- I flew America's Longest Turboprop flight at almost 3 hours long - and was surprised at just how few people were onboard. Thank you to Acer for sponsoring this video and to @GreenerGrass Jeb for showing me around Greensboro!

Horizon and Alaska still use them for their regional hops. I've flown in them from Portland to Seattle a few times I like the turbo prop plane but yeah they are bouncy.
Trailer Park Boys is probably one of my most favorite shows and probably the number one shows I watch on Netflix!
Doubtless you heard about that mishap on a recent Delta flight headed for Spain, from Atlanta, yes?
It was a code brown out all the way down the aeroplane aisle. The videos of the aftermath (of the brown stuff having hit the rotor blades) was singularly impactful.
Hoping you never have to experience that sort of thing, Mate.
Noel, make certain to take alcohol wipes with you so you can wipe down and disinfect whatever. They are handy to have.
Sadly the last Q-400 flight for Horizon Air was on January 26th of this year. End of the turboprop era for Horizon@@hannahanderson4305
Thanks so much for coming to Greensboro, NC!! Had a great time hanging out and I’m so grateful to be in your video!
I was just about to comment for him to visit you, Jeb
Jeb! so excited you guys crossed paths. Love both of your channels. Him and Suzanne are amazing people :)
Yes he has a such an optimist vibe around him (Like Peter Freestone (used to be Freddie Mercury,s Personal assistant) , the way they talk makes you happy
I wondered when I saw this was going to Greensboro whether Jeb would show up!
The T-Shirt... 😊😊😊😂😂😂
8 passengers onboard the ATR-42 is really light. Never flown onboard a turboprop aircraft before but could be in the future. While watching this video, i was like 20% sure that you may meet Jeb Brooks and it turns out it really did happen. 👍👍
I just assumed he would run into Jeb waiting for the return flight
When I heard Greensboro I instantly thought of Jeb Brooks, and was like, wow I'm amazed he wasn't on that flight to his home airport, and then BAM! 15:35 There he is! Welcoming fallow Avgeek Noel! Awesome! Its great seeing people with the same intrests meeting and bonding of their love of a nitch thing! Beautiful!
Noel being left out to fallow is an unintentionally hilarious image, ngl
I think you should do another around the world in 80 hours
Around the world in prop planes
@@joshevans-jj5xy is that even possible
This reminds me of that video where he went to Perth, Sydney, Auckland and Doha for 72 hours.
Agreed he should do another around the world but visit different countries than his other video
😅😅😅😅
This is why I love this channel. Noel takes us on unique airlines and routes. I prefer this to some other RUclipsrs who simply fly the same major airlines over and over. Much appreciated.
Glad you enjoy it!
Not the crossover we asked for, but the one we needed!
A trip to Grennsboro always has to have Jeb in it!
This video made my day!!
My two favourite aviation & rail geeks meeting up!
Keep up the good work both of you.
I hope first class Rach is much better now after her recent illness.
Turboprops got a negative reputation in the US (especially ATRs) after a crash near Chicago-O'Hare in 1994. The ATRs were prone to suffer in icing conditions, and the pilots hated these planes, to the point where they were warning passengers about their danger IN the airport.
Living in New Zealand I fly on turboprops a few times a month. The ATR-72 600 and Dash 8 service our regional routes. They're fantastic aircraft. But yes, the toilets are very cramped and I rarely use them 😅
I’m from NZ too, turboprops are such a nice change from A320s all the time and it’s great not having to go through security as well.
To be honest I like turbo props a lot. Takes me back to the golden age of flying, where you had beautifull planes like the Super Constellation and the DC-6. Turbo prop planes is just an evolution of those classic planes, and the sound they make is on another level. Well, unless you take the mighty start up sounds of the GE 90 as an exception.
🩷 so cool you met up with Jeb in Greensboro, NC!
I’ve been an avgeek since I can remember… now days I am a mechanic for a major airline and spend most my time watching channels like this. Normal people don’t understand why this community finds this so interesting. I love it. Keep on keeping on my man.
Bring Jeb with you on an around the world trip & then have him do an Amtrak video with you! I’d love to see more of the two of my favorite aviation RUclipsrs together.
Awesome video! it was great to see you two together! We have silver out of CHS and its a nice cheap flight to FL. I hope they stick around and go to more areas!
I love ATRs and Dash 8s they seem to have more legroom than the jets… and in NZ especially Wellington where it’s windy it really does handle it well! Love it ❤
Friend of mine did 3 hours on a turbo prop. 45 minutes Belfast to Leeds, 2 hours 15 circling above Leeds waiting for the wind to die down.
Great video again Noel, nice to see the turboprops getting a shot. Great link-up with Jeb at the end, wasn't expecting that. 😃
GSO used to be a big US Airways location. It even had (may still have) and executive lounge. It helps that TimCo (why you saw those odd planes across the runway) and Honda have huge facilities connected to the airport.
I worked out of GSO for a little over a year, and would constantly fly out of there when the AA/US Air merger was going on. It was crazy busy at the time.
Great vlog as always! The ATR got a very bad rep after the Roselawn IN accident and with the EMB 135/145 on the marked that was a ATR and Fokker killer. How cool that you met JB, Mr GBO. I was sure of that he had booked a ticket from GBO-TPA. Keep up the good work. Be safe! Give my regards to the Mrs. I hope she is doing a lot better.
Great to see Jeb, love his videos as well , half expected to see Lew Dix piloting too !
Jeb Brooks at the end was soo surprising. It is so cool for you two to collab with each other in KGSO! Also thanks for visiting my home airport Tampa International Airport!
Hi Noel, love all your videos. I can't wait to travel on another turboprop since a London City to Luxembourg flight 20 years ago. I was a plane spotter in the 1970's and I remember all the fantastic turboprop planes around at that time
First ATR flight was Chiang Mai- Mae Hong Song ( where a ATR was written of after hard landing)
Jeb and Noel!!! Two of my favorites. Keep the great videos coming gentleman!
That was brilliant and meeting the legend Jeb Brooks! I had never heard of Greensboro NC before RUclips.
Another great video fella,Hope Rach is Recovering well 👍😉💪
Great video Noel . Tampa is my favourite US airport. Happy memories visiting there by NW B727’s and Gulfstream B1900C’s t/f MIA many years ago . 😃
Great video Noel, i hope Rach is feeling better. 😊
We flew ATRs when traveling around the Philippines and honestly not too bad! I hope US uses it more for shorter flights.
Ok now that I've watched it all the way. Wow my 2 Favorite! Noel and Jeb. Great video!!!
I have flown lot's of ATR planes, when working as a tour leader over the past 27 years. Used to commute from Odense/Denmark to Trieste/Italy on an ATR72. Also flew them many times in Vietnam and Laos, when working in that part of the world.
You met jeb!!! I think he's utterly adorable. Gutted you both didn't say see you in the skies at the end
I actually love the sound of a turbo prop while onboard! Used to love my flights from LAX-SBA primarily for that reason. Most recently, very much looked forward to my Boston to Halifax flight for this reason.
We do love our Dash 8s up here in Canada haha.
Hi Noel. Keep up with the awesome work 💪. Great to see both of you together 😅. Here in Malaysia, flights from SZB airport are all on ATRs on FY & OD.
Awesome video! I think the ATR-42 is a real pretty plane. I've flown on many turboprops (turboplops, haha!
). Especially back in the early to mid 80's when I was active duty Navy. Like others, I prefer jets, less bumpy and that. Loved the end of the video when you met up with Jeb Brooks! I watch a lot of his videos too.
I remember when I worked at a low cost airline…every factor was reviewed before a new route was announced. I remember all the signs pointed to huge demand, surveys in towns and cities warranted massive interest. Newspapers lauded the opening of these new, long desired routes…then they’ve open and you’d be flying half empty planes all the time.
So awesome seeing the surprise Jeb cameo! I was hoping he’d show up since you were flying to Greensboro. Jeb’s videos (started out watching his Amtrak videos) are how I ended up getting Noel’s channel recommended to me.
Noel and Jeb on the same video; so cool as I'm subscribed and following both of you. A once a week flight to a sun destination is not rare in Canada but seems to be in N.Carolina. I think they'll do alright once it becomes known and if the price is right; Silver is usually quite good pricewise. We'll see how they do. Montreal and Ottawa have turboprop service to Florida seasonally, and it's also over 3 hours to get there using Q400's.
Another great video as always always a silver airways when passing the ticket counter, but never knew what they were really about. Thank you for giving us an insight into this up-and-coming airline, wishing Rachel I continued speedy recovery as well.!🙏🏻😊👍
Great video Noel lovely to see you caught up with Jeff love the props that’s real flying for a three hour flight they should increase the catering options and love Silvers livery ✈️✈️✈️😘😘
I watch Jeb Brooks as well, so that's really awesome that you met up with him. I was hoping that you would, haha. Really cool to see Silver expand even more with turboprop operations wish they would move more out west because I don't want to have to go out to the east every time to catch a flight with them, even though I want to so badly. Especially with tickets that cheap. Thanks for another exciting upload Noel, and I hope Rachel is doing better!
@noelphilips: So unbelievably cool that you met up with @GreenerGrass Jeb Brooks in Greensboro! Two of my favorite RUclipsrs!
It would be absolutely awesome if you and Jeb did a joint video or 2. I can only imagine how much fun you two would have together and how much fun it would be for us to watch!
As soon as you said Greensboro, I was thinking the only logical thing to do is collab with Jeb Brooks. Very cool Noel!
I worked at TPA from 1986-2003 for all the airline catering companys. I miss working on the ramp and I saw alot of changes there at TPA. I worked at PIE,too( Clearware Airport)
I love the atr it’s such an amazing aircraft. The atr in my opinion is one of the quietest and most comfortable turboprops in my opinion compared to the q400. The q400 is a bit faster and less noisy but quite uncomfortable. Great video as always!!😊
Loved your video man, I think flying this plane, even for 3 hours, is worth it.
Glad to see you met up with Jeb Brooks. Love watching both of your videos!
I have flown on ATRs many times. I think they are fine planes, always enjoyed myself.
Glad to see you and Jeb together on the video. I always like to see RUclipsrs meet up on a video.
It brought me so much joy to see you and Jeb together! I love both your channels so much 😊
So glad!
Jeb does great videos. I really enjoy both of your work
The moment you mentioned Greensboro I immediately thought of Jeb! Glad to see you two together in a video!
Great video. Hope you and family are doing today 😊
YESSIRRRRR Welcome to Tampa Noel!!!!!! Love videos from my city
Love watching both of you. It crossed my mind if Jeb would be there.
Turboprops are nice. Been on an ATR 72 and Dash 8 in Europe a number of times. Very nice planes.
When you said Greensboro, I thought of Jeb immediately. So happy that you two hooked-up!
Fun fact about TPA - it was the first airport to use the landside/airside terminal concept in the world and was the inspiration for Orlando's (MCO) current terminal design (as well as a few others)
When I saw you were going to Greensboro, I hoped that Jeb would show up, and you did not disappoint! His channel is great as well!
Great video. I miss the Q-400's that Horizon Air (Alaska) used to fly up here in the PNW. Really the end of an era when they switched to all E-175's this year.
Noel I love the videos Its the only thing i look forward to after a long day I put your videos on and i watch them all night love it man keep it up the amazing work
Wow, thanks!
Fun to see that 2 of my favorite travelers know each other! My mommy was an NC gal, & it's so beautiful there, enjoy!
Noel, I love your t-shirts man, as always another banger!
Very nice trip report! I've had a few flights on the ATR42 & ATR72 & those flights were around 2 hours or less. I find them quite enjoyable. I seem to remember reading that the early ATR42 planes were banned from flying northern usa routes during the winter due to icing problems.
Silver is a cool little airline. Their Tampa/Greenville SC flights were very convenient when I had surgery in Tampa. I wish they offered more destinations.
Great video Noel! Video recommendation; I’ve heard there’s some high speed, low altitude, prop flights from the depths of the Columbian forest to Florida. I would love for you to review that next!
You and Jeb Brooks are my faves. Thanks!❤😊
Funny aircraft! I didn't know this kind ....and I've flown on several different propellers ones; and quite nice you ran into Jeb, another youtuber I follow...interesting review
Glad you enjoyed it
Your reviews/videos just get better and better!! 😂😂😂 ❤❤❤
Glad you like them!
Great to see you and Jeb brooks together.
Greensboro is a fairly large airport/city, but it serves as more of a shipping hub with fedex, hondajet, etc. I grew up there but we most often flew out of charlotte or rdu.
Eey !! 2 of my favorite “Traveltubers” in the same video! Following Jeb (and of course Susanne ) for 2. years now ;) 🎉
Two of my favorite youtubers in one spot!!
Hi Noel Nice to see you go out of the way to airports such as greensboro which are not regularly serviced but due to your review more people travel to such destinations cheers mate.Gowra
I love the paint job!!
I’m going to Greensboro. NC next month but I’m driving. Never heard of it before I needed to go there. Now your going, so funny!!! Loved the video!
I went to college in Greensboro and still live about an hour south. Hope you enjoyed your time here in NC!
Good to see Jeb there love his reviews
Great to see a turboprop review. I don't get to take as many turboprop flights as I would like - my last was a 30-minute hop in a Saab 340 - but my best was in the Dornier 328. You'll love the take-off performance, you are almost pinned to your seat.
Great Noel Phillips we love you so much in Nigeria, we are expecting you, the first aircraft I was trained on as a cabin crew was turbo prop- Fokker 27 aircraft,I am so happy to see Jebbs brook, such a very nice guy like you Noel
9:00 😂😂😂😂 I love you so much lol you are hilarious
15:48 haha! I was waiting for the crossover and was NOT disappointed!
Loved the ATR, our longest flight on it was 2 hours, San Juan PR to St Lucia, my favorite Caribbean island.
Love the shirt.. and seeing Mr jeb Brooks...i was hoping for this meet up when you said your destination..
15:36 So glad you got to see Jeb. The whole video, I was like why hasn't he made a video on this.
So, in Colombia, where I live 1/2 of the year.. there are ATRs everywhere.. and I love them... you feel like you are flying, watching the props and whatnot... enjoyed this...
I love that they are expanding, Silver also recently started service to my airport Greenville Spartanburg (KGSP) in SC, you should stop by and check out this beautiful airport. Best wishes to you and your family Noel!
Whew! Was starting to wonder if we were getting a vid today.
My two favorite travel RUclipsrs in one video!! Very cool!
Great video Noel. I’m pretty sure Air Lingus still use those sort of planes, flying between Dublin and Birmingham Uk. They are great for short journeys.
I was waiting for the Jeb mention flying into Greensboro, I was not disappointed!
Watching this made me realise I haven't been on a turboprop plane since 1973, a Handley Page Herald, which took around 2 hours to fly from Luton to Jersey. It was a very smooth flight, my mum balanced a pencil on its end on her table for most of the cruise. The only other turboprop I've flown on is the Vickers Viscount which had such huge windows, the view was fantastic.
Nice to see Jebs smiling face on your channel.
Thanks for the video Mate
Glad you enjoyed it
lovely flight as always
Glad you enjoyed it
Hey, what do you know, special bonus appearance at the end!
Sounds like an ambitious routing, Tampa to Greensboro, not what you normally expect. Would most people on a Greensboro route be likely connecting via some closer major hub like CLT or ATL?
I recall getting on so many t-props when making smaller-town connections in the 90s and early 00s, before the RJs took over. As we got from the video, one thing to bear in mind is when on a prop plane, if you have the choice sit *away* from the plane of the propeller disk. On something like an ATR try immediately behind the wing.
I’ve lived in Tampa for 20 years. Always liked coming home to the airport here very relaxed compared to many others of similar size.
You ended the video the best way possible. My 2 favorites for aviation videos. Love it
Glad you enjoyed it!
