    I fasted for 19 days. A benefit that is often overlooked is emotional healing. The body holds on to emotions at a molecular level. Fasting helped to jump start my healing from PTSD.

    • @bhimakarma
      @bhimakarma 3 года назад +45

      @@ryanbarter3214 PTSD does not mean having horrifying memories. PTSD means having an unfinished or unresolved response to an event that we deemed overwhelming to our ability to change it or escape it.
      By allowing our body to process and complete the response, which was invoked by the event.
      This is done by a creating the quality of environment and time, in which our body can simply be allowed to complete its response, a manageable portion at a time, since the totality of the experience, was, is and will remain overwhelming.
      Just like anything else in life, which we find overwhelming, we just need to slow down, take one piece at a time and give the time to each piece, which is needed in order for that experience to be fully processed, integrated and then naturally discharged, at which point, the body's state of being will return to "ready mode".
      I am a trauma therapist and have resolved a great deal of trauma in my own life.

      Hare Krsna !
      Hare Krsna people fast at least 2 days a month, and often 16 hours a day no problem.
      The spiritual festivals are designated fasting days, and that includes birthdays of saints and sages. It seems unusual in one sense, but that sacrifice helps us remember the significant blessings, inspirations, teachings by example, and magnanimity of such spiritual personalities. (The day after is actually then marked by feasting! It's not indulging in luxurious food, just healthy, joyful special preparations made with love and devotion.)
      Since we cannot manufacture any ingredients in a factory, but God is providing our sun, water, earth and so forth to create our foodstuffs, we kindly pray and make Him our beneficiary. After The Lord accepts, we take our meals.
      In the olden days this word "cult" was bandied about, but now it is more common to denote it as "culture"!

      @ourclarioncall 3 года назад +12

      @@shadesofyoga8073 we are not connected to God. We are separated from Him because of our sin (transgressions of God laws/the internal knowledge of right and wrong witnesses by our conscience) .When Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and sinned against God disobeying His command not to eat, they were removed from the garden and forbidden to eat from the tree of life.
      That’s why Christ had to die to make a way to reconcile us back to a relationship with God. Jesus made it very clear that no man can come to the Father but by Him , HE is the way the truth and the life. God loves us even in our sin but we must come to Him His way by receiving His free gift. We can’t earn it . We can’t work for it. We just have to accept Christ’s finished work on the cross for us then allow God to come into us and change us from the inside out.

      @G L don’t. Pure plant based is definitely not healthier. Plant based dominant seems find. You need a certain amount of fat for tons of things if you want ideal health. Cholesterol for one is a building block of testosterone. Your brain needs a solid amount of fat, especially omega 3’s. You don’t get complete proteins without some kind of dairy, meat or eggs. When I became Catholic I learned about fasting on Wednesdays and Fridays then during Lent we fast for 40 days. Some people fast by just eating soup and bread, others just water. Whenever we have a hunger pang we are to think of Jesus and what he gave up for us. I can't say that I've always followed it, but when I do I don't find it very hard and my spiritual life really grows

I tried the vegan whole food plantbased diet, but it didn't work for me to eat vegan. But I limit my intake of meat, fish and eggs and leave away dairy completely. A healthy wholefoods vegan diet destroyed my health and gut. After 18 years I nearly died from a sodium potassium deficiency through UC and diverticulitis. I looked into my ancestors diet and then I used fasting, bone broth and adding good various salts back in and once eating again, a grass fed animal foods, high in fat and low in carbs approach healed my gut. Sustains my health. So not all people are adapted to veganism. I left the vegan lifestyle and got death threats and hate from people I'd known. Veganism is not the be all end all answer.

    24 days! My first water fast was 7 days after reading about it online. I suffered from fibromyalgia with miserable pain, at day four I awoke to the feeling I was levitating in my bed, just floating PAIN free! I was like OMG if this is possible I will never eat again! At day 7 I broke the water fast due to fear from stories about how unsafe it was reported to be.... As I started to eat the pain came back with a vengence some few years later I discover the watercure ( The Body's Many Cries for Water: by Dr F. Batmanghelidj M.D) and I discovered that my 30 year fasting from SALT had brought me this pain as well as dementia! Pain and confusion turned around in short order after adding salt back to my diet! (per the formula). So if you eat you NEED salt... but not excesses and also the more water you drink the more you need salt. Just sayin.... LOVE for Dr Batman. RIP

    I have tried just about every diet under the sun. The healthiest I’ve ever been/felt was when I was not consuming meat, dairy, wheat, sugar, salt, etc. It was also the most difficult way to live if you have a social life at all because NOBODY understood depriving yourself of these things. It really limits your interactions with people. Family gatherings, get togethers with friends, and even work related events. It was a constant battle to try and defend my lifestyle and I eventually gave in. I will say, I felt more satisfied and had less cravings when I removed all of those things from my diet. I’ve now settled back into the S.A.D. way of eating and I’m overweight/obese, have high blood pressure, trouble sleeping, reliant on caffeine for energy, and the list goes on. I’m seriously considering getting back to a veggie/whole food based diet.

    I just decided to do a 40 day fast and I'm at day 2. I've been doing some research and I saw this video. I really appreciate the information. I'm excited for the journey and the results. I'm not I'll or have any physical ailments. I'm doing this most for my spiritual strength. I'm seeking to develop more courage, mental fortitude or resilience to push through the challenges I'm faced with. Just need of mediocre results really. Really appreciate the depth of this interview.

    Dr. Goldhamer has helped me change my life. I’m 37 years old, adopted a vegan SOS diet since October 2021, I am now on my third day of a 30 day fast. It took me six months to illuminate coconut oil, and fractionated salts (from vegan salad dressings). He brought forth the data points that allowed me to take the initiative. When I become a millionaire again, I will thank him in a substantial manner.

    Since watching dr. Alan on Rich Roll about 3 months ago I lost 24 pounds on intermittent Fasting, my husband lost 20 pounds and his high blood pressure is now stabilized. I was already plant based but we cut down on oils salt and sugar a lot. It’s hard at first, but you get used to it, just increase herbs seasoning and spices and the foods taste amazing, you can actually taste each vegetable, grain and beans in you plate instead of just a bunch of salt! This week we did our first 72h fasting and it was tough, first day is brutal, second day you don’t even feel hungry anymore, third day I was feeling very weak.. but definitely will be doing it again soon, my skin definitely feels like baby skin!

    It takes about 45-50 days to replace your immune system entirely, which is called "therapeutic fast". They had this figured out in the 1950:s, but then came modern medicine and swept away much old knowledge... Remark: During fast your cells goes into repair mode", which is what keeps us healthy.

      @@nauresatto6964 I've noticed from the Old testament (yeah, I know, some people think it's fairy tales) how the Israelites, when attacked and fighting back, go decide to go for days without food, chasing their fleeing enemies. In those days you could not expect to eat every day, three or more times a day like we do today, which means they could easily switch to ketosis (burning body fat instead of glucose).
