Hey. Any exercise will help with weight loss and toning, but exercise alone won’t promote weight loss if you’re consuming more calories than you’re burning. Pilates is excellent for toning your muscles and of course burns calories. If you want to lose fat, focus on your diet not just exercise. You absolutely must be consuming less calories than you burn. Pilates and yoga are quite similar but I believe Pilates is a little more core focused and more movement. Yoga is more about holding a particular position for much longer. Mix Pilates with some other resistance training such as HIIT workouts for strength with dumbbells and some HIIT with no equipment. That’s a good split.
