YOU LIKED THEM? I'm surprised by every positive comment about the drone shots cause I had so many issues with the drone that it severely limited what I could do with it. But thank you :)

I don't know if it helps now but the reception issues of the drone could be because of the mobile phone signals all around in Vienna. There are quite a few companies with different broadcasting frequencies there and Vienna has a hugly developed area for 2G, 3G and 4G. You might want to check the frequency on your drone with these.
Also, at 6:25 , that should be the 'river' Vienna (Wien-Fluss, yes, it has the same name as the city) which, in fact, ends into the Danube, as you guessed correctly.
Evan your vlogs are honestly the most natural and undramatized (is that a word..?) yet entertaining ones I've ever watched! And you always make me wonder why don't travel more often.. anyway, great video♥︎

Those drone shots are amazing
"Raum" means something like "space" whereas "zimmer" means "room". When in palaces like this one with very big rooms you refer to them as "raum" rather than "zimmer" because it's posher and has connotations of a larger space. "Zimmer" is how you would refer to a dining room or bedroom in a normal house :)

The small river in Stadtpark was the Wienfluss, waaay back then there was a wall around the first district and the river helped dividing the city from the rest

Art museums are my favorite. I love walking through them, they're so pretty. Where I live (Portland, Oregon) we have one a few blocks from my house.

ach oh man i lived in vienna between the ages of 1 and 9 and went to kindergarten and primary school there. i miss it so much and i really hope i get to visit it again someday, but these vlogs are bringing back so many memories, thanks evan!!

the shots of the Schönbrunn Schloss gave me flashbacks to when I was 5 because my family went on holiday there and I could remember some of the rooms but didn't know if I had only imagined them or if they were from there. now i know ^^ childhood memories are weird
And the younger you are the weirder the memories.
Zimmer is more like a bedroom, whereas Raum is just a room in general!
but I mean Schlafzimmer exists
I think that must be interchangeable with Zimmer!
Zimmer is like a room in a house / flat, where you live in, whereas a Raum can also be found in a museum. like, a Zimmer is a Raum but a Raum is not a Zimmer haha X
If I tell you the number of "Zimmer" in my flat, I'd only count bedrooms and the livingroom, while when counting the "Räume", the bathroom, hall, store room, etc. would also be included.
It's absolutely hillarious that this is the first post that one sees when scrolling down... and it's precisely the question 90% of folks probably had! ha ha
Vienna is one of my favorite cities in Europe, thanks for reminding me of that :)

That "Small" River is 1. bigger than the Thames....not at that place but when u go like 20 mins u ll see how big it is .^^. 2. The name of the river is "Donau".

It's pronounced something like koonst historishes, really one of the nicest art museums in Vienna, with the Belvedere coming in a close second. That's cute how the girls follow you around like groupies.
Don't know if you've seen or heard of a movie called Before Sunrise, Evan, but hearing that music in Vienna at 4:54 was thrilling!

Shoot a Schoenberg concert that's a lot to sit through but cool you got to go and hear it. He's a very famous composer.
Zimmer and Raum are synonyms in most cases. Zimmer is usually smaller I think. You can translate room as in space as Raum in some cases but not as Zimmer.

I think Raum refers to a room anywhere (more public, more accessible, that sort of thing) whereas Zimmer refers specifically to a room in a house or a more private room in general? Maybe?

whoa those drone shots are stunning!! i've been to schönbrunn a few times but this is a completely new perspective! (also next time you're in this part of europe, you should stop by bratislava and if you need a guide i can show you around)

So in general, you use Zimmer for a Raum you live in. A big storage hall would be a Raum, but not really a Zimmer. When buying or renting a flat/house, living room, bedroom and kitchen count as Zimmer, whereas bathroom or cellar don't.
I'd love to go to Vienna! Mainly because of the Spanish riding school 🙈

3:37 All around the park signs that say don't go into the grass are placed, so you don't ruin the park. There are even employees riding around the park telling people to get out of the grass. You can consider yourself lucky that you didn't get caught.

I'm kinda surprised that you've never heard of Schubert, he's one of the great Viennese composers, much influenced by Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven and Zumsteeg. He's buried in Vienna right next to Beethoven, Brahms and Johann Strauss Jr.
Evan I love your travel vlogs! How do you decide what to do/go see etc. in the places you visit!? I just graduated college and hope/plan to start traveling soon in my free time from work! A huge obstacle for me is the overwhelming challenge of making sure to see and experience everything in the places I want to go!
You don't have to see everything. Select a number of things you would enjoy being intimate with and enjoy those. Remember if you really like it you can always go back.
I ask viewers and I use tripadvisor!
When I saw you were at a place called the Arnold Schoenberg center, it became clear you were probably not about to see some traditional classical music LOL

Little musician rant here - I hate music like that, and I can't understand why anyone bothers with it haha. Also Schubert is one of my favourite composers! I'd love to go to Vienna, not least because it's such an influential centre for music. All the architecture looks beautiful too :)

Why did you leave Germany and where are you now.
I'm German-American, so we live in the US. My dad moved because he wanted to study a subfield of computer programming that they didn't offer at his university, so he came here. The US is nice, but I really miss Germany, so I want to go there for college. :)

Just a quick headsup, its really illegal to fly a drone there, whole vienna is a noflyzone actually, so be careful. Its not really enforced a lot yet, but if you get a lawsuit you might be in some trouble.
