- This video was taken by Beverley Hepting when I was the Sergeant at Arms at Casterbridge Speakers. It was the first ever role that I volunteered for at Toastmasters, I think at the start of 2016. Needless to say it was a horrible experience and the video cut out just when I had a complete meltdown and Beverely came up to the stage to help me calm down. You can see the panic in my eyes. Social phobia is not a nice thing to experience. Every time I see this video I get very emotional, remembering what I went through, the years that I endured a lot of missed opportunities. No-one should go through this.
I've been there...and I feel the pain.
I'm still going through it, still going through this nightmare, but still hopeful that one day I'll be a confident person!
thank you for posting this. This helps me to go back and stick with it seeing how you combated your fear even after some really trying times.
it's a pleasure :-)
I know the feeling. Even if you are correct about everything you are talking about, the blushing still comes out and you feel stupid, which makes it even worse. Keep it up sir, thanks for the videos.
face your problem, head on, and turn it into a positive experience. It's a lot of work, hard work, but you'll get there if you don't give up.
You are THE MAN. Sir you got balls I look up to you. Just remember you will overcome this anxiety and fear and you overcoming your fear will help many people like me overcome our fears. You're a hero
The anxiety may be strong, but so is the bravery! (Sorry that sounded less cheesy in my head)
omg literally me today at the class presentation . but it was 10 times worse . thank you for posting this now I know Im not alone
i felt that. i hope you are doing better now :)
You didn’t look nearly as bad as you felt brother. Keep facing that dragon 👊🏻
Fucking good on you for getting up there. I know I couldn’t do it again. Seriously some of the most traumatic times I’ve had in recent months dealing with this constant panic
