As a certified medical transcriptionist and a legal transcriptionist (having worked at hospitals and actual law firms), I will say...I don't know what other countries pay transcriptionists, but UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE are her numbers accurate for the U.S.. An audio hour can take up to 4 hours. Therefore, if a company is paying $15 per audio hour and it takes you 4 hours to transcribe the audio (depending upon clarity, accents, etc.), you are earning $3.75 per actual hour.

For some companies, you need a bank account or Payoneer. The companies dictate the mode of payment unfortunately.

Unfortunately, company have their own criteria of accepting applications. I'm sorry about not passing the test

Hi Tess. I would like to know if you were able to apply for the Quicktate and Idictate, because where you're supposed to do the test there is a link you need to go through with instructions and that page doesn't exist. If you were able to get assistance from the company may you kindly assist.

Can someone who does not have a very high level of grammar but who hears English well work as a transcriptionist? However, if we can use an app as a support, which one would you recommend? I just discovered your channel. Thank you
Grammarly people use for corrections, but really, if u dont know how to write properly, i dont think this job is suited for u. U cant depend on an app to correct your work cuz no app is ever 100% accurate
I think it really depends on your level of English. It does not have to be very high. So as long as you understand basic things like spelling and grammar, I think you can give transcription a try.

Hi Tess, Thank you so much, i started watching your videos 3 weeks ago, i immediately went and used my savings to buy a laptop and started applying. I dont know if its desperation but how long do they take to get back to us? I applied at all those companies except for quicktate, i failed at Way with words haha but awaiting feedback from Rev, Go transcript and 3play media. I literally check my emails every minute.
I can't say how long they take exactly but I know most of these companies receive a high volume of applications. So it might take days or weeks. As long as you haven't received a regret email, please be patient. Hoping for the best.
I love tess videos , im from Swaziland and for me its the paypal restriction in my country and also not having the laptop otherwise i would be working by now based on Tess updates , dont loose hope if you have applied one will back with good news if not all✊

There's no test files from Scribie since January. Is everybody facing the same problem? I came to the conclusion that they can't accept new applicants to manage demand and supply.
Since January? My friend got a test a week ago.
You need to activate notifications when they upload files they'll email you
I was having a similar problem. the thing is, the test files are quickly taken. My sugestion for you is: get an auto-clicker, set it to click on the update button on your browser every 30-60 seconds and keep an eye out.
There are...they mostly post at 10.00 AM Kenyan time which is GMT+3...so change that to your time and see...you'll get tests...

You must not use a bank account. You can link it to M-PESA

If you have someone you trust in any of the country that accept payment via Paypal liase with the person to open a PayPal account for you and you get your payment in Nigeria. Hope this helps.

I haven't found one that pays via Mastercard. For Payoneer, I know of Appen, Transcribio, GoTranscript, and a couple of others that I have forgotten.
