Borobudur and Prambanan Temple - is it worth Visiting?
The goal of the trip is about cultural immersion, and what a better way to immerse ourselves by learning its History and visiting their temples.. and i can tell you that Yogyakarta is so rich with their history, their temples kinda reminds me of those ive visited before in Cambodia like Angkor Wat.. so consider this in your next Trip.
Sunrise Tour:
If given the choice ill suggest you start the tour by witnessing the sunrise. We were not able to do so, becoz of some changes in our itinerary and apprehensions i received from friends waking up too early! Hahahha (Context: call time is 3:30am.lol)
But yeah, i’ll still suggest to start very early, coz the visit there can be very very hot if you do it at a later time (just like what we experienced).. anyway its still a very good and fun experience amidst the scorching heat of the sun!
Do note that before the pandemic they allowed visitors to climb up the top or Borobudur temple to witness the sunrise, but now they dont allow it anymore so the next option is to witness the sunrise with view of Borobudur at Setumbu Hill. (See klook link in the comment section).
After our Borobudur Temple tour we visited the next Temple in Indonesia which is Prambanan, its a 1.5hr drive from Borobudur so we took our lunch first along the way.
I personally find this temple more interesting and beautiful becoz of the details and intricacies of the carvings on the walls, also we had our tour guide exclusively for our group, thus we kinda ask him a lot about the history etc (we’ll i actually take more photos than listen.lol 😅) (Tour guide fee is 150,000 idr)
It was a good visit and I would suggest that you include this in your itinerary as well.

Best Hour: Early morning and sunset hours
