Thank you so much for all of your wonderful videos, Jennifer and shedding light on the true pay rate for transcriptionists. I have been a Medical Transcriptionist for over 25 years and have my own clients. It drives me crazy when people advertise the rates as per hour when in fact, it is per audio hour. So many people that want transcription done do not realize that transcriptionists get paid so poorly and far below minimum wage in the US. I love your videos! Keep up the great work.

Great video! I'm so shocked when you showed me how many jobs are available on Rev Captioning & Transcription. I just got into Rev for doing Traditional Chinese subtitles, but the job availability is so low. I'm doing it for almost two weeks now but did only managed to get two jobs. Even though they send you an email notifying you when there's a job available, it is usually gone by the time when I click the link in the email. Honestly, I have a very disappointing experience with Rev right now. So the demands are quite different for different languages & regions, I guess?

I do not for the life of me get anyone that would want to give a thumbs down on your videos. This was great and informative. Have you had any experience with Dictate Express? I believe they stopped taking applications due to the Pandemic but not sure about that?

This was great! I'm looking to break into transcription to earn some extra money. I have an English degree and a typing speed of 60 wpm. This should be great for me, but I want to be as knowledgeable as possible. I'll watch more of your videos. Thanks again!

I don't feel so bad about flunking out of REV now. Glad I found an honest youtube video on this instead of a bunch of hype about 20 dollars an hour etc. I don't know why youtube channels would say that if it isn't so given they don't get anything out of it as far as I can tell.

Hi Jennifer, thank you so much for this video. I actually just thought about getting into a transcription service business, so I really appreciate how thorough the info is here. My only concern is with the availability of speech recognition software these days, the demand of transcriptionists may decrease, although I could be wrong. Do you happen to know at all whether this is the case?

Thanks so much for making this vid. I watched a few vids about making money at home, and transcriptionist for beginners seemed worth the effort. Although my application for REV was denied, I focused on building my typing speed and accuracy should I choose to apply to another site. After this vid, I'll continue to practice my typing, however, not for a transcriptionist position. I practice typing now for the challenge of it. I cracked 50 WPM twice, but I can't stop now till I'm typing at least 70 WPM.
