Digging Up History: Metal Detecting A Historic Farmstead & Colonial Homesite
HTML-код

- Today, Grizz and I met for the first time to explore and metal-detect an old farmstead near a major battlefield. That didn't pan out, so we journeyed to another site and started finding some great colonial relics and copper coins.

Thanks for watching…. The Chigg
I learn so much from watching your videos Aquachigger . I know said before but, you are such an asset to your country. Cheers to you mr chigg
I disagree, I have seen a mouse wearing that exact hat.
Chigg, I would love to run some of those flat buttons through electrolysis for a minute of two. I have seen a guy do it and you would swear it's flat and a pattern appears. Worn and stuff, but you van make something out.
Chigg and his videos are such a breath of fresh air when the internet feels overwhelmingly rotten. Thanks Man.
I appreciate that.
keep em coming chigg lol imma get a metal detector been watching about 5 years now or so@@aquachigger
Ready for the picture show. I'm always optimistic when I see they're over 20 minutes.
A Civil War helicopter.

Hello Chigg, ya missed it, that was "Speedy Gonzales" Sombrero!!!😊 Keep up the good work and vids... Be safe and take care, "God Bless", sincerely, Randy. 😇🙏👊
Enjoyed another adventure with Aquachigger, You make your own magic to share. Thanks, Beau.
I'm so excited yes another video ❤
Terrible digging weather, not quite winter and not quite spring. Chugs a trooper.
Beautiful place to have a wander. Cool, thanks mate

Thanks for the pics at the end of video . Cut coin very cool !
18:11 it is from "Linotype" machine for printing books or newspapers. It might have some text on one side, nice find!
Always a good adventure. Thanks for sharing.
Good Morning AC, This is the first time I've been 'allowed' to see you in a Long time! So nice of them (snark). Thank you for sharing.. so interesting
Welcome back!
Colonial sight! I was just magnet fishing in Gettysburg
the Frito Bandito droped that hat
Thanks Chigg, I enjoyed it as always.
1:55 It ain't only septic system installers. Just about every home construction site I have visited has had the ground littered with beer cans.
Probably so, but I worked with those guys, not the rest of the crews.
@aquachigger I inspected septic installers, too. If you're still looking for Ricky, he's probably under the tanks.
Another fun adventure!
Most excellent!
Good evening from Southeast South Dakota
When you dug the little pointy thing I immediately thought that was off the top of a small metal fence. Like the ones that you see in older cemetery's. I think you might have been on top of a grave. 😮
It's possible although the property owner said it wasn't.
That piece of lead looks like a stick on wheel weight, meant to be cut at the serrations to adjust weight.
Super Cool Adventure
Chiggs, still a great hunt in spite of the inclement weather. Beautiful location.👍👏😀
Fun one!! I loved the "mouse hat"!...lol
Super cool finds, really old relics, thats why i love metal detecting
Chigg world. There’s always room for one more.
Love your content. And what you do!
I appreciate that!
Thanks for another adventure.
Good stuff!
All your videos are the best!
Thanks
A whole horseshoe! 👍
Congrats on the bucket lister Mexican monopoly sombrero 😉
The piece of copper pipe as you called it. The pattern kind of reminds me of the pieces of pipe on the old wind chimes.
Your modern bullets made me wonder if youhave ever been asked to help in an investigation? Just random thought.
Lastly think it's time maybe you should design a Chigg's Army metal detectors vest.
Just another random thought
Hope Chigg come Japan find Samurai sword in ground
That would be fun.
Hello Mr jigger, I love your videos thank you for the entertainment. I have a serious question. What metal detector would you recommend for a beginner? Thank you man. Keep On Keepin On
🙂

I would hide the evidence of having consumed Miller light also....

Nice finds Chig & Griz! Did I see that text 1919 Penny, your father's Bday? I graduated in 81 also, my dad was born 1938. Your pa was pretty old when you were hatched? Rk.
Yep, I was a surprise apparently.
We share a graduation year. 🍻
I really like the addition of the text explaining what the items are during the photo montage at the end! On a random note, I've always wondered what the permission agreements are like with property owners when it comes to finds. Do Chigg and friends get to keep everything they find, no matter what it is? What happens if they find something truly valuable like a cache of gold coins, a diamond ring or a treasure chest of valuables and the owner says "hey, you found it but it's on my property so it belongs to me"?
Permissions vary. Usually it's keep what you find or go to the next place, but I do make exceptions for special properties where I feel it's good the let the artifacts stay with the property. I have a series coming up like that.
@@aquachigger I see! I figured the property owners generally let you keep what you find but I know sometimes you have to end up finding something that the owner ends up kicking themselves over for not finding themselves! thanks for the reply!
Well you turned that around quite well and ended up with some decent stuff well done. Was the mouse and the motorcycles sombrero silver or silver washed? I seen a lot of found buttons but never one that shape or that fancy pretty cool button. Thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼
Silver washed. Thanks
@@aquachigger 👍🏼👊🏼
Actually, the 'Indian Head" is actually "Lady Liberty" with a Native American Head dress.
Didn't realize that. Kinda weird, eh?
Interesting spelling of 'colour' on that button
Mouse sombrero
I was in dreamland. 😢
I still have faith in ya!
Hey chig, I’m just getting into detecting and I bought a vanquish 540, hoping I made a good choice for starting out.
Probably so, but I have never used one. Name brand detectectors are pretty much all reliable.
Could you please show us a belt buckle
450th like
81 grad myself.
Does any one know what go pro the chig uses? Wanted to bye one for my self but don’t know what he uses?

Lincoln was a great president like Caligula was a decent Ceasar.
If you are pro-slavery and a prefere a divided United States, you are correct! But, you'd be writing that in Japanese or German.
@aquachigger you do not need to be proslavery to be states rights. Separate North American nations has nothing to do with being allies in WWII . We allied with Canada and England, both former enemies. .......You were correct with stinkin' Lincoln.
Comment under 20 here woohoo 🎉
Is the half coin considered 4 bits?
A bit is 12 1/2 cents (one eighth of a dollar coin). That coin would be a 1/2 of one cent/penny.
How you doing after the beaver incident
Just a little foaming at the mouth.
.
Ohh gosh, i hesitates for half a second. Did i make it
Ya made it.
Good or bad finds, looks like you enjoyed your self. We always enjoy watching. Like the history lessons that come a long with the fines. I also like that you show us the front and back of the items.
Giving away your age Chigg, 1981(18?)

@@aquachigger aha, an early bloomer!👍

I know you were in the military so you should know its not a helicopter its a rotary wing aircraft.
I was Army Infantry back in the day before that term was used much. Besides, I have lazy speech patterns. ;)
@@aquachigger Enjoyed the explanation for "Helicopter". Had never heard that before. I'm still trying to learn, Beau.
