I was just in Borobudur last February 2020 literally right before the world lockdown. I started my adventure in Jakarta, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Labuanbajo Komodo, Lombok and Bali. Thank you for bringing back lots of memories. I highly suggest Labuanbajo next with a tour to the Komodo islands and one of the only pink sand beaches in world near Padar island.
Oh yeah, i have list vacation in Indonesia besides Bali, Yogyakarta, Labuan bajo. You please go to lake toba, Derawan Island, Sumba Island and Wakatobi.
Love this! The first thing I ever learned about Indonesia was not Bali, but actually the Buddhist temple in an art history class. I've always wanted to see it!
I have been up Borobudur and Prambanan 4 times. I prefer the Prambanan as it is less crowded and the small candis to the north are very cool. I recommend travel throughout Java by train, it is very efficient and you see so much. Also check out Jakarta - many people miss it but definitely worth it.
@@LisaAndJosh Exciting place to visit August is the best month weather is cooler and more festivities/.a month long. Indonesian independence celebration thru out the city
Jogja is one of best tourist destinations in Indonesia. its where javanese culture meets the dynamism of young people all from across Indonesia. you can also find beautiful beaches there.
You narrated it beautifully with thoughtful diction, I’m sorry for what happened it was indeed a bummer, as Indonesian myself I thanked you guys for showing that our country is not only Bali ❤️
I have been to Indonesia twice having been to Jakarta, Bali, Lombok, Flores Island and Komodo Island but I didn't like Bali much but loved Lombok but I always wanted to see Yogyakarta and Surabaya as well as parts of Sumatra and Sulawesi
Bytheway... Jogyakarta and surabaya is not part of sumatra and sulawesi. That cities in java island. Jogyakarta in central java and surabaya in east java
In !976, My Father and I visited the Sultan's 'kraton ' (palace) where we listened to ethereal Gamelan Music from the" kraton ngayogyakarta handiningrat" ensemble outdoors. The exquisite sounds stayed in my Soul, still!!!❤
Your vid reminded me of my time in Indonesia. The second temple is HUGH but very well preserved. You're very respect of the rules in every country you visit. 👏 I admire that greatly. Also love how you told the story in this vid and all your thoughts.
Why do I love Indonesia? Every information I describe has data, statistics and documents that have been recorded internationally. I'm talking about 100% nature in Indonesia, not 1 city or 1 island. Let's dive deeper, then you will know the real Indonesia. You know? Mother Nature in this country is the mastermind behind major natural disasters that can hit many countries and cause many fatalities, not just 1 or 100 times, but more than that. One Example : Tsunami 2004 (Boxing Day) start from Indonesia (Aceh Sumatera) impact 20 countries (To Africa). When I was a teenager, at the high school level I always studied and read books about nature in a library located in Europe. I found a book that said : >Tambora A Killer From Indonesia. >Krakatoa The Day The World Exploded. Both of these books tell about nature and its brutality at the same time. Not only that, in the book it is explained that the incident is located in 1 country but in different regions. Was it the only tragedy that was written by the International? No, there is a lot of history of major natural disasters in Indonesia that are written internationally. Without many people realizing that nature in Indonesia is also very cruel, often raging, abnormal and brutal. Total natural disasters in Indonesia (8 Years Calculation) : >Year 2022 = 1.421 (Period Jan - Jun). >Year 2021 = 3,058 >Year 2020 = 2,925 >Year 2019 = 9,375 (Super insane). >Year 2018 = 3,397 >Year 2017 = 2,341 >Year 2016 = 2,342 >Year 2015 = 1,682 Total natural disasters for 8 years = 26.541 I became very interested in the history recorded by the International and finally I bought a textbook on natural disasters in Indonesia written by European researchers, scientists and historians. It turned out to be much more amazing, that's when I fell in love with nature in Indonesia. This is not only about beauty but also about history which has a huge impact on many countries in the world. Nature in Indonesia is not only beautiful, but also very unique, different, diverse, strange and great. But on the other hand it is also deadly, brutal, often occurs, many casualties and is written in European history. If you know all the volcanoes, rivers, lakes, caves, waterfalls, beaches, mountains, rice fields, forests, wastelands and others in Indonesia (Nature), the nature is very insane. For me personally, a visit to Indonesia is the most memorable for me because I have visited 51 natural tourist attractions. List of natural tourist attractions in Indonesia that I have visited. 1). Krakatoa. (My favorite volcanoes). 2). Tambora. 3). Aceh Museum Tsunami 2004. 4). Weh Island. 5). Lematang Lampung. 6). Ranau. 7). Anyer. 8). Ujung Kulon. 9). Lancang Island Jakarta. 10). Banda Neira Maluku. 40). Lakey Beach. 41). Puncak Bogor. 43). Mangku Kodek. 42). And Others (Up to 51 natural attractions, because I forgot the names). Indonesia is a complete and very diverse tour package in large quantities. Even on trains, buses, airplanes, and ships, you can see different views from one country. It's really crazy, like going to another country but still in the same country. Imagine in 1 city and even then there are many tourist attractions. What about Indonesia as a whole? Millions of tourist attractions. Therefore, many people misunderstand tourism in Indonesia because it is too much and varied. Then you will find something unique and strange, at least go on 30 different trips to tourist attractions in Indonesia and I am sure you will have a much more extraordinary experience. List of places I want to visit in 2024 in Indonesia : 1). Mature Kaladan. 2). Kikik Waterfall. 3). Haratai Loksado Waterfall. 4). Liang Tapah. 5). Kakaban Island. 6). Gitgit Waterfall. 7). Canggu. 8). Nusa Dua. 9). Batu Lawang. 10). Setu Patok. 11). Setu Sedong. 12). Mangroves Jakarta. 13). Mangroves Bengkulu. 14). Bukit Kaba. 15). Way Hawang Bengkulu. 16). Waisia Waterfall. 17). Honje Banten. (And the remaining 109 natural attractions I have not applied, because I am still looking for information on which tourist attractions I will visit in 2024). You can check the photos of the places I mentioned on Google, the natural attractions in Indonesia are crazy. Did you know if we look at the map of the Indonesia territory, it's like a person / Jinn who sleeps on his back. Sumatra : Feet. Kalimantan : Stomach. Jawa, Bali, Nusa Tenggara : Spine. Sulawesi : Bosom. Maluku : Neck. Papua : Head. Other small islands : Acne. Not only that, Indonesia has more than 500 volcanoes = Active, inactive and underwater. Nature in Indonesia is really insane very different class categories, there is a saying that says : (Indonesia is the throne Queen Mother Nature). There is even a study that has visited 400 tourist attractions in Indonesia and it is only 10% for him. From Sabang Sumatera to Merauke Papua (in 1 country) is expensive and long distance. It costs the same as you flying from Egypt to Dubai or Jakarta to South Korea or Spain to Belarus. Indonesia was originally not an archipelago but a mainland called SUNDALAND (Western side of Indonesia) and SAHULLAND (Eastern side of Indonesia). However, 70% of the land was sunk into the ocean. The territory of Indonesia is 60% sea, 30% (Forests, Volcanoes, Caves, Waterfalls, Rivers, Lakes, Mountains, Forests, Deserts, Cliffs and Canyons) and 10% Man-made. The total area of Indonesia is 8.5 million km² (Including land, sea and EEZ). The coastline of Indonesia is more than 98.000 km². In fact, in Indonesia, a lot tourist attractions (100% overall) is more than 4.800.000 - 6.100.000 (This is a total of the craziest nature in the world, that's why Indonesia has been named the MOST BEAUTIFUL NATURE IN THE WORLD AND ALSO THE MOST BRUTAL) Imagine how crazy nature is in Indonesia that is not Humanity can fully explain it. Imagine that from the past until now, nature in Indonesia has been studied by many countries. Therefore, Indonesia is called prehistoric land by the International. In one country, there are things that are different, varied, many strange and whatever. Indonesia is HEAVEN and HELL which collide with each other simultaneously, has 2 different sides. Traveling to Indonesia is not just about a relaxing and exciting travel experience, it is much deeper and more than that. You can even feel disappointed, emotional, confused, sad, tired, give up, smile, laugh, afraid, goosebumps, satisfied and others at the same time. The number of victims of natural disasters in Indonesia in 1 year : >(2022) is 1.4 million people. >(2021) is 8.4 million people. >(2020) is 945 people. >(2019) is 3.721 people. >(2018) is 10.32 million people. >(2017) is 52.930 people. >(2016) is 6 million people. >(2015) is 22.773 people. Total victims of natural disasters in Indonesia for 7 years = 25.200.369 (The power of nature in Indonesia is really no joke, even to the point of having an impact on other countries). Another informations : >Dutch band Within Temptation made the title song "Mother Earth" which describes nature in Indonesia. Even Sharon Den Adel, vocalist of Within Temptation, has lived in Bali Indonesia since childhood. >Groove Coverage from Germany has a song called "Indonesia" and "When Love Lives In Heaven" (These 2 songs are related). Some think that the female singer of Groove Coverage likes nature in Indonesia, you can see who the female singer of Groove Coverage is by typing "God Is A Girl". Of all the names of countries in the world, Groove Coverage chose the name "Indonesia" to be the title of a song (Album : 21st Century). >Maria Amanda/Sabrina Nielsen, a Gothic Europe model (Denmark), has visited several places in Indonesia (Bali and Yogyakarta) and wrote an extraordinary assessment on Instagram. >The name Indonesia is taken from a word in Ancient Greek and is related to the history of Ancient Greek mythology. The Indonesian name is referred to as "GAIA". >Celine Dion from Canada has a song inspired by the music "Keroncong Indonesia" entitled "To Love You More" and in 2018 came to Indonesia. >A rock band called Fransoa from France made a song called "Aku Masih Lapar" in Indonesian languages, the lyrics mention the names of Indonesian food. >The European Gothic genre band "Xandria" from Germany made a video in Indonesia in 2015. >The title songs from Europe, namely "Straitjackets And Wards" and "Eternal Waking" became the soundtrack of a horror game from Indonesia called "Pulang Insanity". >And others. I highly recommend to Indonesia. 109 + 51 = 160 tourist attractions in Indonesia (That's only 3%).
Thank you so much for your explanation sir, i'm Indonesian & not much know about my country better than you. I hope 2024 you can comeback to Indonesia, Wonderland country in the world.
Indeed... Even i as local Indonesian still amaze sometimes.. If u said Indonesia is Queen mother nature, i agree 💯 percent! Maybe, Indonesia is the lost Atlantic as Plato said.. I'm as the researcher, who attracted to how the land are so fertile, i think Indonesia has the most complete and complex indigenous bacteria in the world.. a lot better than terra preta in amazon.. Another thing is about the culture that related to nature. If you want to try to learn about various of local culture, you will found "extraordinary" things. The philosophy, "the another dimension", strange nature anomaly, etc. It's sounds pseudoscience, but that's the reality. There too much words to describe about my lovely county. And it's made me awake in the bedtime coz in my mind keep busy keep thinking of "who we are in past time", "who are our predecessor that has capabilities to struggle live in a land of heaven and hell", "what kind of creature than ever lived in this land", etc. Btw, nice to read your wonderful opinions. Warm hug from Indonesia 🙏🏿
the last time I went to Jogja was 2019, just a month before the pandemic started. FYI, Borobudur often closed whenever the volcano, Merapi, acting out. because the volcano is in close proximity with Borobudur and in the past, it was buried under volcanic ash from the same volcano's past eruption, the management usually not allowing tourist to go up to the top of the temple after an eruption (which was very frequent but it mostly its just spewing ash). if you see the top of the temple is covered with tarp, it's to protect it from the ash. and usually it's closed until cleaning. I think when you came here, they were cleaning the temple from volcanic ash that's why you werent allowed go up. You can also visit Mendut next time, Mendut is another Buddhist temple near Borobudur and I think it's built at the same era as Borobudur. June to September are the best time to visit Java ( from Jogja to Ijen, you can do it in one trip for a week minimum) or any other tourism spots in Indonesia as during those months, Indonesia is in the middle of Dry Season so you wont get stuck in a rain so much.
I have been in Prambanan temple and when i stand at the center of the temples, i feel the place was so majestic, mystical, and also there are kind of unexplainable strange feelings.
Hello Lisa and Josh. I'm from Central Java, Indonesia. I have been to YIA Airport many times. Fyi, the reason why the announcements there are non-stop all the time is because they use 3 different languages in each announcement, namely Javanese, Indonesian, and English. In Yogyakarta, the local use Javanese language so yeah. Enjoy
Wow, you guys got so much rain! We were told that a lot too, in Yogya - that we were the first tourists in 2-3 years. It's too bad because that city is soooo pretty. Loved the commentary. ❤️😊
I salute you, many other tourists only know Bali and some don't even know that Bali is part of Indonesia. Even though Indonesia is bigger than Bali and there are so many things you can visit in Indonesia, such as Komodo Island, Labuhan Bajo, Raja Ampat, Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, etc. I like your video, so I'll give it a Like 🥰
And even thru the pouring rain , their radiance , their positivity shines thru and lifted up the ambience , their outlook towards everything totally awesome ,
So glad you've discovered another of Indonesia's islands. I am married to an Indonesian and have fallen in love with the many destinations. You must try getting to Lake Toba and exploring Sumatra. Whilst up there go across to Bintan and Batam islands.
Thx for sharing More than just bali. u will need to spend a life time to travel and discover Indonesia. Try to look these up, Bunaken if u like to dive, Mentawai for incredible surfing spots, Toraja, and Raja Ampat for stunning islands hopping and snorkling and many more. 😊
@@LisaAndJosh Komodo National Park in Flores is one of the most beautiful place for hiking, snorkeling and diving. It just one hour flight from Bali and has beautiful beaches and the only one Komodo Dragon
@@LisaAndJosh Komodo National Park is one of the destinations that should not be missed when visiting Indonesia. You will feel the sensation of meeting a very rare animal, namely the Komodo Dragon which only exists in one place in the world! Amazing place, as if you are in the world of Jurassic Park! In addition, the underwater charm is extraordinary. If you are lucky, you can swim with Turtles and Manta Fish there. Also don't forget about Pink Beach, a beach with pink sand that you probably won't find anywhere else in the world! Immediately contact your trusted travel agent to be able to visit these places. Usually people will use a special boat to get there, and they will stay on the boat for approximately 4 days 3 nights which of course will be accompanied by an unforgettable travel experience to those places! All the places, it just really looks unreal!
@@LisaAndJosh please brother Josh and sister Lisa next trip to vacation place in Indonesia. Like Jakarta, Lombok (West Nusa Tenggara), Flores (East Nusa Tenggara), Yogyakarta, Bunaken (North Celebes), raja ampat (West New Guinea), Wakatobi (South East Celebes), Mentawai ( West Sumatera) lake toba ( North Sumatera) and many more. Indonesia have many hidden places like paradise.
Jogjakarta is also known as a student's city, jogja houses one of the best university in indonesia, which is gadjah mada university, and it is one of the easiest place for students to live in. If you're planning to go visit other places in indonesia that are not often visited by tourist,it's best to learn indonesian because you might not be able to communicate otherwise. FYI,another temple that is famous in indonesia is candi muara takus,it's built by the srivijaya empire about 1000 years ago,it's located in kampar, riau province, which is on sumatra island.
The people that you saw in Borobudur were Puteri Indonesia which is pageant winners in Indonesia, they took a film for opening show for this year competition which was officially from the government. They were also the Ambassador for Indonesia's Tourism. That's why they were allowed to enter the Borobudur.
I recommend you to visit Bandung, where the city is famous for its creative arts and fashion city for Indonesia, surrounded by mountains making the weather quite cool .... hope you see my comments and consider visiting Bandung
Sad that the first temple was closed. I feel like making RUclips videos would add an extra dimension to adventures. I enjoy your videos but would love to see more of your interactions with the locals. Maybe ask them about the history, etc. Stay safe and have fun.
This is the first time I enjoyed watching travel vlog about Indonesia out of so many travel vloggers on youtube, Indonesia are more than just Bali and Yogyakarta, 3 days in Yogyakarta wasn't enough to explore what Java can offer. See you again in other part of Indonesia, you will have the most "travelgasm" of your life. LOL
Glad you try the salak pondoh. 😃😃😃 Thanks for visiting my hometown. My husband and I watched this video with huge smile as we miss our hometown so much. I think you travel during ramadhan, so many people fasting and not travel, which was good. Because after eid mubarak, all places were packed. Your timing was great. Borobudur and Prambanan looked so dreamy.
thank you for sharing your hometown with us :) yes! we are glad we came when we did, it was so special. and had to pick up some salad pondoh--I miss it!
Actually climbing up to Borobudur is now limited because of conservation matter. The stones erode by nature and people walking on it adding to the erotion. So they have to do it to preserve the temple structure
Hello Lisa and Josh, Good call by Lisa to visit Java. It's great to relive the memories. GWK was a quarry when I 1st saw it. Borobadur was in an open field. Prambinam restoration wasn't so far advanced. Such a shame you couldn't climb the temple. Thankyou so much for this video
There are so many holidays in Indonesia, each region has different cultures, customs and foods Jakarta has a thousand islands. Yogyakarta has Prambanan temples and Borobudur temples, NTT there is a komodo island, Papua has Raja Ampat If you go to Riau or the Riau Islands near Singapore and the regional language is Malay, like Malaysia and Singapore Borneo has an animal called the orangutan, Bunaken, Karimunjawa, Wakatobi, Toraja,
Crazy to see the growth of your channel over the past few months. Not just views but also subs. Been subbed since 5k. Love the videos guys, keep up the good work!
I'm from East Java, I''ve been in Jogja for couple times, but..... There's something make me wanna back there to enjoy environment, ppl, culture, idk... Just love it being there. Btw, thanks guys for visiting 🤗🤗
indonesia is arguably the richest country in natural things , diverse in culture, diverse in people , religion , landscape , animal species , underwater life ,islands , diverse in food , can u imagine 17500++ islands with diferent culture and languages... i'm not exagerating there is no country like indonesia . megadiverse country in the world , indonesia have everything ...but unfortunately the rest of the world still didnt know what is Indonesia... thanks for sharing.
@@davidivory3234 fields what ? language? culture? underwater life? the only nation can beat natural things is brazil because they have amazon . china , america , and canada only have big size.
Dont miss all beautiful beaches in Gunungkidul which can be reach in 1 hour from Jogja using a car rental, everything is so special and amazing .I just had vacation there at South Shore beach cafe and other beach cafes ....so wonderful!
So sorrry Lisa :( That's the worst!! It's so much different to experience the top of the temple in person! And holy crap you can tell from your footage how big the second temple is holy crap! I would walk miles in the rain to see that!
Quality vlog. Thanks guys. Pleased to see the family is having a great time. Disappointed for you all, especially Lisa not being able to go to the top of that first temple/monument. You guys had enough disappointments here in Oz. Even a rainy day there I feel for you all. You really deserve everything to go well for you . Take care all :)
Doing a little research and to see what's the latest updates from Yogyakarta and you guys popped up..... Yeah, one of the bucket list of places that I was planning to visit until COVID-19 came into the picture.... And yes, Borobudur & Prambanan is the agenda.. coz i have seen Angkor Wat n Cambodia so these 2 places are a must visit for me.... Pretty quiet... probably as you mentioned.... The month of Ramadan...What a bummer in Borobudur..... and a heck of experience..... but no way ,the rain is going to dampen your spirits..... Thanks for sharing this.... Stay safe out there..
Hey JT, thanks for watching! yes, it was such an interesting and special time to visit, during the month of Ramadan. We hope to get back to Indonesia soon--there's so much to see! even in the rain :)
Welcome to my hometown, my house is just 500 meters from Sultan Palace. Actually you should visit Ratu Boko temple in the top of hill, and traveling around so many beautiful beaches in Gunungkidul. Yes, of you have enough time and resource you must travel around Indonesia from Aceh to Papua. My country (sure because I am Indonesian) is a superpower in cultural and natural diversity. You should visit lake Toba, lake Kelimutu, mount Tengger, Raja Ampat, Toraja, Manado Sumba, Borneo and many others wonders of Indonesia! Thank you!
I recommend : Java islands: - Dieng - Tumpak sewu waterfall - Ijen crater - Mount bromo - pacitan - Geopark ciletuh - Grand canyon pangandaran - White crater - Tangkuban perahu Jakarta ( Indonesia capital city )
Ilove that you travel not just to sightseeing but also willing to learn about the culture of our country.... I wish you and your parents well and healthy always... and able to travel more island and cities in Indonesia
03:07 on your right side, the white complex building is one of the 6 Indonesia Presidential Palace. and it's still used until this time, usually when the president was in the Jogja.
(English) hey, its beautiful, looking at the temple when it rains. more beautiful than usual, that's also my favorite moment, visiting the temple when it rains, seeing the very beautiful nature when it rains. (Bahasa Indonesia) hei, indahnya, melihat candi saat hujan. lebih indah dari biasanya, itu juga momen favoritku, mengunjungi candi saat hujan, melihat alam yang sangat indah saat hujan.
Nice vlog you guys! You should travel to the whole Indonesia Go to : Raja Ampat , Komoso Island Tana Toraja The whole Java. ( to much to share) Sumatra and manyyyy more
Thank you so much for visiting Indonesia. Thank you for exploring our history, tradition, culture, food and people it self in variety places especially out of Bali Island 😂. Hope you enjoy the wonderful of Indonesia ❤️.
Really really sorry to hear that u can’t climbing up to Borobudur, they shouldn’t even charge you guys full price, hopefully you get the chance to come again next time and fully open.. thank you for showing this beautiful city to the world and yes bali is just small spot in indonesia .always nice to see different perspective from different people about this city
I do really love every videos that you made because it's delivered so well and the narration easy to accept by us thank you for the lovely videos especially your experiences in Indonesia. Hope you can explore another beautiful places in our country. God bless you
Thanks for visiting Our Country Indonesia specially Bali and Jogyakarta. There is a lot more Island with different atmosphere , Culture and many more. Wonderful Indonesia
Oh Lisa, I’m really sorry that you couldn’t see more of Borobudur. And even for Prambanan, pre-Covid visitors could go up and see the statues of the main deities, their shaktis (wives), and their vahanas (vehicles). But please don’t let that deter you guys from exploring more of Indonesia. Cheers from South Kalimantan in Indonesian Borneo!
Most tourists go to Borobudur and Prambanan. But somehow my fave is Candi Ratu Boko, which actually closer to the city. Better go there for sunset tho..
I always amazed with Prambanan tempel. How the people made it? How group of people curves all the stones with the same size? Do they have an architect back then to make the temple model and some how shared the design to all the worker.. I don't get it 😅
10:09 The reason why Borobudur was closed is not only because of pandemic, but also because UNESCO has sent their concerns about Borobudur, and you can see some spots is under repair. UNESCO sent their concerns about some broken parts because inappropriate actions (like jumping from one statue to another statues, hanging on statue, etc.) by "some" local and foreign visitor just in order to get better angle for their own social media. Those inappropriate actions from "some" visitors that already spreads in many social media also considered as disrespecting the Buddhists around the world. Repairing Borobudur indeed need lot of money, rare expertise artist, high accuracy, and lot of time. But still, repairing will give consequences that some parts that will be repair/replaced will not original anymore. So, two weeks ago Indonesian Tourism Official announced that Borobudur ticket will be raised to 750k IDR for local tourist, and 100 USD for foreigners. However it was later cancelled about one week ago because of many public objections ("too expensive") on social media. Since the ticket raise was canceled, the Indonesian government still on progress with UNESCO to solve the future fate of Borobudur. Sorry for the inconveniences, I hope you understand. Thank you for visiting Borobudur. 🙏
Thanks Lisa and Josh for dressing appropriately in Indonesia by wearing tops that cover your shoulders (like all the indonesians do). It is an absolute No-Go in Indonesia to walk around with bare shoulders, but unfortunately not many tourists are aware of this. By their choice of clothes, though unintentionally, they show total disrespect and are frowned upon by the locals (although they would never admit it and will still smile at you)
it's like a blend of jog (like morning run) + Jakarta (the current capital city of Indonesia) = Jog+Jakarta... hope it helps! Oh, and one more interesting thing, the adzan, or the prayer calling from the mosque sang the adzan with Javanese style singing instead of the typical Arabic style. It's quite interesting to even for Indonesian. you got a rare moment there!
what a bummer that now visitors aren't allowed to go up the Borobudur temple complex. both the temples and Malioboro street are so deserted compared to my last visit in 2016.
the temporarily closed of Borobudur is actually been up on their official website for long time, it's not only because of Covid but as well for maintenance ( I guessed you hasn't research enough for information ) . But yess the wedding Photos exceptions is definitely RIDICULOUS ! and 'CA'NDI is pronounced 'CHA'NDI like when you said 'Cha'rles 😄
thanks! very helpful! can you share the website? we'll make sure to update our description. (we used this one: borobudurpark.com/en/temple/borobudur-2/ and bought our tickets in person)
That's the correct website and they do wrote down "PELATARAN" without any other clear information and YESS it is CONNED since ain't no way Foreigners understood what's PELATARAN means . if I were you I too will scream loud of my disappointment especially as a Foreigners you paid more for the entry tickets which is ANOTHER CONNED in my view, as an Indonesian I'm never proud of these crazy things of charging Foreigners more money ! and for that reason my humble apologies to you and your families !
Thanks a lot to introduce Indonesia, especially "Jogyakarta". Everything is cheap and peaceful in this city. Jogyakarta also known as Centre of education in Indonesia
lived on java from 1973 to 1975. returned in 1994 and 97. I saw Borobudur when it was falling down. After they took it apart to rebuild it and when the renovation was complete. I truly love Jawa tengah. also. watched the Ramayana outside Prambanan. if you get a chance don't miss it.
Hi Lisa and Josh, thanks for visit Bali & Jogja. But, have you visit labuan badjo in east of bali? (Near Komodo island) I think, some day you have to try it. Maybe you can see vlog of Isabelle & Flo 7 month ago in komodo island. It's so beatiful place with some island around it. Thank you & have a nice trip 👍
good vlog Lisa and josh it looks like you guys prepared material about the content of the video in order to invite your viewers to learn and understand Indonesian culture.. I as a citizen of this country are grateful and grateful to you both.. nice video bro 😊👍
Wow, gorgeous temples. This really reminds me of Angkor Wat temple complex in Cambodia. But this is definitely great that you went there to share these gems with us!
If you like temple , may be you can go to bandungan , there is candi gedong songo, it is took 4 hours from jogja near Semarang.. or if you like other monarchy history, you can go to solo or Surakarta only 2 hours from jogja .. there is another palace and culture that similar to jogja palace but with different king .. Initially, the kingdom in Central Java was one, then it was divided during the dutch colonial period into 2 and further divided into 4
One think every where in Indonesia is so noisy, from prayer too lound speaker, that make me not feel relax as much, and love quiet place and like more in Bali.
Malioboro at night is such a pleasure to be in with so many people around and you can hear street musicians performance. I’m sad to see it kinda empty. I hope you come back one day.

Amazing! We can't wait to come back and explore the country further :)
There's another pink beach in Lombok island.
Don't forget raja ampat islands
Oh yeah, i have list vacation in Indonesia besides Bali, Yogyakarta, Labuan bajo. You please go to lake toba, Derawan Island, Sumba Island and Wakatobi.
Love this! The first thing I ever learned about Indonesia was not Bali, but actually the Buddhist temple in an art history class. I've always wanted to see it!
that's amazing, such a lasting impression, I'm sure :)
Prambanan is not buddhist it us Hindu trinity temple
NAIVE
I guess this is Hindu temple
I have been up Borobudur and Prambanan 4 times. I prefer the Prambanan as it is less crowded and the small candis to the north are very cool.
I recommend travel throughout Java by train, it is very efficient and you see so much.
Also check out Jakarta - many people miss it but definitely worth it.
Just love Jakarta. It is fun to be there. food. traffic and night life
we were sad to miss Jakarta this time--but would love to come back and visit!!

Your vid reminded me of my time in Indonesia. The second temple is HUGH but very well preserved. You're very respect of the rules in every country you visit. 👏 I admire that greatly. Also love how you told the story in this vid and all your thoughts.
Amazing! where did you spend your time in Indonesia? Thanks for always watching and the thoughtful comments :)
I found a book that said :
>Tambora A Killer From Indonesia.
Total natural disasters in Indonesia (8 Years Calculation) :
>Year 2022 = 1.421 (Period Jan - Jun).
>Year 2021 = 3,058
>Year 2020 = 2,925
>Year 2019 = 9,375 (Super insane).
>Year 2018 = 3,397
>Year 2017 = 2,341
>Year 2016 = 2,342
>Year 2015 = 1,682
Total natural disasters for 8 years = 26.541
I became very interested in the history recorded by the International and finally I bought a textbook on natural disasters in Indonesia written by European researchers, scientists and historians.

Nature in Indonesia is really insane very different class categories, there is a saying that says :
(Indonesia is the throne Queen Mother Nature).
The number of victims of natural disasters in Indonesia in 1 year :
>(2022) is 1.4 million people.
>(2021) is 8.4 million people.
>(2020) is 945 people.
>(2019) is 3.721 people.
>(2018) is 10.32 million people.
>(2017) is 52.930 people.
>(2016) is 6 million people.
>(2015) is 22.773 people.
Total victims of natural disasters in Indonesia for 7 years = 25.200.369
(The power of nature in Indonesia is really no joke, even to the point of having an impact on other countries).
Another informations :
>Dutch band Within Temptation made the title song "Mother Earth" which describes nature in Indonesia.
This is wonderful
@@serophineearl847 Yes "Wonderful", but my slogan for Indonesia :
(Indonesia is the throne Queen of all the Queens of Mother Nature).
@@fitriahthoyib1911 Definitely, I'll be back in 2024 and research elsewhere. Because Indonesia is a country that I have loved since childhood.
SOOO CLEAN... THE LOCALS ARE DEFINITELY WELL-DISCIPLINED.
Enjoy
hey Jonathan! thank you for the info! we thought it was great that no one would miss their flight updates!
I'm really glad that you guys are willing to travel outside of Bali really appreciate it,really loving your trips specially along with your parents 👏🤗

Also don't forget about Pink Beach, a beach with pink sand that you probably won't find anywhere else in the world! Immediately contact your trusted travel agent to be able to visit these places.

If u still in indonesia u can explore east java bromo, tumpak sewu waterfalls or bandung west java for architctural building, history, food and nature
East Java looks so beautiful!
Actually climbing up to Borobudur is now limited because of conservation matter. The stones erode by nature and people walking on it adding to the erotion. So they have to do it to preserve the temple structure

Central java indonesia
thank you for watching!
waterfalls in Central Java province quite comparable with Bali province like Curug Telu, which very underrated
The best waterfall in Java is Tumpak Sewu in East Java....but for Central Java, I think the Tawangmangu waterfall
@@intriguingfacts5434 yeah everyone have they personal preference

Thanks for visiting Our Country Indonesia specially Bali and Jogyakarta. There is a lot more Island with different atmosphere , Culture and many more. Wonderful Indonesia
thank you for having us in your wonderful country :)
Cheers from South Kalimantan in Indonesian Borneo!
thank you for watching and for sharing! we can't wait to see more of Indonesia--if anything, this trip makes us want to come back and explore more :)
Most tourists go to Borobudur and Prambanan. But somehow my fave is Candi Ratu Boko, which actually closer to the city. Better go there for sunset tho..
never knew about Candi Ratu Boko! looks beautiful and so unique--will definitely have to visit :)
Wow..! such a great traveling 😊
I always amazed with Prambanan tempel. How the people made it? How group of people curves all the stones with the same size? Do they have an architect back then to make the temple model and some how shared the design to all the worker.. I don't get it 😅
On based story
Prambanan Tample Made in one night only
10:09 The reason why Borobudur was closed is not only because of pandemic, but also because UNESCO has sent their concerns about Borobudur, and you can see some spots is under repair.
woww amazing storytelling, easy to understand.. good videos 🙌 thankyouu😊
thanks so much for saying that and for watching :)
Thanks Lisa and Josh for dressing appropriately in Indonesia by wearing tops that cover your shoulders (like all the indonesians do). It is an absolute No-Go in Indonesia to walk around with bare shoulders, but unfortunately not many tourists are aware of this. By their choice of clothes, though unintentionally, they show total disrespect and are frowned upon by the locals (although they would never admit it and will still smile at you)
thank you for sharing this :)
it's like a blend of jog (like morning run) + Jakarta (the current capital city of Indonesia) = Jog+Jakarta... hope it helps! Oh, and one more interesting thing, the adzan, or the prayer calling from the mosque sang the adzan with Javanese style singing instead of the typical Arabic style. It's quite interesting to even for Indonesian. you got a rare moment there!
thank you for the help and for this interesting fact--we had no idea :)
I already went there at 2018.Such a wonderful place.
what a bummer that now visitors aren't allowed to go up the Borobudur temple complex. both the temples and Malioboro street are so deserted compared to my last visit in 2016.
hopeful that this will change soon, we started to notice more people come in just as we were leaving, so that was good sign :)
Wow, both of you are being in Yogyakarta and surrounding, nice 👍👍👍
So sorry you couldn't climb the borobudur temple. Glad you enjoy Prambanan. Really nice vid. Enjoy your stay ...
the temporarily closed of Borobudur is actually been up on their official website for long time, it's not only because of Covid but as well for maintenance ( I guessed you hasn't research enough for information ) .
@@mixasunardi7379 🙈!! Thanks for letting us know.

lived on java from 1973 to 1975. returned in 1994 and 97. I saw Borobudur when it was falling down. After they took it apart to rebuild it and when the renovation was complete. I truly love Jawa tengah. also. watched the Ramayana outside Prambanan. if you get a chance don't miss it.
hi couple, warm regards from us, who like Indonesia very much.. Anyway haven't you try candi ratu boko?
we were sad to miss this! hope to come back and visit it soon

Hi Lisa and Josh, thanks for visit Bali & Jogja.
But, have you visit labuan badjo in east of bali? (Near Komodo island)
I think, some day you have to try it. Maybe you can see vlog of Isabelle & Flo 7 month ago in komodo island. It's so beatiful place with some island around it.

Wow, gorgeous temples. This really reminds me of Angkor Wat temple complex in Cambodia. But this is definitely great that you went there to share these gems with us!
These temples were build about 300-400 years before Angkor exist.
Borobudur build in 780 Centuries, prambanan in 900 centuries, angkor wat in 1.500 centuries

The temple becoming more beautiful in The Rain,, I Love it ❤️
So true! It was so wonderful, especially in the rain! :)
Initially, the kingdom in Central Java was one, then it was divided during the dutch colonial period into 2 and further divided into 4
thank you for the recommendations! this information is so helpful to us and everyone else visiting Indonesia :)
Walking while raining at prambanan with less people is something 👍👍
One think every where in Indonesia is so noisy, from prayer too lound speaker, that make me not feel relax as much, and love quiet place and like more in Bali.
Malioboro at night is such a pleasure to be in with so many people around and you can hear street musicians performance. I’m sad to see it kinda empty. I hope you come back one day.
Hello Lisa and Josh.We never know, that the greatest Buddha Temple there is ! Thank you that you show us. Very sad that its raining there , but hope you this moment in your heart. Have a nice trip and best wishes from Siri and Uwe
thank you! this is definitely a memory that will last :)
