 🙂
@@davidmarsden192 The skeletons were real, and clean. But the special effects guys dressed them up in fake gunk to make them look nasty.
It was discovered that one of the skeleton's in the muddy pool incident was real.
Look it up, no one was aware one of the skeleton "props" was actually a real person until later on.
Not just one of the best "horror movies" ever made but one of the best movies ever made! 😱
I grew up a few blocks away from this house in Simi Valley, CA and watched them film it when I was 8 years old. To this day that house is still known in the community as “the Poltergeist house”. Really enjoyed your reaction - and I appreciate how you noticed most movies with ghosts are filmed in the rickety old house on the hill, yet this was the first one to bring it to a suburban tract home. After this, no one’s home felt safe lol.
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@ItsAPrimatee I always do! Keep up the great work my friend!
When I went to L.A. for the first time I made a pilgrimage to the house. I always liked the architecture.
The clown jump scare always gets 'em. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
"They're heeeerrrree"
"Aw hellllll no!!!"
🤣
Definitely good practical effects in this, considering all the skeletons at the end were actually real! They were cheaper than fake ones, and they didn't tell the mom until after she filmed that scene.
😐
This one is a family favorite. My mom introduced it to me, and I’ve loved it since I was little. Always great to see other people getting to experience this movie for the first time.
Dude. You cracked me up at the start. 😆 The look on your face when she touches the TV screen. Then you talkin bout taking your kid to a doc and a priest if they did that 🤣🤣
Spooky season and 80s movies. No one can do it better 🙏🔥
That one scene where they speak about the light always gives me chills
I remember when I was little my mother told me she and my brother had watched it the night before and she didn’t want me to see it. Of course I snuck into the living room in the middle of the night and watched it. Lord I had such nightmares from it- my mother was SO mad! 😆
Wife shows hubby chair can move by itself.
"Why is she excited about this?!!!" Lmfao 🤣
Man all the best lines cut, oh well, absolute classic
This is honestly a great movie
Can you please react to Signs(2002)? It’s scary if you like.
I'm 100yrs old.
This came out the summer of '82 (I was 12yrs old), one week before Spielberg's other hit, "E.T."
I saw both films in theaters...twice!! I love BOTH films soooo much!!!👻👻
The things that happened to some of the people in this movie is really sad
Nominated for 3 Oscars
Best Visual Effects
Best Sound Editing
Best Original Score
But it lost to ET.
Speaking of, they actually filmed this movie in the same neighborhood where they were making ET.
Spielberg wanted to direct both films, but the Directors Guild refused, saying it would violate his contract. He only got a writer and producer credit instead.
The movie is said to be cursed as the skeletons in the swimming pool were real.
Not exactly the same neighborhood, they are 30 miles apart. I’ve been to both houses several times.
@@KevyNova Agree, I grew up a few streets away from the Poltergeist house. Although it looks like the same neighborhood as ET, definitely not the same.
@@MichaelAS007 I have family in SV so I’ve cruised by that house many times. The E.T. house is about a 40 drive away, depending on the time of day.
@@KevyNova oh nice, good ol’ Simi 😼
Fun fact: The hands that are tearing up the parapsychologist's face are actually Steven Spielberg's. He is crouched down underneath him tearing at the prosthetics.
That makes sense because the way the hands moved it looked like somebody else was tearing his face apart.
Seriously. Dude pulls out a whole ass steak. Please make yourself at home. Haha. Great reaction man. Keep up the great work
“Why is she so excited?”
Because she hasn’t seen enough horror movies! 😬😬
The movie is based on a real family about 20 years earlier...
*Many ppl from this movie died, some of mysterious deaths. Many say it's cursed. In the pool scene with all those skeletons.. they used real skeletons. Those weren't made of plastic for the movie. It was cheaper to use real ones. The majority came from India that they use in medical schools.*
Back in the day, programming went off the air, I think at midnight. National Anthem was played before signing off.
It always makes me laugh when reactors make comments like, “Why are they staying in this house?!” Or “Take the kid to a doctor/priest!” This movie came out long before ghost hunting shows and the like. The family lived in the house for quite awhile before this all happened. Carol Anne was born in the house (the dad tells us in that scene with his boss) which is probably part of the reason why she had such a connection to the house…not to mention her sixth sense. Good reaction though!
Growing up, i was traumatized by The Ring and The Grudge. Before that, i LOVED scary movies. All of em. But after those, i couldn't watch any. Ever. Still can't, really. Except THIS ONE. This is a nostalgic scary movie for me. I only recently realized I'm finally the same age as the mom, and that messed with my head. 🤣🤣
1982 was the Summer of Spielberg with this and E.T. both out with a month or so of each other
You should watch the second one, it's actually pretty good! I think so at least, especially the main specter in that one, he's spooky and his actor was actually dying of cancer at the time of filming so his gaunt appearance wasn't due to make up.
Gotta love a scary movie without gore and violence. Just saw it last week in the theatre again.
Great movie from the Master, Steven Spielberg
After Jaws, ET, Close Encounters
Of the Third Kind, and then this.
Thought the remake was not that good
Polchergeist?
I know that the effect of the guy pealing his face is dated but if you have ever had the dream when you peal your skin off and your hollow inside you will forever freaked out by that scene.... apparently it's actually a reasonably common dream.
they used real dead bodies on the set
'PG' meant something different in the 80s.
In real life the little girl died like 6 years later and the older sister was murdered by an ex boyfriend the same year the movie came out.
Yeah they had all sorts of crap happen, then and later. The Exorcist had lots of awful things happen on the set. Not sure about afterwards.
This movie is cursed
😳
Dominique Dunne and Heather O’Rourke. They are buried in the same cemetery not far from each other.
I actually don't like scary movies, yet I've watched this many times. I was a kid in the '80s and seeing it now, I can't believe I watched it. lol It seems more intense to me now for some reason than when I was a kid.
Jump scares get old. Suspense, tension, and horror last.
This movie series was believed to be cursed because a lot a bad things happened to some of the actors. The little girl and the older sister in the film both passed away, the older sister was murdered and the little girl passed back in the late 80's from medical issues. And of course as many other comments mention there were actual skeletions used in the pool scene as it was somehow cheaper than getting fakes so theres that. The second film has some weird shit surrounding it too but ill save the comment for then.
when i tell you...how traumatized i was with the bathroom scene of the guy ripping his skin off. I got so scared as a kid my entire body started shaking and my dad turned the tv off and started laughing at me LOL
Fun fact! The actor who plays the father is mr. incredible!
It's funny you've only just now seen it because I remember when you referenced the line "They're here" in other reactions.
Best horror movie that isn’t R rated. Poltergeist 2 is also great. What is sad about these movies is the little girl from these movies died at a young age. She never grew up.
The greatest Steven Spielberg film that wasn't directed by Steven Spielberg. Great reaction bro! 👍🏿
Or was it 🤣🤣....
@@Welsh_Dragon756 I know right
My Mom is not easy to scare with horror movies, and she usually laughs at them. Poltergeist freaked her out.
Primate's reactions to scary animated shorts are what got me into this channel.... love when he does scary movie reactions.
You should react to some of those scary short movies on RUclips as well. Some are really good. Like:
The Other Side of the Box
Lights Out
The Armoire
Thanks man I’ll keep them in mind!
@@ItsAPrimatee The poster above Robbie`s bed dated 31 Jan 1988... Heather O'Rourke (Carol Ann) died 1 Feb 1988.... older in film sister was murdered...
As a child of the 80's, this movie was the ONLY movie ever in my entire life to scare me. Actually gave me legit nightmares. No other horror movie has ever scared me, but this one did. Granted I was about 6 or 7 when I watched it, years after it's original theatrical release. But yeah, even till today no other horror movie ever scares me.
Oh my God you must look up Eddie Murphy on why white people don't ever leave the house in horror movies . It's hilarious as hell

Hope you do some other older ones, it’s hard not to appreciate the practical effects. I love a good monster movie even though they’re hard to come by these days imo but Pumpkinhead is one I watch every Halloween, it’s one of my favorites as well as Critters which both of these are old movies. Lights Out is a paranormal one that came out a few years ago that’s also pretty good if you enjoy paranormal stuff & haven’t seen it already. Love the reactions, can’t wait to see what you do for spooky season!
If you're afraid of spiders you need to react to Arachnophobia (1990).
I love this movie I hope you watch the second one the second one is my favorite. The old man still scares me to this day.
I'm not sure it's my favourite but the old man scared the hell out of me 🤣
This movie is the reason I hate clowns and creepy dolls
This movie freaked me out as a kid 🥲
"fun" fact when that lady is in the water with the skeletons and s*** apparently they were real and nobody told her until after they were done filming!
This movie is now over 40 years old
This franchise (the original 3 movies) is creepy, but hearing about all the weird stuff that happened behind the scenes just makes it creepier.
Also, didn’t enjoy the remake as much as I thought I would.
This one should not have been a 25 minute quickie.
Yeah, so many great scenes missing! I’d be a patron if I wasn’t broke.
There are also 2 sequels. Definitely watch part two. And just remember
"God is in his holy temple."
Poltergeist is my favorite horror movie but personally, I don’t like the sequel because in the first one, when they talk about “The Beast” it feels like it’s satan or some ultimate evil. In part two, the beast is revealed to be an ordinary man and that just isn’t nearly as scary for me.
Have you seen "It Follows" already?
If not: It's one of THE best horror movies in the last 10 - 15 years.
Time for you to watch it :)
NOW I feel old. My little brother broke out in hives when my dad took (dragged) us to see this! Thanks for reacting!
Fun Fact: I have psychic ability.
Watch THE BABADOOK. Watch IT FOLLOWS.
Mama is a must watch!! Same director of the IT movies and Jaime Lannister is in it!
Where the bb reaction?

Glad you enjoyed!
You have the best reactions to scary stuff!
What’s your favorite day of the week?
Don’t really have one in particular
Holy crap I’ve watched this movie a million times and I swear I never noticed the clown was in bed with her!!!
Unfortunately the young girl passed away from flu complications while filming the sequel if I remember correctly
Such a classic! Part two is also really great. I find it funny how so many US reaction channels pronounce it Poltra-giest instead of Polta-geist lol
Spooky season is on top
Hi It'sAPrimate I had not heard of the remake from 2017 before now.... this Poltergeist movie is the first one in a franchise trilogy .I really appreciate your reactions and comments for this movie ; I feel the same ....if a chair or things start moving on their own ... I am Not sticking around for more . In 1986 the movie Poltergeist 2 :The Other Side was made and in 1988 Poltergeist 3 was made . Thank you for your reactions and very well thought comments .
Glad you enjoyed it!
I just googled to see if this has any remix or whatever I just put in poltergeist movie and apparently it had two sequels during the A ids poltergeist 2 was like four years later and two years after that was number three I don't believe I saw either of the sequels the omen I never saw any of the sequels but I have the original and the remake
You should also react to the REC movies (1-4)
The Rocky Horror Picture Show (20th Century Fox 1975) A horror/sci-fi/comedy /musical. First on screen performances by Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick and Meatloaf! Must See Good! The biggest grossing midnight movie of all time! Don't Miss This Classic Movie!
Try get your hands on a film called ‘The entity’ shit was creepy when I watched it at a young age
Hey dude, don't watch the remake, watch the 2 sequels to this one, Poltergeist 2: The Other Side (1986), and 3 (1988). 2 has even an actor who you will remember over that clown after seeing him.
I personally think the sequels ruin the story of the first so I don’t watch them. The remake should be avoided at all costs!
hahah brave I wa slike 9 years old watching this i didnt sleep for a whole month
Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe.😊
The truth is...the little girl died after Poltergeist 2. Her big sister in this one got killed by her boyfriend, shortly after this film.
Classic sad thing about the two girls!!!
Just wish that you made this reaction little longer cause shot was cut out!
Spooky season? more like dookie season. hah. gotem.
Poltergeist 2015 sucked of course.
I was SO pissed after watching the remake. They completely abandoned the actual story and just made it a haunted house movie with cheap scares and horrible CGI ghosts.
Reaction to the longest yard 2005
The remake sucks, checkout part 2, it’s not that good, but still very good, part 3 sucks either
Hey Primate, just watched your Thor reaction and wondered whether you are going to do a reaction for thor 4. Or have you seen that in theatre's?
Itching for the next episode of Mando season two

The remake was so bad, I wanted to pull my face off like the guy in THIS movie!!! The remake is @ss!!! THIS is a classic 👻👻👻👻

❤
The way I hated this movie. I can’t tell you
This movie series is cursed. Cast/crew members died after each movie.
It's fcuking September bro!
October tomorrow, close enough 😂
@@ItsAPrimatee Halloween is 4 weeks away....not close enough at all . Did you put your Christmas decorations up yet?

Plan to at some point
Noti!

The remake sucks. Don't bother.
The remake is total @ss!! This movie is a CLASSIC!!👻👻👻
After you said that you feel bad for all the people who bought houses in that development cuz they were innocent and didn't know they were living over a burial ground all I was thinking right after that was imagine explaining this s*** to your insurance company like yeah my house opened a portal to hell and then kind of swallowed itself and you know it's been throwing the kids around and s*** yeah we need to move I kind of feel like this is a situation they would need like video evidence or some s*** I've seen a lot of videos of bizarre things to show to an insurance company usually Auto insurance but Jesus I they would have to think this is a prank and you know what if they can't afford to get a new place and replace everything in the house where are you going to live I mean sure the horror of the movie is over at least for the time being cuz there are sequels and I have never seen them so I don't know if it's the same family or not
This is hilarious 😂
