Probably your best video. The best part is how you explained your background and told-Go out there and accomplish your dreams. Way to go Josh, thats why we all love you.
Hey Josh , as this comment also mentions, Explaining your journey, not just of this beautiful experience but of the prequel to your vlogging career start was a lovely little touch that added so much more vibe to the otherwise already captivating experience in the Antarctic continent. Wishing you well and many more happy journeys. By the way, you used a beautiful word "gratitude" which says a lot about your attitude. 💯🔥🙏🏽
Namaste from Melbourne, Australia ❤ Dear Josh Cahill you are brave and it's incredible video of Antarctica. It's one of your best video. God Bless You 🌹 ! Love 💓 Regards !
Probably one of the best videos you've ever done. Wow, just seeing that ice and the glacier along with the penguins. WOW. And an Avro it its natural habitat too. Absolutely perfect. Thankyou for sharing this with us. Man, it looked cold.
Josh, I think you're a great story teller and I enjoy it very much watching your videos, listening to your reviews. I have some fav youtubers I always come back to and you're one of them. Nice to hear about your background and how you have accomplished living your dream today, congr!👏👏👏🎉🎉🎉✈🌎
If you haven't been to Easter Island, I can't recommend it enough!!! I didn't even know you could visit the island until 2 weeks ago and changed all my vacation plans around checking it out and SO WORTH IT!!!!!!!!! LATAM flies daily with a dreamliner from SCL but the flights are most often oversold so you need to buy early!
Thank you Josh. In 2012, I was on a cruise of a lifetime, which commenced in Buenos Aires in Argentina headed south towards the Falkland Islands and then around Cape Horn and all the way up the coast of South America. We then sailed through the Panama Canal into the Caribbeaan, onto Florida and finally New York City in the USA. One of the many highlights of this trip was a side trip from Punta Arenas in Chile to Antarctica, just as you did here. Unfornately, the weather was not kind and the trip was concelled at the last minutes and there I was unable to travel. I was so disappointed as I knew that the opportunity was unlikely be offered to me again. Anyhow, despite see it through tears of sadness, but also of joy, your videos and trip to Antarctica, shown here has been amazing and I am so grateful to have found it and seen through your eyes and your camera what I missed. Very much appreciated and thank you.
Hi Josh, I'd like to echo earlier comments in that your video's are evolving to a new level. Your desire to take them further is a fantastic goal for 2024. Many of us of a certain age don't get the opportunity to do what you can do but your content brings to our computer the ability to share the experience almost as if we were there, and that's a huge positive in my book.
Congrats Josh! So nice to see you so emotional and grateful. I was lucky enough to visit Antarctica two years ago myself and it truly is the most special indescribable place on the planet.
Josh, I can't thank you enough for doing what you do, but not just in the sense of travelling to educate and enrich a whole community with your warmth perceptive angle, but to visit a place as remote as Antartica, a place any of us would also struggle for words to describe and share with us your love for the vast beauty of our world. That gets to my core. When I was younger I explored as well. I've camped out In Alaska in the winter, climbed volcanoes in the Andes and enjoyed a supreme espresso in cities like NY and Napoli. I thought I was on the decline now that I have young children, but you just lit that fire in me again and I can't thank you enough for it. I'm grateful and enjoy your work, which I just recently began to watch. More to come, but you keep doing what you do... Just don't do it in AC Rouge (RV). You can thank me later for that tip.😉
14:00-1542 is why I love this channel and I wish there was more of Josh like this. Great video and weird for me to see a gravel landing strip. Another Josh ✅
What a bucket list dream come true! One of your most moving episodes. I had tears watching. You inspire all of us Josh to follow our dreams and passions. They can come true. Thank you!
What an experience! Glad they outfitted you with special gear. I liked watching the slob ice in the water, it reminded me of Newfoundland in the spring. Glad you made it there and back safely.
Josh, thanks so much for posting this video. It is such an inspiring video to watch. I have watched a couple of other RUclips personalities who went to Antarctica however your comments were truly from the heart. You were so grateful to have had the opportunity to go there. Thanks for showing me a place that I can only dream of. Much appreciated.
Great to see you in South America!! There are several Airlines you can Flyer in this continent as Copa Airlines, Avianca, Aero Mexico, Gol, Azul, Sky, Jetsmart, Windows, Arajet etc etc etc...Bienvenido!
Love watching your videos Josh!! I’m so happy you did decide to pick up the camera and start recording that 1st day! Be Blessed and Enjoy the Journey 💕
I am very impressed by the fact such a remote and exclusive place like Antarctica becomes possible to be visited, though it has an enormous and untouched terrain and for sure has a lot more to show. Hey Josh, thank u very much for sharing this experience. I am wondering if you are maybe planning some South America aviation tour in 2024? Cause it's a lot of interesting stuff there?
Watching this and knowing exactly what you are talking about and the feelings behind it. I also had the chance to visit Antarctica recently and it's another world! Thanks for sharing Josh. Greetings from Aruba.
Awesome work Josh. The U.S.A.F. and R.N.Z.A.F. maintain the U.S. and New Zealand Antarctica operations out of my hometown at Christchurch International Airport - indeed, I work across the road at a rental car company and can see them everyday. I can appreciate that you are one of the lucky ones to reach the frozen continent. O.T. for your interest, commercial airlines flying in/out of Christchurch include Air N.Z., QANTAS, Singapore, Emirates, Fijian, Jetstar. We currently have United and Cathay Pacific as well as a Chinese airline coming in as well on a seasonal basis.
The BAe146 - I think that this is the aircraft that the Queen used to fly as part of the Queen's Flight. She probably liked the secure feeling of four engines.
Josh I love all your videos, but i especially love the ones in which you are still so clearly in awe of the experience even after all the miles you've flown and destinations you've visited. That was today's video. You mentioned you're looking for inspiration for your 2024 travels but I have a feeling you've already inspired yourself. Thanks for another great aviation adventure. ❤
only half way thru and loving the video. Have to say I have never heard Antarctica pronounced that way before. Awesome trip and glad you enjoyed it and shared with us.
After Concorde, my favourite Aircraft! Although I actually prefer the 146 version. The Flaps always amaze me! These were very popular in Southern Africe because of the gravel runways and high altitudes and short take-offs. The High Wing is great as it keeps the Ehgines safer from stones flying up.
The Antarctic region is defined by the Antarctic Treaty System as everything south of 60°S latitude. This includes the continent of Antarctica, the Balleny Islands, Peter I Island, Scott Island, the South Orkney Islands, and the South Shetland Islands.
such an amazing video! the visuals are stunning. it’s my dream to visit there one day. thank you for taking this trip and letting your viewers experience it thru your eyes ❤ i love also that you shared your story about how you started your travels. you’re 100% right. you just need the desire and really want it. i traveled all over the world in the 1990s. my goal was to fill my passport. which i almost did. traveling is the best thing you can do to learn about the world and yourself. you meet so many great people and find out regardless of where you come from, we are all the same.
How about doing some of the more unique airports or flights, like a flight to Barra in Scotland where the beach is the runway or the Westray to Papa Westray flight, the shortest commercial flight. There’s a few island hopping flights in Scotland. I’m sure other countries will have similar (maybe in the Pacific area).
Congrats Josh! Such a cool adventure! Antarctica is on my bucket list. Thanks for the beautiful message. I believe you can achieve things when you put hard work and perseverance. Love your channel and your honesty! I would love one day to be in one of your adventures! I am an explorer at heart! I am from Brazil, living in the USA and my mom is German. The world is so amazingly big.. there are so much to see! 🥰
Great to see these birds still going strong😎, I've indeed flown on CC-ATI, seen at 00:12:57, almost exactly 10 years ago as HB-IYY when she was still with Swiss. Nice livery tho😁
Your smile says it all!! I got goosebumps just watching your amazing video! You really captured the beauty of Antarctica with both your videos and storytelling! It’s a wonderful feeling when you achieve your dreams 😊! Thank you for taking us along on this special trip and all the other great trips!
Long time watcher, first time commenter - This was one of the best videos of yours I have seen - love your summary at the end there about reaching for your goals. One of my bucket list items is to visit Antarctica and this video was very inspiring.
I've been living for 2 years in Inukjuak in the Canadian arctic and I can assure you there are a lots of story to tell about the local Inuit on top of great arctic landscape. I know Noel flew air Inuit to neighbouring Puvirnituq last year but he mostly focused his video on the airline rather than the area itself, so here's an idea for you. (There's a slight chance I even return later this year, in such case i'll be happy to host you)
Josh once again you excelled yet again time after time you hit the mark you have got to be the best travel vlogger on the internet . Loved when you explained your past . Once again keep up the good work
Hi Josh, out of all the Airlines vloggers out there I consider you the best!!! You show how the common person actually flies not always in upper class seats. Thank you for keeping it real!!
Hi Josh! Love your videos as always! I’m an Avgeek from Mumbai INDIA and a collector of air ticket jackets snd boarding passes. I have recently been to Egypt and to my surprise there are many local airlines like Air Cairo, Nile Air etc. apart from Egypt Air. All the major cities in Egypt like Aswan, Luxor , Alexandria Sharm El sheikh ….are well connected with multiple flights. You can hence have a dedicated Egypt tour with multiple airlines to try.
Amazing ! Had goosebumps when you landed, and seeing that church ! A very quick visit! #travelenvy Have you been to Lake Toba on Sumatra ? In there in April! Keep travelling, the journey continues ..... always .....
Amazing trip! Excited to hear that you're cruising to Tristan Da Cunha, a place that has interested me for a long time. There is also a supply vessel that goes from Reunion to Perth stopping at the French subantarctic islands like Ile Amsterdam, St Paul and Kerguelen Islands for an adventure trip
Amazing video. I remember flying a few times on the back then Swiss Air Avro Jet, also called Jumbolino, if I remember correctly. Amazing approach into George Island. Was in Punta Arenas back in 2006, what an amazing and different place, had a lovely vibe over it.
A BAE 146 built in Hatfield, England. Air Canada had flown them also for some of their domestic routes. I remember flying one to Edmonton from Saskatoon in the early 90's and some passengers being disturbed by the sudden change in engine pitch as it was landing. cfm international engines, I believe ?.😮😊
Josh, thanks for bringing us along. Yes, the Antarctic cruises are wonderful, but the flight you took was one of a kind and well worth it, I'm sure. As for ideas for new adventures for the channel, on a polar theme, may I suggest an expedition cruise of the Northwest Passage in northern Canada, now being offered by at least one cruise line and definitely out of bounds of my travel budget, but probably not yours. I am North American, and the Northwest Passage was the Holy Grail for adventurers going back as far as the 16th century. Only in the past few years has it been passable, thanks (?) to our warming climate. In the mid-19th century, two Briitish ships, the HMS Terror and HMS Erebus made a good effort, only to perish in the frozen ice. Their true story is dramatized in the excellent limited series "The Terror", originally developed for the AMC cable network and currently available on Amazon Prime and the Roku channel. Safe travels!
Awesome, congrats! All your videos are great Josh, but this was special in a different and most unique way. Looking forward always to your honest and true content, thanks!!
I am thinking some kind of gravel deflection system. While watching some plane reviews, I have seen a similar thing on Boeing planes used up in Alaska and remote Canada

08:32 Bamboo poles as a tool in Antartica!
Probably one of the best videos you've ever done. Wow, just seeing that ice and the glacier along with the penguins. WOW.
And an Avro it its natural habitat too. Absolutely perfect.
Thankyou for sharing this with us. Man, it looked cold.
Josh, Your JOY at making it to Antarctica, what you saw, what you felt, was quite infectious!!!!
My uncle was the radio operator on Tristan da Cunha when the volcano erupted. Enjoy the experience
Did the same - a few years ago! With DAP. Same route. It was the most amazing destination where I’ve ever been. Great to see it in your video too
Josh, I think you're a great story teller and I enjoy it very much watching your videos, listening to your reviews. I have some fav youtubers I always come back to and you're one of them. Nice to hear about your background and how you have accomplished living your dream today, congr!👏👏👏🎉🎉🎉✈🌎

You are an inspiration Josh. I took up vlogging at age 60. What a brilliant video this is.

Congrats Josh! So nice to see you so emotional and grateful. I was lucky enough to visit Antarctica two years ago myself and it truly is the most special indescribable place on the planet.
That Avro Penguin livery is the best!
I felt the same way arriving in Kangerlussuaq back in September. Just incredible!

Josh , this is what we've been waiting all these years. Super proud of you and yes to more changes Iin 2024.
I love DAP! I flew to Puerto Williams with them eight years ago. Can't wait to head back down and visit Antarctica one day.

For a destination like that, great to see all those engines hanging off the wings!!
Hi Josh, out of all the Airlines vloggers out there I consider you the best!!! You show how the common person actually flies not always in upper class seats.
Thank you for keeping it real!!
An-Artica could be the 8th Continent 😂 Love how your part Aussie accent shines through on occasion mate ✌🏼🇦🇺

How exciting! Those glaciers were beautiful!! You can also say you've walked with penguins. Loved this video!

Awesome, congrats! All your videos are great Josh, but this was special in a different and most unique way. Looking forward always to your honest and true content, thanks!!
Awesome, on my bucket list 🥔🤔👏🏻
how does the gravel not damage the jet engines?
Probably too heavy to get sucked up into the engine.
The engines are higher of the ground on the bae146/rj???. I think there was also a gravel deflector kit for it as well.
I am thinking some kind of gravel deflection system.
While watching some plane reviews, I have seen a similar thing on Boeing planes used up in Alaska and remote Canada
@@heathertruskinger6214 yeah, seen that with the old 737 with the low bypass engines.
There’s no reverse thrust on the engines , so no chance of deflected gravel being blown back into the engine intakes .
What a beautiful video, I'm so glad I could do my small part to help out. 🙌😊
Nothing else to say Josh but Wow. Absolutely beautiful.Thankyou.
