Think the fern is a Rabbit's Foot...leaf shape and growing pattern look just like mine. Fun video - that was some fancy footwork with Piper! Love my crocodile fern, too...much easier care than I had suspected. I hope so and I’ve been looking at pictures on instagram and the leaf shape is definitely similar!

ferns do well on a wick method (self watering pots). Imho, your davana will be still struggling - the mix is too airy and potted too high, the pot is too big.
I think it would be better to pot seperately two parts in different pots, take heavier soil mixture, give them pots that fit and to pot root ball lower. And i would put one of them on a wick.
