Charlie (Jim Carrey) gets into a messy fight with himself.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Six years after Dumb and Dumber, Jim Carrey reunited with Peter Farrelly and Bobby Farrelly for this anarchic comedy with a hint of romance. Charlie (Carrey) is a good-natured Rhode Island state trooper who likes helping people. But years of internalizing his frustrations about his work and his family have caused Charlie to develop an alter ego: Hank, an abusive, violent, sexually compulsive police officer. Charlie can keep Hank at bay with medication, but just barely. When Irene (Renee Zellweger) finds herself in legal trouble through a series of misunderstandings involving her ex-boyfriend, Charlie must escort her on a long drive to New York for questioning. After Charlie loses his medication, he and Hank wind up vying for her affections: Charlie wants Irene to marry him, while Hank has more brutal intentions. It's not difficult if you're fairly athletic and extremely flexible. I remember doing this many times in football practice to work the fast twitch muscles in your legs.
The only difference is he's leaning into his feet while using his quads to extend his legs fully.
When I played football, we had to do an explosive hop to our feet from a kneeling position. Using momentum of swinging our arms up to bring our body of the ground momentarily and then extremely quickly land your feet underneath you into a squatting position, then fully extend.
1:51-1:58, that was some unbelievably genius work flipping characters mid charge.

Jim Carrey fighting himself has got to be one of the funniest scenes I've watched.
I saw this when I was a teen... And thought it was funny as hell. Looking back now as an adult damn. This man was a hell of an actor and a comical genius. I say actor first because he's convincingly funny. He's very very fluid and versatile. Jim Carey can do a serious film, but most others actors cannot be hilariously funny. Hats off sir. You are a legend.
They should have an Oscar for comedy. I'm sure this wasn't easy to act and definitely requires a special talent.

Jim Carey does not get enough credit for this. I truly believe this movie is underrated because the whole fight thing between him and his split personality is beyond hilarious.
This was one of the funniest scenes ever I love this movie, this was my favorite Jim Carrey the way how everyone looked at Charlie/Hank off the train at 0:56 was so priceless, and Irene was like " what the hell are you looking at? nothing too see here." Also the part where he showed his weasel to those old ladies I lost it funny scene ever.

This scene exemplifies Jim Carrey's amazing knack for slapstick and physical comedy. He's simply a joy to watch and so talented at utilizing his face and body for comedy. He used to be my idol when I was younger because I loved impersonating his slapstick.
I think that comedians are more complex actors than other ones for what you mention, they use the face, body and voice to do things that look impossible at first sight. Is a shame that actually the comedy is limited to yelling and screaming like Steve Carrell, Adam Sandler or Will Ferrell

What's interesting is that in a week (July 29th) this will be a daily scene. Amtrak Ethan Allen Express is being extended to Burlington after a 69 year absence in passenger rail service.
