Since I started my locs, I didn't stop using the products that my hair loves. Many on YT talk about not using conditioner but I have not stopped, my hair and scalp are very dry. I never saw buildup on my hair before and I would go sometimes two months without shampooing (due to illness) but since I have had my locs, (two months) I shampoo every two weeks. I use the Aussie mousse (quick freeze) to retwist and my locs last (this is one week and only a few have come undone. When I used locing gel, or water and oils only to retwist, they only last a day or two. I make my own Shea Butter recipe with oils, Aleo Vera juice, Rosewater, and a leave-in conditioner, it has done wonders for my dry hair and although many YT disagrees with using it (build-up) I will not stop unless I see build-up and I will continue using a clarifying shampoo, every two weeks to help with build-up. I also mist my hair daily with Aleo Vera juice, oils, Rosewater, and a leave-in conditioner.
Yes all that natural goodness 😍 I haven’t used Shea butter on my locs yet as I was afraid of build up so it’s good to hear someone with locs saying they use it and haven’t experienced build up. Using a clarifying shampoo is certainly key in my opinion. Thank you for sharing !! I’m interested to hear more about the Aussie mousse that use for retwists? I haven’t heard of it before.
I’m loving your videos! I just washed my starter locs for the first time last week and was a little hesitant to use conditioner but I did anyway! 😂🤷🏽♀️ I see so many posts about not using conditioner with locs. So I’m glad to see you talk about that being a part of your regular routine!
