Nice start Mike! Interesting iron piece..just wondering how feasible it would be to 1) get a weed wacker for the rough areas and/or 2) ask for permission to use your propointer and hand shovel to scour that basement!🍀
I'm sure he will let me scan the dirt floor. Plus he did say he is going to bush-hog those brambles. Hacking through that stuff by hand is a lot of work
Lane is very cool and he loves history like we do, just in a different way. He is into structural preservation. I told him I would bring another detector with me the next time I visit so he can detect too.
That is exactly what I am thinking. I was there for only a few hours, and one of those hours was spent hacking through the picky bushes. I was invited back. We'll see what the next visit brings
I totally agree with you Mike. Getting the opportunity to detect an historic place. Sometimes that’s better than what you found. They need to bush hogged that back area. You definitely are cleaning that place up. He seemed like a pretty nice guy. Thanks for sharing Mike
He is working on clearing out the back of the property. Good thing I was invited back... plus he is going to try to set up a hunt at some other historic homes too.
At most historic sites, I give the relics back to the homeowner. But I do bag and label finds from particular hunts. I am planning to make a "relic room" in my house to display some of my nicest finds.
Do you remember the brand of shovel you are using in your video? I have the same one and have worn it down to half that size over the years and need a new one. I love that small shovel. Thanks, Doug in NC
Yes, it is a Lesche T-handle. I bought it on Amazon. There are several handle lengths to choose from. The one I got is a little long since I use it as a cane. LoL 😆

The hunt was fun even though I didn't find much. Thank you for watching. The weather will clear up soon
Very cool that that they allow folks to detect there!

What a great place to detect ! I am sure you are thinking there just has to be more there. The iron piece is interesting

yay! can't wait!!!!
It was fun even though not a lot was found. Perhaps on the next visit I might find some good stuff when those brambles are bush-hogged.

That’s awesome. Connections are the key. It definitely looks like it has some potential. Good luck when going back
awesome man just the chance to explore and dig an old site
The experience was well worth it. Some hunts go like that, but the hunt is not over at that site. Thanks for watching
Nice swap! Metal Detecting Ambassador!
Most of the time, treasure is the friends you make along the way. Everything else is a bonus
@@Metal-Detecting-NC yessir!
What a privilege, to get the opportunity to detect that property! I love old iron, so I think the hook is very cool!❤
Me too. I had to leave it with the house. I would feel bad if I took it.
Cool old iron piece and a terrific permission Mike👋👍
What's even better is that I am invited back after all that brush is bush-hogged. Thank you for watching
@@Metal-Detecting-NC 👍 nice
You need me there, ask Metal Detecting with Randy I am a trail blazer LOL. Like the trade. Thanks for sharing
All that area should be bush-hogged by the time I re-visit. Some sites are like that when you have limited time on a permission. Thanks for watching.
Felicitaciones amigo por sus hermosos hallazgos, muy interesante aventura, saludos cordiales desde chile 🙋♂️🇨🇱⛏️🗝️💍💪🤜🤛
Gracias amigo.
Man what a beautiful site to detect! Best Regards my friend
Thank you. I was invited back too. The brambles will be cut by then.
Nice hunt 👍😊.
Thank you sir. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
What a great location. The owner seemed really nice, glad you had the opportunity to detect there!
Thank you so much! I was invited back after that picky-bush area is mowed.
That is great, good luck when you return!@@Metal-Detecting-NC
Do you have a special method for archiving your finds?

Hello from NJ ,Love NC You have been Subbed
Thank you very much for your support. More exciting videos to come.
You really need to put your plugs back together better
They wouldn't hold together. Thanks for the comment
Good try Mike. Too bad the back 40 couldn't be brushhogged. Thats realistic metal detecting
Indeed it is. Not every place gives up the goods
Think I could join you on a hunt
I bounce around a lot from place to place

Handle to a pot
That's what we were thinking but the pin on one end and the hook has us guessing.
