What up finally getting around to fixing my sim after like 2 years COVID is getting me bored
I know this is an older video but THANKS! I put a "real" steering wheel on my sim rig and was disappointed with the significant reduction in FFB. It turned out the wheel (a Nardi Personal DG-00, which came with a car attached - my classic 911) weighed 2.76 lbs! The NRG lightweight wheel is the same size, has a quality covering, and restored the FFB.
How much is the weight of the nrg one
The NRG wheel is shown in the video as being 1 lb 3.8 oz (about 1.24 lbs or 0.56 Kg).
@@danwalters76 oh thanks, I'm about to buy a normal which weights 1.9lbs (0.86kg) and was thinking if it was worth it (t300 base)

Just got mines had to take the horn out so the screws would screws into the adaptor but overall its a good wheel its lighter then my thrustmaster sparco rally wheel👍
Hi. Seeing how you have some great experience with many NRG wheels... I am struggling to decide between the NRG Lightweight sim wheel and the 350MM 1.5" deep dish wood grain wheel mainly for its smooth rim which I assume is great for drifting as opposed to the leather wrapped Light weight wheel. Do you think the weight difference is a big issue? (I have a Fanatec CSL DD 8Nm wheel base)

the weight of the wheel rim will never add more weight than your hands do when your holding the wheel and preventing it from turning on its own during use. this is why the overall weight of a wheel rim will NEVER put any extra wear and tear on a sim wheel base. that whole argument is silly. however, the extra weight will further supress the FFB effects that you need to feel to drive well. this is why you want light wheel rim. not wear and tear. =]
