A review of the outsole,, midsole, upper and other details
Information about the weight, drop, price and suggestions about the typical use for this particular models will be provided as well.
The shoe is heavier than the Boston 12 and the Adios 8 but still with a good support for the transition.
Will it be the next versatile shoe from Adidas, or the new daily trainer?
Let's check my first impressions!

I saw the Duramo Speed online at a very good price and didn't find many reviews, but fortunately it led me to your channel and your excellent videos. I was particularly impressed that you thought they compared well with the higher priced models. I've run in them twice now for about 20 km and I agree with you. They're very comfortable, they turn over well, and they feel light on my feet. It's the first budget shoe that was actually more cushioned than I was expecting. I know Lightstrike from the Adios 7 but it feels a lot softer here. I'm really enjoying them so far and I can see myself using them for a variety of runs. It's great having them as an option. Many thanks for reviewing these shoes, Stelvio!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting, I'm glad that the video is useful and if it can help to choose the right shoe. I like to review also shoes that are not that expensive but still do their work as it was during the '80s. I believe that the Duramo Speed is a good example of great value for money. It is comfortable and pretty versatile, and also durable.
@@runningwithstelvio Yes, I'm an old-timer who ran his first road 10k in 1978 and I would say that generations of professional runners trained for their entire careers in shoes that weren't as comfortable or protective as the Duramo Speed. Technology and innovation have led to more sophisticated and much more expensive running shoes, but it's nice to see modern materials and design also improving affordable shoes. And really, I don't think our legs care very much about it, as long as we put the work in somehow. Thank you for the reply, Stelvio, and I hope your running is going very well!
just bought this because of your review. thank you good sir
no problem and thank you for watching! I hope you like it!
Great review, as always.
Thank you so much, I appreciate 😊🙏
Sounds like a comfortable and budget shoes for easy run days, thanks for the review, Stelvio!
Hi Thomas, yes for easy runs and it is good value for money, at least for now after the first runs. Thanks for watching! 😊
Yesterday, I retired the Duramo Speed shoes after completing 450kms and ordered a new pair of speed happily...
Well done, I’m glad you like it 👍
@@runningwithstelvio Thanks to your review, Stelvio...
@@omojous9 thank you for the nice feedback, it helps a lot! 😊👍
Thanks, Corriamone. I think they are good considering price here is around 50 euro. I'll use them in my tempo runs speed workouts.
Thank you for watching, yes definitely a good value for money 👍
Sei sempre eccellente nelle tue analisi. Bravissimo
Grazieeee un abbraccio grande 🤗🤗🤗
I just had my breaking of Duramo Speed.
I weigh 70 kg, I lift at the gym Monday Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. While I run on remaining days of the week. I can say that this shoe fits for me. Both comforatable and economic as I regularly run 5km and 10km.
Thanks for the feedback and for watching, many of us in the channel have the same opinion, It looks a pretty good deal! 👍
I didn't even know this existed. It seems related to the RC4 and SL -- something that looks kinda like a Boston but with cheaper materials and simpler construction.
I'm glad I brought something new to you :-) It is like a Boston, but lower to the ground without the rods and LightStrike pro, so less responsive and efficient. But in my opinion so far good value for money
Stelvio - awesome review and love both the tech analysis as well as the aesthetic presentation! Curious if you can share anything about the new Adizero Pro Evo 1? I understand the shoe is sold out, but it's making a lot of waves given the women's marathon world record at Berlin. Thank you!
Thank you so much Reto, I try to collect all the information I have and present some good looking photos as well :-). Yes I have to collect my thoughts about the new Adizero Pro Evo 1... a controversial shoe which already made its success in the last Berlin marathon. Thank you for watching and for your support!
Boston 12 upper is excellent. I run in hot and humid weather and its the best.
I'm running with B12 in these weeks, I hope it will last longer. Yes B12 is more breathable than the Duramo
Thanks for tips, mine pair is over 200km now, all conditions, very very good shoe for that money. But...always is a but...on lateral side of both shoes there is snap or tore in material, but only first layer of mesh...Damage is only directly on little finger area! The second which is structural is just fine..The shoe is in other way great, responsive but comfy. Im am coming from Hoka 10x pair on adidas...They only had to upgrade that mesh (boston 11 and now Duramo)
Thank you for the feedback, I haven't reached yet this mileage, but I notice at the beginning a bit of hard mesh in the internal side, this was only during the first mileages, then disappeared. With the mesh Adidas in the last shoes was not so great, let's see if they will improve. I will do soon my after 100miles review of the Duramo soon, so far for me it was really a great value for money
@@runningwithstelvio Yes, all true, but Hoka in comparision is very durable, on the side that Eva foam was left in time but Hoka still insist on it! Duramo is very responsive but again still comfy while Boston 11 is fast and snapy with the very very bad back side and my achilles tendon is not liking it :)In comparision with my Rincon and Mach 5 faster but with more stress on feet and ach.
I have a 7 km race, do you thins this pair is good. Or what model would you recomend for 55€?
For 10€ more i would rather try to get an Adios 7, which i would use for racing this distance. But of course it depends also from your race pace
I just have a question about the arch support, I have a high arch and need that support
Better to go to the shop and try it out then... for me it was pretty similar than the Boston in this regard
hello, does the fit of duramo speed and boston 12 regarding lenght and width the same? or boston 12 is longer inside heel to toe and the width wider?
Hi, no there are not the same. the Duramo is tight in the forefoot. The B12 leaves more room in the forefoot which is wider. The both have a good heel lockdown, but the B12 in this regard is better
@@runningwithstelvio oh ok ok, what about the length? vs the boston, how far is your toe from the edge or allowance? can you give a comparison on the toe allowance to the edge of the shoe? like half an inch for the duramo and a full inch for the b12?
@@1113gancho 1inch for B12, about 1/2 inch for the Duramo speed
@@runningwithstelvio ahh ok ok that is a big difference, thank you very much for your tips and advice
@@1113gancho thanks for watching!
I've tried it for a 10k run Sir. it's too tight on my 9.5 Eu foot. it's fxing my foot. it's durable though. My foot has a blister on my right side area. but I'll try it again once my foot heals. I still prefer the adizero RC 5
The upper will become softer. It bothered me a little at the beginning too but now it's fine. The RC5 is a great shoe but I use it mainly for fast workouts. The Duramo is my daily trainer instead
Duramo SL é otimo tambem, considero mais custo benefício que o Speed
Ainda não experimentei, mas acho que ainda tem uma excelente relação qualidade / preço
How is shoe's cusion??
Not bad at all, better than I expected
Which one is best duramo speed.......
If you mean the pace, I would say till 4min/km pace it is ok. The best pace in my opinion is around 4'30"/km
Stelvio is this a durable shoe for always running.
It looks like a solid shoe, but I have ran on it only 50km, so I cannot confirm for sure
no wear or tear anywhere? cause I'm about to order it now 😂
@@Munchkinz11 So far (in about 50km) I haven't noticed anything 😅
500km seems New... Very resistance
@@caste405Thanks for the info 👍
Compare to adizero sl which is better
So far, I prefer the Duramo, but I'll upload a video comparison
@@edinsoncreator I'm preparing it. But I already can tell you that I would not use neither the SL nor the Duramo for 3:40/km pace training or faster. I would rather use the Adios 8 or Takumi or RC5 or Pro 3
@@edinsoncreator I see, then in this case I would not suggest to spend the extra money for buying the SL. I would rather go for the Duramo speed, and in the video I'll give you more insights about this suggestion
Can I use this for 21k?
Yes, but for racing I would rather use the Adios Pro
@@runningwithstelvio can you suggest training shoes for longer distance?
@@acquadigymyow7967 the Duramo speed is fine, the Boston 12 as well. The Asics Novablast also, and if you would like to use also for long tempo run I would highly suggest the Evoride from Asics. I hope it helps
Looks like a good shoe for a teenager who is strong and full of testosterone.
😊
tôi có thể dùng nó để chạy HM pace 7(min/km)?
yes indeed! đúng vậy!
@@runningwithstelvio chân của tôi trung bình và dài 25,5 cm. tôi chọn giày cỡ 26,5cm được không?
@@quanquynh6460 Are you using other shoes? For Adida I usually take same size like Asics and on size more than Nike or New Balance.
