I can say that Transcribe Me is not a great choice at the moment. Passed their test, but there is never any work. Doesn't seem to be much at the higher levels either.
Actually, in the last 3 weeks, I have tried to apply to HappyScribe, and even though they said that i had a good score in the exam, but they can't work with more freelancers because all of the positions are filled. So they kept me in the shortlist!
Same with me. I was happy to get their mail telling me that I have been shortlisted. But as I read on, I came to know that they have no vacancy. I can wait for 3 months and if still no response, I am advised to apply again after 3 months
I tried to apply to scribie but can't log in my PayPal account because I don't have a credit card yet but how can I get a credit when I don't even have a job yet lol. I guess I gotta do it the traditional way and get my ass out of the ass house to find jobs.
My wife is currently with Transcriptions For Everyone or TFE. She does not make a lot but she likes the work and they are still hiring I heard at present. Thank you for your informative video. I am testing the waters to see if this can be for me. I had written some books on amazon and know some things about punctuation, sentence structure, etc. It could be what I need in this retirement age.

You mentioned that Happy Scribe looked interesting. I tried this one and doing the test was very confusing. Couldn't figure up the setup. I attempted it and was rejected. I have three years' experience elsewhere and I have a pretty good ear. I have no idea why it was rejected. It was clear audio and I didn't have a problem understanding the speech, but the way it appears on the screen is confusing, so I am going to assume I didn't do something right.
This is a very resourceful and honest video. I’m super grateful for finding it. I’m in Nigeria, and PayPal is not available here, but I have a friend staying in the U.S that I can use his. Please do you know any job platforms accepting worldwide workers that can permit this? Could you also suggest platforms that have alternative methods of payment that are less stringent than PayPal. I know you made this video 6 months ago, but here's my experience so far: I have applied to HappyScribe, Crowdsurf and GoTranscript. I got accepted into HappyScribe in Spanish but they sent me an email saying there were no openings and so I was put into the waiting list. GoTranscript I failed the transcription test in English and I reapplied today in Spanish. We'll see. Crowdsurf I am currently working at in Spanish as well and although it's not a lot of money, I really enjoy transcribing their videos. Will try a couple more in the next few days. I've worked as a legal assistant for most of my life but have been out of the field since December 2019. I thought I'd give this line of work a try, given I've done more than my fair share of transcribing over the years. FYI, I'm typing this on 22 June 2022 and TigerFish is not currently hiring. What I'm hoping to find is a company who will allow me to work both in the United States and for the six months I live in London. I do not know if that will be possible.

I'm late to the party on this one, but I applied with Rev Captions on Thursday, 09-14-22, and got the same "It will take 8-14 weeks to get back to you" message. I figured I wouldn't hear anything from them for at least two months. I didn't check my email all weekend, and when I checked on Monday I had an email from them asking me to complete my profile so I could start working. So, I guess it just depends?

Coincidentally, I was just on the transcribeme site when your video came up. Reading through the style guide was a painful experience, to say the least. We don't edit what is said, except when we do. We omit these words when used in this way, but not these words, even if used in the same way. Etc, etc, etc. So, my understanding is that this is what is meant by "clean" verbatim. Can you tell me which sites, if any, just want you to type exactly what you hear?
I started working on casting words before 2020 but after the pandemic, I don't find any files to transcribe till now I don't know whether they add files for beginners or not.
Babbletype has an applicant video that's over 16 minutes long and contains numerous errors in the closed captions. Scribie's Transcription Guide, Guidelines, and Terms of Service include some typos. Focus Forward Transcription appears to have a few mistakes in its English Transcription Test Instructions.
The irony, a transcription company having transcription errors. I wonder if their employees are the ones who transcribed the video or did they hire another company to transcribe for them.

Every website is different. Some will take 1-2 weeks and others over a month. I think it depends on how busy they are and how many applications they are reviewing at the time.

I would advise you to not waste anymore of your time on TranscriveMe, there are no available jobs really.

Unfortunately, most of the companies follow the same sort of guidelines. Scribie has some "verbatim" files, but it pays lower than other companies.
